Thankyou Jamie for explaining SVG's. I didn't know anything about them until you mentioned them in this video. I'm likely going to use those whenever I'm putting icons into my websites now. You are an excellent teacher.
Great video Jamie! For anyone looking for how to align center: The align center option is for vertical. To align in the middle horizontally click the "Change items justification" button in the Gutenberg context menu
Hi Jamie and thanks for your videos, hitting the bell most times. Now to my question. I recently started with a podcast, and I´m still struggling to create a website to go with it. I see that within social icons there are spotify, but not apple podcast. How do I get an apple podcast icon on my site?
Thank you. I have recently added icons to my new little sites but couldn't put it next to the text. That's great! Off to edit my posts with the text next to the icon. I think it reads better.
I like your videos but am finding block editor the most frustrating thing I have ever used. I thought I would try convert my companies Elementor homepage (and a section of the header) and redesign the with block editor but 2 days in and I think I might just stick with Elementor (even though I am with you on the reasons for dropping elementor). The functionality in this video does not seem to work for me - dragging the second icon into the same row, it just goes above not beside. am I missing something? thanks
@@jamiewp Hi Jamie, I'm using OceanWP. I had another attempt this morning on another test website (also running oceanwp). I noticed, you have to have Gutenberg installed in order to have the Row block, (my other install said to remove Gutenberg because "The Gutenberg plugin may contain non-final features which may not be compatible with some block plugins. Please deactivate the Gutenberg plugin")... No Gutenberg = no rows block. With the rows block, once key thing I had to do to attempt to achieve this video was to switch off 'Allow to wrap to multiple lines' in the list editor whilst over the row (root level)... then it allowed me to put blocks beside each other, however there is a big gap between the blocks - e.g. 2 blocks would take up 50% page width each so text is not beside icon. They blocks do not drop in right next to each other like on this video. I have tried to do this using 'Icon Label' by stackable (4 icon text pairs beside each other) - looks acceptable when viewed as template in themes library but when rendered on web page it puts it into 4 rows stacked on top of each other - the polar opposite of what is wanted.

Hi Orlando - what theme are you using?
