Halloween 6 is actually a nice little time capsule of a movie it captures the look and feel of the mid-90s really well
Where halloweeen H2O is awkwardly 90s
I still have a lot of nostalgia for H20 because it was the first one I saw in the theatre. This is the best version of Laurie Strode and still imo has the best ending in the series. I agree with the Scream comparison but I don’t feel it’s a detriment. The mask is probably one of the worst in the series but the pacing of the movie helps you to ignore the mask issues. I still don’t get why they thought a scene with a CGI mask would work though?? 😂
Speaking of the Faculty, that movie really needs a 4k hard box transfer. Really good movie.

Not to mention the hard time I have explaining why Michael has no effects from Halloween 2 in H20 lol no burns or nothing, how the hell do I even explain that to a casual viewer? 😂 I prefer them to ignore part 2 rather than what they did with H20

I think those Halloween movies are a worthy addition to your Collection Ken they may not be the best but they do complete the other Halloween movies

Wish I could just own H20. I think it was a waaaayy better ending for the franchise than Halloween Ends. If you want to sell it to me maybe you can get at least some of your money back lol

Resurrection is better than Ends. As you said it’s not the best Halloween, far from it. But I enjoy it for what it is. I might even put it above Kills.
I will get this at some point. Out of those 3 I've only seen H20 but i've got the rest of the collection and i'm a completist so have to get these so it looks good on my shelf ;-)

Any big differences between this and the blue ray edition. As in picture quality? I am more towards the blue ray because it has all 12 movies. Any thoughts on that?
The shaky webcam stuff in Resurrection looks horrible.

I just picked up 3-5 (already had 1-2) and watched them all in the last couple of weeks. I don’t think there’s a bad one in the bunch. The only one I’ve never seen is Curse, so I think I’ll pick this up if/when it goes on sale.

If you don’t think 5 is bad, you’ll be perfectly fine with the others, two of which are crap, as stated above.
Curse is worth it and H20, because the transfer is so good.

I need all of them anyway and they cost 35 $ each by themselves. I just got the older ones and they still have covers 3 was just printed by Amazon. Put them on your list on Amazon and watch they go from 35$-25$ back and forth just pay attention. Had to get a couple from fye

I couldn’t justify that price if they boxed my three favorite films of the franchise as a bundle, let alone these ones. That’s why I waited on getting any of them until the price was appropriate.
If you count the producer's cut as a movie, then I can see the justification for the price.
I still say Scream Factory should make a box for the first 5 movies

how is the picture quality on the blu-ray discs of halloween 6 both cuts because someone else said it was terrible i only have a blu-ray player.
I didn't pop those in, but they're both 4K Scans, so I'm sure they look great.

Could never stand how you can see Michaels eyes so clearly in H2O. Mask was terrible.

I like Curse but the other 2 I’m not the biggest fan of, I actually find as a timeline, the newest timeline is the best quality overall, the other two timelines are tarnished by bad ideas and a really horrible movie in Resurrection lol

I don't think H20 is really hated but 6 and 8 are especially 8 lol. Part 8 ranks up there with Rob Zombies H2 and Ends as 3 of the most hated.

My local dvd store is selling this for $170🇨🇦 which is way over priced. That’s almost $60 a movie 20 bucks more than the 1-5 4ks. 6 is really the only movie I like out of these 3 so unless they drop the price big time this won’t be in my collection anytime soon.
I must have my Rob Zombie.. But I can certainly live without Busta Rhymes and Resurrection
All things considered, with the power of hindsight and evaluating everything from right now...I would probably say the 4 I like the most in terms of the storytelling and overall vibe are actually probably the first two films, and then the pair of Rob Zombie films.
I know that is a hot take...but if you take it as a complete story. H1 and H2 are great and satisfying and complete. H07 and H09 are complete(as long as it is the Director's Cut of Halloween 2 with the proper ending)
4, 5, and 6 would have been better if 6 was made in 1991-1993, closer to the 5th and as a more direct sequel with Danielle Harris back and in a more prominent role as Jamie.
H20 is solid, but only if it had ignored Halloween 2, the lack of evidence of the burns just doesn't help it feel like a continuation of the first two. It would be better as just a continuation of the first, with a better mask that had blacked out eyes. In and of itself it is a better "revisit Laurie years later" than the new movies.
Resurrection very much kind of ruins that story arc though. I like the idea of Michael finally getting Laurie...I don't like all of the Busta Rhymes camera goofy stuff.
Zombie's pair of films feel like they tell a complete two-part story just like Carpenter's original two films. Very different and unique, but satisfying.
2018, Kills, and Ends as a "trilogy" is frankly very very disappointing. It gets worse with each entry in a lot of ways and feels too filled with "modern messaging"

