      Howdy, do you folks have any recommendations for installers in the Chicago area that are just as diligent and proud of their work as y'all are? Slammed in whips and refrigerant lines are one of my biggest pet peeves and I've always wondered if an installer would get all pissy with me if I asked them to take time and make nice bends, make the whole install look like someone cared about the overall aesthetic of the house. It just baffles me how much these guys can charge for a while system install and present you with a system that looks like someone did one too many lines before starting the job. It should all look like perfection, but the industry has gotten so full of itself that they think that every home owner will either not care or be too much of a pushover to do anything about it. It's honestly shameful how little pride some of these technicians and installer companies alike take in the work they do. Hearing you make note of this as a company wide standard is probably one of the most refreshing things I've ever heard. I really wish y'all serviced the Chicago area. You would without ANY doubt have me locked in as a customer for life.

    My AC refrigerant pipe under slab was corroded and water leak from hot water pipe leaked into inside, and lost pressure. What is a good option, reroute to attic of 2 story home? Condenser is in the back side of the house. It is old though like 30+ but had been work ok, noisy for sure. We don't use AC that much in So Cal.

    4:46 is there any wall penetration sealants which are more rock solid and looking better? I'm trying to find anything but cannot. Can you suggest anything? I believe there should be great adapters which will seal the hole in a nice way.

    • @nefigushki
      @nefigushki 3 роки тому

      How do you heat your house?
      you will need an air duct and a fan to move air through the duct (normally furnace fan) for central A/C.
      If there's no duct you'll have to get split-systems for each area that requires to be cooled.

    Curious what that all cost the home owner. I've been quoted roughly 6,000 to replace the old unit, flush the line and refill. The funny thing is, if I bought the unit myself, it would cost around 1,000.
    Which means that they tried to charge me around 5,000 in labor and refill, for probably less than a days work, and that was only to replace the outside unit.
    Makes me wonder what a total replacement would cost, since both furnace and ac unit can be purchased for around 2,000.

      Similar situation cost in MI. 6000$ install of a new AC unit. In this video the old unit was from same company, didnt look that old, so why not repair - probably much more cost effective and environment friendly? Even though I'm not trying to be a conspiracy theorist - not being able to get any details disclosed for these incurring cost and plausibility of it from none of the videos so far I've seen - make me still suspect - "Well, it worked so far and the golden goose keeps paying so why worry and give up profit". I'm not saying don't make a profit but I'm also not really keen in financing a lavish business.
