Dude just sizzled. He was (still is) absolutely electric onstage. Offstage/off drugs: intelligent, quick-witted & charismatic. Almost every 80s kid has a special place in their musical heart reserved just for Billy! 💪🏻 👊🏼
Billy Idol and Steve Stevens on lead guitar - what a killer combo! Steve Stevens was a fully realized studio guitar legend - he played on Michael Jackson's Dirty Diana - just like Eddie Van Halen, who played on Beat It, and Slash, who played on Black or white. Steve Stevens was on their level. What a live show they played back in the day!!! I think it can be said that Billy Idol never had any problems hooking up with the ladies - they all wanted him, and it was the 80s...
Google Rock Star and THIS is who should come up. He was a true one( and still kicking it today well into his 60s) and absolutely legendary. Love seeing that smile that shows up when someone watches him and hears him sing for the first time. His stuff may not be super feel good, but there's ALWAYS the guarantee of an adrenaline rush when he starts in, don't even have to be moving to feel like your running a marathon. Takes your breathe away that's for sure. 😄
Billy Rocks i seen him two times and one was that year they did that video and it was Electric ..it makes me so happy to see young ppl like yourself discover the music from the 80's it was great...thanks
A mighty performance from one of rock's sometimes underrated artists. I agree how the band.and audience are bonded. They are almost literally on the stage with them! And at one point I was sure the guitarist would be taken in by the front row and bodypassed around the hall. Billy Idol not only is the business, but he can do smart things too like slow the acton down--not easy--and then turn the heat back up again. The crowd love that.
One of my favorite songs from early childhood, the guitarist Steve Stevens was also the guitarist for Michael Jackson for awhile including the song and video Dirty Diana
The guitarist is Steve Stevens. You’ve heard him more than you think. He also played guitar for the Top Gun anthem. Billy is everything Elvis with a hard rock edge
You've got a good ear. That's Steve Stevens, he co-wrote that song and he's a highly underrated guitarist. The bass, keyboard and drums are all great in this too, (you'll sometimes see the keyboardist commenting on these reactions), but I saw them live way back when they were playing university clubs, and even then he was very impressive and inventive with when, where, and how he played.
Hey life with quay loved your reaction to november rain my favourite band growing up and still is to this day... they are the reason I picked up a guitar and never stopped playing it. Rebel yell is another classic from that era aswell this is when music had heart and soul in it. The 50s 60s 70s 80s and 90s was the best eras for music period.
Also @Quay Reacts Billy Has said in interviews he was very inspired and liked Prince's work, when he first started he was trying to create a punk style of kinda Donna Summer meets Punk. He wanted a different style. He did one show in a small club where he was wearing black leather high shows and a speedo and leather jacket and i believe that is more of the Prince influence. He also has said he has been inspired by Madonna from this era. Check out Flesh for Fantasy; i forgot to list that one; that song was his sensual punk that he has said he wanted to do for punk and did it his way. Its a great song!
Great reaction! If you want to dig deeper into Billy Idol, the song "Eyes Without A Face" is his best!!! (Not The Radio Version Which Shortens The Song ).
Brilliant reaction try Billy's Mony Mony or catch my fall they have awsome videos too the gutair player is Steve Stevens who Co wrote rebel yell and other Billy idol hits together they are electric
Great reaction. I liked your post reaction commentary. Had substance to it. Left-field observation; I always find myself kind of mesmerized by your teeth. You have such an impressively wide set with no discernible canine teeth. How I envy them. :)
Nowadays music just isn’t in the same level of greatness.. there are a few... but. It’s all computer generated and more technology related than musical instruments related.. IMO
I highly recommend more of his music! White Wedding, Eyes without a face, Dancing With Myself, Blue Highway, Can't Break me down, I need you to save me now, And BItter taste newer song
I feel like I'm catching up I and the same picture you have in the background right above my head I mean what else you going to do at 1:00 in the morning when you can't sleep I can't turn on the power tools neighbors get a touchy sorry rambling big smile big smile✌🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
I really appreciate your reactions because you don't (seem) to act. And the sound is always great! At least, i think that was you i seen before, at least this video.
in the 80's musical instrumental skills meant something especially if you were a virtuoso or someone who could really shred and enhanced vocals due to a lack of enough talent by studio trickery was looked down upon. you either had the skills or you were not accepted. there were no tricks, autotune, or any bs. now, anything goes as there are no bounderies or ethics and excluding a few artists, its really a sad time.
You really need to find a video with a little more energy. The melody was so soothing, I started dozing off. What’s weird is when I woke up, I started to sneer and pump my fist at my wife. My hair was kinda spiky too. Just sayin’.

The 80's kicked soooooo much ass!!!!
You can't overstate how huge this song was!
Dude just sizzled. He was (still is) absolutely electric onstage. Offstage/off drugs: intelligent, quick-witted & charismatic. Almost every 80s kid has a special place in their musical heart reserved just for Billy! 💪🏻 👊🏼
Billy Idol was all ENERGY and ATTITUDE!!!!!
This song was always so hype!!

70s -80s rock was the best ever...
this is the punk rock sound from uk
You hit it...bands and fans feed off each others energy. It is infectious both sides. And even at jobs. People can just feed off each other.

"Mony Mony" live version. If this song does not make you move, you are dead.

This is a great song. I have enjoyed watching your other reactions to Billy Idol. Thx for the content.
I saw them live in the 80's. It was awesome. He's a huge Elvis Fan, he even copied his little snarl, whip lash smile.
IDOLIZED
Should do Billy Idol-Dancing with myself