H2O is nothing like scream I don’t get why just because Kevin was involved it’s automatically considered to be like scream there’s no comparison it’s like saying Jaws was like E.T. It’s not even close
I agree. I just watched H20 tonight and there’s almost nothing about it that’s like Scream other than being filmed in the 90s. It’s a comparison that makes no sense to me.
These films go up massively after what happened with the new trilogy, you have to own these if you have first 5 of the set so it's complete.
Halloween Ends made it to the bottom of my list but that didn’t elevate these films at all. They all still rank exactly where they always have, and they’ll never be must-owns for me, regardless of any others I may or may not buy.
I bought the 3-pack Blu-ray set for $11 because H20 is relatively worth having and it’s the only way to get it without spending more money than a single film will ever be worth.

@@SumDumGy Curse is definitely worth having aswell, that one actually captures the mood of Halloween better than alot of them. Since I'll never ever watch the new trilogy again after selling them, that's why this trilogy went up for me.

Yeah. Her performance in H20 is spot on and very believable.
I will say I like h20 more than the scream movies. Never was a big scream fan for some reason.
It makes sense that H20 is not set in Haddonfield. Why would Laurie still live in Haddonfield after the events of 1 and 2?

Again with the Scream complaints... Even The Faculty has some Scream elements. It was a product of the times just like many 80's horror movies are a product of their time.
What about The Burning? It's just a Friday the 13th knockoff. Yet, it is praised. Because it was the times and people understand that.
It should also be noted that Joseph Gordon Levitt was not a well known actor when this movie was made. So you can't really compare him to Drew Barrymore from Scream.
It makes sense for sure. I was just saying it lacks those Halloween vibes in California. Also, the difference between your Faculty and Burning comparisons is that Halloween was already an established franchise, it shouldn't be ripping from anything else.

Yeah, I guess... But he really didn't break out as a movie star until after Mysterious Skin, Brick and The Lookout. Stuff like that.
He kind of reminds me of Christian Bale in that way... In that it took years for him to establish himself. Which Bale did with American Psycho, The Machinist and Equilibrium.... Before landing the Batman role.
I really like this box set. These movies are WAY better than the new trilogy imo.

JLC told the producers that she would only come back for Resurrection if they killed her off as the beginning of the movie. She was pissed off with the Weinsteins.

In Halloween 6, Paul Rudd/Tommy Doyle was NOT filming Kara. He was filming the Myers' House, because he knew the Thorn alignment was happening that year, and was on the lookout for Michael returning home. Creepy yes, but they were obviously grooming Tommy to be the new Loomis, as Pleasence was in failing health then. Dan Farrands talked about alot of the action scenes in the original script cut out to work around Donald's frail condition. Still... that scene in the house with Pleasence & Kim Darby, with Pleasence explaining Michael's evil is one of his finest scenes. He still had it. RIP.
The only decent one out of this set is Halloween 7 (I refuse to call it H20) its the only worthy sequel out of the 3. I just paid a lot of money for 2 & 3 on Steelbook as I am a huge fan of the franchise, but I refuse to pay for this set as its skyrocketed in price for some reason & only has one decent movie in the set.

