I remember dancing to this music. I thought it was so such a powerful beat, and I still do. I was racking my head trying to remember the name of the song because something in my brain told me I needed to listen to it.
The look on your face when you think about your parents back in the day is amazing, I love it! It's little things like that, that will bring a smile to someone's face. Keep 'em coming!
Man! Rock Steady was good, but the Whispers were really known for their Pre-Disco slow songs!!! Check out "Chocolate Girl" and "Just to Wet My Feet!!!" See while we were Jammin and getting Funky in the 70s, we were also Slow Dancing Just much! I was definitely ready when the beat slowed down! I was about that Dipping and that Double Dipping!
Was feeling a bit blue this morning, and this clip came up … just what the doctor ordered! You have such a great heart and vibe!… and I love your laugh”heee heee heee heee”.
Ok, this 64 yr old has been waiting a long time to dance with someone to this song; someone who has as much fun as I do! Thank you, and don't think we didn't notice the close-up eye invitation! LOL YOU are a good dancer! I love this song too.
The Whispers had been around long before this song became a hit, but it was this song that really put them back on the charts. Practically every dance club in America was playing this song almost every night.
THIS is one of my favorite jams! Woo hoo! Showing off our dance moves at the roller skating rink with this one! Yeah! ! Still love this song when it comes on the radio!
I grew up in Ohio listening to The Whispers and dancing to their music in the 70's & 80's at the clubs. After moving to California, imagine my surprise when a co-worker said to me, you know my husband is Nicholas Caldwell of The Whispers? I almost screamed! I bowled with her on a league and he came to watch. It was such an honor to meet one of my music idols, a truly great guy! Sadly, we lost him in 2016. RIP Nicholas
I was a teenager when this came out and thought to myself"Those two look alike. I wonder if they're brothers" 30 years later I find out they're identical twins...I'm so slow,LMAO!
I love The Whispers, and they have so many good songs.Emergency,Keep On Lovin’ Me,Contagious,Tonight,It’s A Love Thing,Some Kinda Lover,In The Raw,Sweet Sensation,I Can Make It Better, etc.
@ Matt Ekre I just left a comment for him to do Bad Company's version.😁 I looked it up, and he hasn't done a reaction to it, but has done Bad Company's other hits. Unlike you, I immediately recognized the song title as an old rock tune, but I couldn't remember who it was so Googled it. Memories of cruising around in my friends 65 Mustang came rushing back as he was the one who turned me on to Bad Company. 👍✌
Man, this was all over the radio back in the summer of 1987. I turned 11 when this came out and I remember visiting family in California that summer. This song, LA Bamba by Los Lobos, Luka by Suzanne Vega, and Only in my Dreams by Debbie Gibson were the songs that summer
I can see how you turned out the way you did. Mom n dad always dancing, never letting the flame of passion for living go out. My parents played music in bar bands but there wasn't much in the way of dancing, and I find myself too serious until I start to groove. I used to go hit the bars, get trashed until the inhibitions dropped, and go burn down the dance floor. Vincent Price had that line in thriller about the having the soul to get down. That's what I'm talking about. Dancing taps into joy.
I’ve had a long , hard week and people let me down for my birthday BUT, this video makes up for it! Thank you for what you do! Put a smile on my face and in my heart! I’m an 80’s lover and this song was it! 🥰😁
I didn't think it would be possible to love this song more than I do, yet here I am enjoying the HECK out of it because I'm having THE best time watching you. Thank you Jamel.
You took me right back to the club, Friday and Saturday nights. I may have seen over 50 rock concerts in my day but I love all types of music. This was great! Rock Steady, my friend!
Aw man, taking me back to under-21 dance night and me being way too shy to ask the college gals to dance. 😊 Of course nothing's changed, but every so often there's a gal who asks me. Thank you ladies for being kind. 😉
Still rocking steady on the same vinyl single I've had since I was a kid. Do I feel old now... sure, but I wear it as a badge of honor growing up with some of the best music 🎶 have a great day J.
This is just what I needed today! Another jam from when I used to dance on the tables at the club! Now my geriatric behind is confined to chair dancing, but I still enjoy the music. Thanks for this one, Jamel!
Great throwback right here!! Jamel, you straight up make me happy- your laughter, moves, and just YOU-💙 I am disabled from a very young age- Rheumatoid Arthritis hit hard in my teens- but don’t think I can’t do a good sit down dance, like our friend Mr. Video- I got the rhythm- thanks for ALL that you do- ❤️💙👍✌️
I started (mobile) DJing in 1986, and this came out in 1987, and for at least a decade, I don't think I had a gig where this song wasn't requested. Some wedding receptions would have me play it 2 or 3 times. I'm surprised it's not better known today, because it was a MONSTER in the late 80s and through the 90s.
YES! THEY WERE ROCKIN, THAT WAS THE DANCE YOUR PARENTS WERE DOING. OH MY, IM 64 AND STOOD UP WITH MY EAR BUDS ON AND STARTED ROCKIN 😃😃😃😃😉😙 THANKS JAMEL!!!
Awesome reacton! Another group produced by Leon Sylvers iii along with his epic Basslines. "I can make it better" is another jam. Cheers from Australia.
LeVert - Cassanova and Jasper Isley - Caravan of Love a definite must react Jamel. Please do add to the list, you'll dance to the first and then feel powerful positive love vibes when you hear the second song request.
WHISPERS, 4-EVER, & EVER ! BETWEEN '72, & '92, I SAW THEM 10 TIMES. I WISH IT HAD BEEN 100 ! A Whispers Concert was unlike ANY other I have ever been to. 🤩 LOVE THE WHISPERS❣💃💃💃 One of the few great classic groups from the late 60's whose golden talent kept them current well into the 90's and beyond. Thanks Jamel✌
Omg, you are so inspiring. Love to watch you dance. Such a happy person that you are, you make my day!! Love your hat that says: “Just Be A Nice Human”. Powerful but simple words and you’re right, they all remind me of Steve Harvey. Great song to dance to. Loved it.
I was listening to hit classics at night, I fell asleep and when I woke up I heard this and it was about to end, I listened to that song 20 times that day
So excited when the notification popped up! This has been my go-to for the past few months- gotta listen to it 3-4 times in a row it just makes me feel happy! Love your dancing, reactions and comments Jamel! Shout out to your parents 👋🏾👏🏾🥰
This just makes me smile! This was a jam back in college. Please react to Casanova by Levert. Same energy 🔥 Big hair, tiny black dresses & everyone doing the same moves on the dance floor.
I was 8 years old when this song came out. In the almost 34 years I've heard this song since then I never realized until now that they weren't a "young" group. I seriously thought that they were in their twenties. Somehow I have never seen what they looked like until today.
Jamel be jammin' 😊. Oh, the memories of dancing to this song. Everyone in the club was dancing to this song. Another good song by The Whispers is, "And the Beat Goes On".
So classic!! The best thing about having you back in the bathroom is the amount of dancing we get. 😂🙌 (your poor knees 😩😅). (Edit: Mama is gonna love this one! 🤣🥰. Sending to her now.)
Boy that was THE song to dance to back in the day and the rock was an actual dance. 🥰
You took ALL of the words right out of my mouth! 😆
yes it was
The Whispers were from Watts and they did the Motown thing...dressed up the same and did the dance moves...and their songs were killer.
I remember dancing to this music. I thought it was so such a powerful beat, and I still do. I was racking my head trying to remember the name of the song because something in my brain told me I needed to listen to it.
@@jackiekrupp355 Steve Harvey join the group 🤣
I could never get enough "Rock Steady". Excellent tune!
Another good one is McFadden and Whitehead, "Aint No Stoppin' Us Now "

