  • Every story needs a good beginning and, in this video, I find out where it all started for the Brontë family. Come with me as I explore another Brontë location in Yorkshire on a very windy day.
If you have any Brontë locations you want me to visit, please let me know in the comments, would love to hear from you.

I'm truly grateful for the gesture, but please know that your support by watching, liking, and subscribing is more than enough. Some have wanted to treat me to the cost of a cup of tea, and this is how you can do it. Thank you so much for being here!

    --ABOUT ME--
Hello, I'm Kate-a huge fan of the Brontë Sisters for many years. Upon relocating to Yorkshire with my husband, I found myself irresistibly drawn to the village of Haworth, home of the Brontë Sisters and my obsession grew. It was during the challenging days of the Lockdown in 2020 that I decided to channel my passion into action. Disappointed by the lack of quality Brontë-themed goodies available, I embarked on a mission to create my own and my online shop was born.
Since then, I've immersed myself in the world of literature, attending Book Festivals and events across the UK. Inspired by my adventures and encouraged by the enthusiastic response from fellow Brontë enthusiasts on social media, I decided to share my experiences through UA-cam videos.

How befitting that you were there to talk about the wedding of Patrick and Maria and a wedding was about to occur. Lovely! 🎉❤

I couldn't have timed it better if I tried and I was so lucky that everyone was so welcoming too. I was even invite to sit in on the service but felt that wasn't right. I do love a wedding though.

Thank you for taking us to such an amazing, less known place where God blessed the young couple with the divine gift of being parents of some of the most famous writers of the world literature ! Little did they know, at the time ,that they too, will become famous !
    Special place,indeed !

I often wonder how Maria would have felt about her daughter's becoming so famous, proud of course. She had no idea when she died they could even write such amazing stories. It did feel a special place and in the sun it felt so welcoming.

There is a special kind of beauty to be found in the old church cemeteries in England.

Every church I've visited all have the same 'parts' (alter, graveyard, bells etc) but they are all so individual. Plus, when I am alone in them they feel so different to when there are people, and with so many people at this wedding the church was buzzing.

What a beautiful church. I always thought Patrick must have had another side to him when reading his wife’s description of him as ‘my dear Saucy Pat’ lol! I love the music in this video, it reminds me of the soundtrack for the Piano film.

Can't get my head around Saucy Pat, it's like thinking of your grandparents in this way, so wrong. :-) I took forever to choose the music so your comment made me feel so much better. I try and pick for the story I am trying to tell but it isn't always easy with so many copyright rules. Thank you.

This was lovely - I could imagine the young couples on their happy day, and how great to have been able to conduct the services for each other! The recording of the choir brought back happy memories for me of singing that piece (my favourite version) a long time ago....I got married in the 80s and among the choir at my wedding was a nine-year-old girl. Many years later I joined that same choir and was able to sing at her wedding. Lovely stuff! Thank you xxx

I couldn't have timed my arrival better. It was so nice to hear them sing and I felt quite emotional listening to them. Hope you still sing now. Thank you for watching too. xx

@@brontesistersuk I do sing, but in the house mostly; the choir morphed into a youth band quite some time ago, so no more Bach! Never mind, I have a lot of happy memories :)

@@denisehill7769 you could start your own choir??? Singing at home is perfect, you get to sing what you want when you want.

@@brontesistersuk That sounds like an idea!! Talking of music, would you be interested in a video about the sisters' musical abilities? I know Emily was a good pianist and Anne had a sweet voice, but would love to know more. I do remember someone recorded pieces on the Parsonage piano after its restoration, and wonder what pieces the girls played.

    • @brontesistersuk

@@denisehill7769 I saw a video on the Parsonage Facebook page of someone playing. I think a look into the music loved and played by the sisters is a great idea. I don't have one musical note in my body so might need to find help for this one.

I knew the story but didn’t know there was a copy of their marriage certificate and a commemorative plaque in there and never bothered to visit the church even though I lived in Leeds for a long time. Love how I always learn something from your videos.

The church is very proud of their Bronte connection (and rightly so). I was given a photocopy of their certificate too which I now have on my wall. It's always the way, we never visit what is on our doorsteps. Thank you for watching.

I loved seeing this location! I read “The Mother of the Brontes” by Sharon Wright last year and found Patrick and Maria’s romance so sweet. I found the “Saucy Pat” comment hilarious as well, it makes you want to know more about Patrick as a young man! 😅😂
Have you ever traveled to Penzance and seen any locations related to the Branwell side of the family?
Thank you so much for making these videos! ❤

I struggled with the Saucy Pat comment. When I was editing I saw that I even hesitated when I said it. I would love to visit Penzance one day to spend a few days on the Branwell's side of the family tree. Might need to plan this well though, it can get so busy. I am so pleased you are enjoying my videos. Your comments mean a lot to me. xx

I think a wedding on the day you visited only added to the atmosphere of sharing Patrick and Maria's own wedding. Don't you wish you could travel back in time even just for 15 minutes and see it before you!?!
