They probably empathized and in light of it, threw everything negative about him away to pledge unconditional loyalty and vilify Tati. They're also concerned about "ruining his life and career" when no one really knows what truly happened. If he's guilty of predatory behavior, what about the lives he's ruined or traumatized? Even if Tati was manipulative, it still doesn't change the fact that JC may have been a predator to some extent. And as for his "receipts", you can delete texts on an iPhone or find some other way to change them to suit his taste and win his fan base back.