Was feeling a bit blue this morning, and this clip came up … just what the doctor ordered! You have such a great heart and vibe!… and I love your laugh”heee heee heee heee”.
Oh man, LA Reid and Babyface could sure produce some incredible music.
Next song to check out is And The Beat Goes On that dance was called the Wop
Ok, this 64 yr old has been waiting a long time to dance with someone to this song; someone who has as much fun as I do! Thank you, and don't think we didn't notice the close-up eye invitation! LOL YOU are a good dancer! I love this song too.
@Angel Bulldog ooooh we could tear up a dance floor. Lol

First big hit produced by Babyface. First of MANY!
THIS is one of my favorite jams! Woo hoo! Showing off our dance moves at the roller skating rink with this one! Yeah! ! Still love this song when it comes on the radio!

Thanks for doing this song. It was my wife’s favorite, she passed 5 years ago and this brought a smile to my face.
The Whispers "Rock Steady "will get you dancing even in your wheel chair.
I love The Whispers, I had the cassette in my 1985 Camaro!! I miss the 80's!!
I had a 69 Camaro in the 80s. Wish I still had it.
Like Steve doesn’t have enough jobs Jamel lining him up with another gig

MAAAN thanks for the reminder of this great song!!! We been steady rockin to this here in Germany too :) Great memories!!!
JAMEL! It's this late 70's/80's SOUL RnB that made growing up in the 80's so GOOD!

Aw man, I clicked quickly because I saw "Rock Steady" and immediately thought Bad Company 😂
Same. Except I was thinking Aretha Franklin.
Same here…that’s the only “Rock Steady” I’ve ever known
😆😆😉 .. Both good songs though. In totally different ways, obviously.😊

I can remember listening to 102 Jams and Power 97 driving to school in about 1988, 89, 90. This was a staple for RnB. Miss this music!
I just love The Whispers to death 💖💖💖

Amazing how the singer kept a young sounding voice as he aged through the decades.
I'm working too hard today and this one is putting me in a great mood. Great reaction. We love ya.
Jamal, you are too darn adorable. Learning the dance moves in the video and such. You brightened my morning this morning.
Ahhh...the summer of 1987! I bleached my flat top and was sporting a Spuds McKenzie t-shirt, and you could not escape this song...great times!
