Thanks for watching! Thanks also to Christian and Evan for letting me follow them around all day!
Howdy, do you folks have any recommendations for installers in the Chicago area that are just as diligent and proud of their work as y'all are? Slammed in whips and refrigerant lines are one of my biggest pet peeves and I've always wondered if an installer would get all pissy with me if I asked them to take time and make nice bends, make the whole install look like someone cared about the overall aesthetic of the house. It just baffles me how much these guys can charge for a while system install and present you with a system that looks like someone did one too many lines before starting the job. It should all look like perfection, but the industry has gotten so full of itself that they think that every home owner will either not care or be too much of a pushover to do anything about it. It's honestly shameful how little pride some of these technicians and installer companies alike take in the work they do. Hearing you make note of this as a company wide standard is probably one of the most refreshing things I've ever heard. I really wish y'all serviced the Chicago area. You would without ANY doubt have me locked in as a customer for life.
Just curious what’s something like this run if you want to upgrade from a swamp cooler?
Tuyi
I seen 5 install videos. This the only one i seen the installer set a purg. 🤘rock on good job
Great video! I’m glad I saw this as I was contemplating replacing my previous Carrier AC. But if the technicians have to do everything seen in this video, I think I’m going to leave it to the pros! Lol Thanks for sharing!
Very professional install
Love that electronic gauge.
Great work ! I wish I could learn how to do that :)
I love this!
My AC refrigerant pipe under slab was corroded and water leak from hot water pipe leaked into inside, and lost pressure. What is a good option, reroute to attic of 2 story home? Condenser is in the back side of the house. It is old though like 30+ but had been work ok, noisy for sure. We don't use AC that much in So Cal.
4:46 is there any wall penetration sealants which are more rock solid and looking better? I'm trying to find anything but cannot. Can you suggest anything? I believe there should be great adapters which will seal the hole in a nice way.
Thanks for this brief explanation of installation procedures. I was considering buying a used unit and installing it myself but after watching this I realize this a job best left to the professionals - at least in MY case! Thanks guys!
You are welcome! I'm glad it helped.
That would of been the dumbest mistake ever
suction line inside house part have to insulate or whole suction line insulate?
it's in test please answer me
Impressive: shirt stays clean the whole time.

Hey I was wondering how do you scale the condenser on the noise? Is it loud? I’m debating on putting my condenser on my backyard patio or if I should put it on the roof. Thanks
Just buy a Carrier Infinity system lol
Do you need to change the lines of you change refrigerants? Or, can you just flush the lines?
Thank you, however the low voltage control wires shall be at least 8 inches separated form the power line
wish i could work with you guys
Can you replace just the outside AC unit without replacing the inside furnace?
Yes you can. We typically will recommend replacing the indoor coil when replacing an outside air conditioner, but it is not always required.
Where is your company it of? We need help, been with out ac going on 3 weeks
I assume that this system supplies the entire house with cooling. How are the indoor units or is there a central one with air channels in each room? Τhank you nice video!
Hi thanks for the question. We answer in this week's video: ua-cam.com/video/X5sqsthoGKs/v-deo.html Your question was around the 11:58 mark. It was a great question that led into a discussion about central vs ductless system. Thanks again!
That A.C. unit looks big. How many Tons or Square foot covers?
That’s a pretty basic size condenser . That’s probably a 2.5 or 3 ton unit. It depends what size coil they have as well
Can central air condition unit be put in a house without furnace?
How do you heat your house?
you will need an air duct and a fan to move air through the duct (normally furnace fan) for central A/C.
If there's no duct you'll have to get split-systems for each area that requires to be cooled.
No vacuum ?
At 3:50, what is the can being used to flush the lines?
Rx11 or eco flush

