He was the only dreadnok I didn’t have. And then all my GI joes were stolen out of a storage building on my property. I can’t even imagine rebuying them all or even the ones I didn’t have because those won’t be the ones I played with and had adventures with. But watching these HCC videos scratched that itch and brings back so many memories.
Your point about Hasbro wanting to cash in on the Ewoks I have heard in several other places. I think that's why they came up with the Fatal Fluffies in the second miniseries. Not surprisingly, like the Ewoks, they were hardly ever heard from again...
Great review! I loved all of the original Dreadnoks. As a kid, I never picked up on the "Tom, Dick, and Harry" and "Winken, Blinken, and Nod" in-jokes, but I have to say that I find them pretty hilarious in my old age!
If I was Hasbro trying to reboot the Joeverse I would start with Dreadnoks. Zaranna and Zandar are in a high-tech federal detention center and Zartan goes undercover to break them out. Zartan recruits the Dreadnoks prison gang to help. I'd have Mercer, Red Dog, and Taurus in the prison too. I'd include some prisoner with a connection to Stalker's Detroit street gang and another character from Houston who had been busted by Law and Order. And another Trinidian Chinese prisoner who knows explosives from his cousin in the military who team up to save the prison during a visit from a politician running for office from blowing up but The Dreadnoks escape.
Sadly I did not have the Drednoks growing up. They were ones I really wanted but did not get as a kid. The art of Ripper from the Commando Attack board game cool. It made it look like his jaws were like an earthquake machine or something. Thanks HCC. I'm so glad you are back. Looking forward to the next review.
The 3 85 Dreadnoks were/are really cool great unique look great unique accessories...they should've come as a 3 pack a la Cobra La 😈 I'm glad they didn't make silly Ewok creatures instead. 🐻
Excellent review! I love how in detail the file card and media appearances were presented. This figure looks pretty good just missing a few paint apps.
Have you ever done a review of the Heli-Viper? He was the viper that came with the helicopter backpack thingy. I know in previous videos you said he was ugly, but hes still a cobra trooper and hes still apart of gijoe so...
My fave and was the last of the original 3 Dreadnoks I got in about 1986-87 as was super hard to find where I went. Never a sub-team but a separate faction of mercenaries.
Does anyone think The Tremor Brothers from Smokin' Aces are inspired by the Dreadknocks? Due to the Zartan file card flap and an uber-religious mother these are the only Joe characters (Zartan included) that my mother refused to allow me to purchase. Fair enough. I love the military aspect of GI Joe.
I think Ripper is an awesome figure. You have a horrible elbow crack on the right arm of yours. I'd need to get a new arm, for sure. I can't stand elbow cracks.
I still think the original dreadnoks we're go Joe's version of spinal tap. Also I think there's one more dreadnok and he had dreadlocks. But I can't remember his name.
@@batandjoefan8108 yup, oddly enough his figures are interesting. They all look either like a crackheads or male models. It's funny. I think he was in the later comics from IDW. But yes he was later.
Fun video! Thank you! I always get a kick out of the first three Dreadnoks' "real names." They did a piss-poor job of doing the accents in the cartoon, though.
I know this character is pretty obscure, but I always prefer Machete ( From Sigma 6 ) over Ripper as the main Dreadnoks crew. Maybe it just me for having grown up with 2000s Gi Joe like Sigma 6, the live action movies, and Renegade or maybe I just like Machete design a lot more. He does fit in with the Dreadnoks and looks a lot cooler.
Love your videos! Originally, the handle for the knife on the torso was golden painted, but worn off on yours.

There's only 11 Dreadnok's. Easy to require. I have 7 of the 11. Missing Zartan, Zanzibar, Road Pig and Thrasher.
@@christianhafer9819 what of Zartan's daughter?
@@k-dawgbroadcasting5444 I have Zarana.
What can I say about this Dreadnok. He had the coolest name, a mohawk and the best looking rifle. Love this review Commander!
My favorite subteam!!! Dreadnoks 4 life!!!
Lol wow all these years and I didn't know that about their names.
Another Video that Hits the Heart strings. Because Ripper and Torch were not easy to come by and this was a figure I always wanted! Thank HCC!
I always enjoy a subtle WKRP reference.
That Taz voice coming out of Ripper got a huge surprise laugh outta me, good job!
And the WKRP stinger at the end...I needed that!
Can't say how glad I am to have you back Coco!

This was my first drednoks back in the day

My brother has a shirt with a 50s diner. I swear whoever drew it put ripper on there, there's no mistaking that face and mohawk
Great video! I never had the dreadnoks back in the day but I have tracked a few down lately and they are really cool fun!
Thanks to the accessory pack around that time, I didn't have a problem with the light blue pistol when I was a kid.

My FAVORITE Dreadnok

My favorite Dreadnok.
Excellent review! I love how in detail the file card and media appearances were presented. This figure looks pretty good just missing a few paint apps.
He was my favorite!👍
This is a great figure! Though Torch was my favorite among the original Dreadnoks.
Mine too, probably.

Step away from the playset...lol🤣
Great video!👍
There actually are golf ball sized grenades. His art shows larger ones, but smaller ones did exist. Used in the Vietnam Conflict, I think.
Hahaha that sound bite of Ripper is to make a nod to Looney Tines Taz. As for his power tool, as a kid I thought it was a jack hammer…
Ripper and Torch had that Beavis and Butthead vibe. Two goofy aussies.
My fave and was the last of the original 3 Dreadnoks I got in about 1986-87 as was super hard to find where I went. Never a sub-team but a separate faction of mercenaries.
Excellent review. I look forward to seeing the classified version of the dreadnoks.👍
I didn’t realize he came with power jaws as a kid and just assumed it was a jackhammer. Kinda made more sense to me at the time.
Que geniaaaal!!! Lo máximo el videoooo jejejeje
What do you think bout the remakes of gi Joe's an cobra figures
Cold Slither ! Cold Slither!
The 25th anniversary Ripper has a variant, he wears a yellow shirt, similar to the one from the comic and cartoon.
HCC788 💪🏾💚
Come on, him and Zandar are the best looking dreads!
I don’t know if I should be proud of myself or disappointed in myself that I got the WKRP reference immediately,. Ether way I’m old
When are you going to do torch?? And can you do all the Dreadnoks? They are the best and thanks for all the years of awesome content thanks much
Ripping great review!
Hell's Angels+Mad Max=Dreadnoks
I’m 89% sure that I got two of the dreadnoughts added the coral catalog that came with my 1987 defiant
The Dungarees? Randy Travis is a Dungaree?

Where did you get that shirt?
Rippers pistol on leg is assessory pack lol
The grenades are about right for V40s.
V40 Mini Grenades are the same size as a golf ball

You scared me with that cardboard base...

That may be Burnout but he was a modern comic character and an exclusive toy

Ripper has the biggest melon of the original 3.
MONKEYWRENCH HAS THE SMALLEST. LOL.
@@christianhafer9819 Hey, you're right! Now I remember...
@@glennb33 Indeed. Monkeywrench is cool, but his head is definitely not in proper proportion to his body.
DUNGAREES!
Awesome video. Thank you for all of your videos. Yes, why is the gun not painted black? Take care.
Fun video! Thank you!

As a kid I didn't know what sort of engine that was he carried on his back, but now, as an ex-biker, I recognise it as a 2 stroke motorcycle engine.
