I’ll be watching Halloween on Halloween with my father since he likes the Halloween franchise 👱🏻♂️🔪
Great video, I've been thinking about these and the Elvira one haha
I have the Elvira’s Haunted Hills release, and it is also fantastic!
Hi there I have the Italian Halloween 1- Resurrection Blu-Ray Boxset. But should I buy or is it worth buying all the Shout Factory 4K Blu-Rays with the Blu-Rays in?
Yes they look and sound amazing
They absolutely are. They look and sound great. Halloween and Halloween II are particularly awesome sets. 3 discs each, multiple very different cuts of each film. I think it's cool that Halloween II includes a 4K disc, a Blu-ray disc and a DVD disc. I would think these are "definitive" releases of these movies. Like Army of Darkness with 4 discs. What else could they possibly include?
I got them all 👌
I plan to collect all these 4k editions I started collecting them today and just ordered 1 2 and 4. Next pay check I will pick up 3 and 5 then lastly of course the boxset of 6 7 and 8.
Awesome! Congrats on starting the 4K collection!
The other Halloween films 6 to Rob Zombies 2 are being released in 4K by Scream Factory October 2022 apparently
Really? I haven't heard that rumor yet.
@@HunterBoldingVideo yep apparently they are guess we will wait and see
@R R so is Resurrection
On Halloween I’ll be watching Halloween with my boyfriend!
Does anyone know if the blu ray discs in these are the same as the 2014 box set quality wise?
Quality-wise, these are the same blu-rays.
I must have 6 different versions of Halloween now. Dvd, blu ray, 4k, 'new' 4k, collectors edition, etc.
Facts
First time looking to buy the first three, or four, but I'm an extras junkie so.. any current recommendation for either individually or a set? Also my All Region Blu-ray player probably doesn't play 4k. Not sure. (So it doesn't have to be 4K.) Thx
Even if you don't have a 4K player, these releases are still the best readily available way to find Halloween 1-5 on Blu-Ray. I'd get these from Scream Factory.
If you're just looking for the first 3, Scream Factory has individual releases of their Blu-rays, but you might have to track them down. And they don't have an individual release of Halloween 4 or 5.
Thanks
Love them but can't afford them
Does anyone think Scream will release these in a box as they did with the Blu-rays?
No idea because the new movies only complicate things with rights issues and all that.
@@HunterBoldingVideo Ahhhh... yeah, because the latest ones are Universal properties. But maybe Scream could work on a box with just the first five or six for fans that didn't buy em individually....
@@user-kv3ue5fp4c I think their special "collector" thing for it was the hard boxes and then the 95-02 box set.
@@HunterBoldingVideo No doubt - you're probably right. Those hard boxes are definitely cool; I love the way Season of the Witch (the only one of the 4Ks I picked up) looks and feels when you take it off the shelf.
And, you're also right about that box they put out with the remaining sequels.
I'm really torn about this being a Halloween fan and physical media collector - you see, I've always thought the definitive version of the original Halloween was the THX DVD from 1999, notably in terms of color timing. It's the disc I usually reach for every October 31st because to me, this transfer LOOKS like Illinois in the fall. You can clearly see the difference during scenes like when Laurie or the girls are walking the neighborhood, comparing the THX disc with, say, the Blu-ray variants or even Lionsgate's first UHD release. Those versions are far too cool and bright, and even remove some of the mood towards the end when Michael is stalking Laurie through the kitchen.
Now, I did pick up Anchor Bay's first Blu-ray release of Halloween when it first came out, just as a mere curiosity, but that transfer was based on the DiviMax DVD master from 2004, rendering the image far too bright and "polished." All the autumn color push was removed.
I'm on the fence about picking up the original on Scream's 4K for this reason, and when it comes to the sequels, I'm only really interested up until part four (I can just tolerate five). I never got into Zombie's remake(s); as such, I own two and four on DVD (I replaced Season of the Witch on DVD with Scream's 4K).
Do you think I should pick up the Scream Factory 4Ks of one, two, four and five? I would still hold on to the THX DVD of the original....
Iron Maiden :D
🖤🔪🎃🖤🔪🎃🖤
I paid $10 for all 5 of them due to someone not knowing the value of what they were selling
That's a hell of a price for the 4Ks! Congrats!
....i have to say that the better the picture quality on a lot of these older movies the less scary and demented the movies become.....i think 4k is bad for alot of horror movies.....i'd rather have them downgrade the quality to like vhs level....either way i like your channel bro
Thanks for watching! I agree somewhat, I think as long as they keep the grain and general "dirty" look of the films, 4K is fine. There is nothing like watching an old horror movie on VHS though.
Yes i feel like keep the grain and just stick to remastering the sound
no...4k is a scam to make you buy all new discs again......blu ray, with a nice blu ray player and tv is an amazing picture...dont fall for 4k scam.....
That's not true at all, but you do you.
HALLOWEEN 3 SUCKS PAL BADLY AND IT HSAS NOTHN TO DO WITH MICHAEL MYERS NOT BEING IN IT ITS JUST THE STORY IS BORNING AND LOUSEY REASONING BEHIND THE STORY AWFUL
All caps doesn't help your point.
It was supposed to be a totally independent film. The Myers saga was supposed to be over after he burned at the end of 2. The fans wanted Myers back so they made Halloween 4 and the rest is history
Halloween 3 is a classic and you gotta have it if you wanna have complete collection
Hi there I have the Italian Halloween 1- Resurrection Blu-Ray Boxset. But should I buy or is it worth buying all the Shout Factory 4K Blu-Rays with the Blu-Rays in?
If you have a 4K player and want to upgrade them to 4K, I would 100% buy them.
@@HunterBoldingVideo Thank you for the reply