Are air-conditioners usually replaced after 12, 13, 14 or 15 years or usage?
No it’s usually replaced when they go out meaning your compressor is bad. Sometimes they last 20 years or even some cases I’ve seen, from 1997.
You did not purge nitrogen while brazing
3:46 Looks like you're using 134a. What about 410a?
How much the installation
What does this cost
That unit doesn’t look old at all.
That's because it's one hour 🤣
Not sure why you waited to flush the lineset till After you'd soldered into the units. Just take the lineset flush and a bottle of nitrogen to the attic and flush it out from there.
Or flow nitrogen while brazing..
That condenser doesn’t look that old lol
Word of advice. Ask him to wear safety glasses always particularly when working with pressure
@@biblebloopers946 theres always that one dude that doesnt fit in or refuses to work well with others 👆🏼
@@vega28j my brother never had to wear them or my dad and they have been doing it for my brother like 13 years and my dad lol 30 but hes not alive I've only been doing it for 2 or 3 years
Here i thought installing one of these was a wham bam thing,i was wrong.
Curious what that all cost the home owner. I've been quoted roughly 6,000 to replace the old unit, flush the line and refill. The funny thing is, if I bought the unit myself, it would cost around 1,000.
Which means that they tried to charge me around 5,000 in labor and refill, for probably less than a days work, and that was only to replace the outside unit.
Makes me wonder what a total replacement would cost, since both furnace and ac unit can be purchased for around 2,000.
Im
Paying 8,900 this is here in California and I don’t know how to replace that unit lol
@@doughty_vee7824 Wow, that is scary high my friend. I don't know if that's just Cali, or if you are getting ripped off. Personally, I'm planning to get a few quotes soon, but if they are ridiculous again, I will just do it myself. I'm pretty adept at handiwork, so I could probably work it out with some online guides, but I'd rather have a professional do it.
@@Azreal357 everyone is saying 8K even high as 40k quotes.
I believe the 8k-10k is normal out here. But I’ve seen out of state its dumb cheap, so California is just so greedy.
@@Azreal357 yeah If you can do it yourself that will probably save you a few grand.
Similar situation cost in MI. 6000$ install of a new AC unit. In this video the old unit was from same company, didnt look that old, so why not repair - probably much more cost effective and environment friendly? Even though I'm not trying to be a conspiracy theorist - not being able to get any details disclosed for these incurring cost and plausibility of it from none of the videos so far I've seen - make me still suspect - "Well, it worked so far and the golden goose keeps paying so why worry and give up profit". I'm not saying don't make a profit but I'm also not really keen in financing a lavish business.
Dude, I am the same way. I hate wasps. Everything else I don't care about or bothers me.
The voice sounds like the clear eyes guy
What’s the reason for the replacement?
Compressor and unit is old.
Using old lines?
Yes unless there's a leak or the customer requests the lines get replaced there's no reason to
Replacing one you sold them it Doesn't look that old🧐 had mine 22yrs and still kicking it in Bakersfield 🏜️🤠
This one was 20 years old. 👍
Did you use nitrogen while you brazed tho…
What?? They can’t it wouldn’t braze right
@@robertoduran218 lol are you serious? That’s HVAC 101. You run nitrogen through the lines while you braze. It displaces the oxygen inside and prevents carbon from building up in the line and will keep your orifices/TXV/EEV clean and clear.
Hate wasp so scary
How much ?
A shit ton for all that 😂
How much you got??
Wait I am sorry, dnt the factory A/C units already come pre filled, why was he messing with emptying it back out and refill it back up, honest question 🤔
Yes they come pre charge up to certain amount of pounds. But it also depends how long your line set runs is. You might have add more refrigerant.
They come precharged for a 15ft line typically anything more or less and you have to remove/add refrigerant
Not all of them you could order ones with dry cells.
Cool video but this is more of a replacement than an install
How much does it cost?
Typically 5-15 grand depending who you go with
@@robertoduran218 5k for condenser is high
@@MrGiovannihouston not in 2022 its low

Looks like EMS is installing air conditioning.
tough times, one job doesn't cut it. One uniform on the other hand is totally fine.
@@nefigushkipro look
I would insist on putting vacuum on the lines for one hour to verify the lines aren't leaking. Leaks aren't cool. Pun intended.
What vacuum takes 1 hour to pull a unit?
@@ryanlayron7797 right they could use bigger charging hoses to speed the process up
If this video taught me one thing is to hire a professional 🤔, I have no business messing with that 😑
I do a beter job on other people's houses than my own LOL
