That’s a great point, and many people do like the flexibility to have extra room. That said, suitcases like this really market themselves heavily as being carry-on sized. They are especially appealing for travellers who prefer to avoid checking luggage. As this is already the maximum dimensions allowed by airlines for carry-on, having the expandable feature would completely null that selling point. Zipperless bags also market their relative security and being somewhat watertight. Again, that wouldn’t be possible with an expandable design. I’m not criticizing your preference by any means, just highlighting that the the focus of a suitcase like this is more the security and compactness and not flexibility. There are many options out there though that offer what you’re looking for. 👍