I had to do away with my hard slips. Even if they weren’t overly thick and take up too much valuable shelf space, there was no consistency to them as the original film comes with a standard slipcover if you buy it from Best Buy.
I doubt I’ll ever buy these. I have the Blu-ray’s set I picked up for $11. If split up, I’d consider H20. Otherwise, unless that price drops to less than half some time next year, I’m good where I am.
Laurie “only” go through three deaths in the new trilogy’s history. She went through three deaths and then escaped death herself, three times, against a relentless, unstoppable murderer as a young teenager, while protecting two young children. To say what results/consequences from that would or would not be realistic is simply naíve in my opinion.
The failure of the new trilogy, particularly Halloween Ends, just means there’s a new film at the bottom of the list for me. It doesn’t change anything about pre-existing films or where they stand. Horrible will always be horrible, regardless of the introduction of something worse.
Hopefully you got a little money for those slips.
@@midlevelmedia I still have them. When I said “do away with” I didn’t mean throw away or get rid of. I pack away almost all my slipcovers, standard and hard, in storage, just in case. I’ve made too many regrettable mistakes with my collecting in the past. Now I just do what I must to maximize shelf space, as I’m sure every collector can understand.
I plan to buy this set but resurrection is got to be the worse in the franchise for me.
I would love to see a Halloween Collection without Season of the Witch in it.
Great set. Love H20 and Curse. Resurrection is better than Rob Zombie's two movies and Halloween Ends.
H20 is my favourite of the 3 so I have sold the other 2. Halloween meets Scream is so spot on Ken fair play with that review.
I do agree with the rotten tomatoes score of curse of Michael Myers. it just bored me.

Halloween 4 The Return Of Michael Myers 1988 Movie has The most Terrifying Michael Myers actor George P. Wilbur but I enjoy George P. Wilbur as Michael Myers more in Halloween 6 The Curse Of Michael Myers I still have nightmares about Him as Michael Myers from Halloween 6 The Curse Of Michael Myers it holds up well I like H20 the second best it's also great Laurie Strode Halloween Story Film it's a better then Laurie Strode BlumHouse Movies I like Halloween Resserection the 3rd most because it's to silly but it's still a fun watch but still not as great as Halloween H2O and Halloween 6 The Curse Of Michael Myers I rate Halloween 6 The Curse Of Michael Myers 10/10 5 Stars I rate Halloween H20 10/10 5 Stars and I rate Halloween Resserection 1/5 Stars I'm going to have My Mom get The new Halloween Box Set when She retires Years from now when She's 60 and I'm 50 Years Old because their is a good chance it won't go down in price

I’m not a fan of Halloween 6, it’s one of the worst in the series. Really enjoyed H20 for what it is and Resurrection is bad that’s good.
Halloween 6 isn't a good movie at all, but it's one of the most Halloween feeling films of the franchise, so I enjoy it for that.
Resurrection is the worst in the series. Busta Rhymes telling Michael the he is “playing Michael” should have been Busta’s death scene but Michael just walks away? What??

Yes but let's be real the big fight scene for a h20 is weak and not as good compared to her battl with michael in 2018 movie combined with the fight kitchen scene on Halloween ends .. h20 should've made Laurie fight and battle michael like she did in the 2018 movie and the fight scene from Halloween ends with her same shirt and pants looking similar to how she didbfrom Halloween 1978 like they cmade her look for Halloween end s. I just don't don't think Laurie h20 had much fight in her compared to David Gordon greebsb films.
definitely would have gotten the puppet master chest....shame....this boxed set will be half off next year....you don't even like these movies
That Puppet Master set is cool, but I'm pretty sure there's only one good movie in that set and that's Puppet Master 2. Lol... I appreciate these movies more after the disastrous new Trilogy

Cool video but this boxset is not worth the price tag bc the only good Halloween in the boxset is Halloween the curse of Michael Myers bc Halloween H20 and Halloween Resurrection suck and not good Halloween films and this boxset is not worth owning just for one Halloween film at the price of 100 bucks plus so keep the videos coming
Definitely get it. It was cool that they included both Theatrical and Producers Cut of Curse. Almost like 2 movies.
