Thank you so much for this video. This is my next thing to go over as my car has intermittent over cranking. I've done new zooms, throttle body, crank and cam sensors, caps and rotas, so next is fuel system. Fingers crossed this shows something.
Thanks for Watching, I have some more M119 videos if you like to have a look, Fuel pressure is a fun little project to check, good luck and write back here the results...cheers
My CLK500 will not start for the first 4-6 cranks when has been standing for 3d+, then it runs like it just came off the factory line. Your video was very helpful, will start testing now! Thanks
Your input would be appreciated. At idling the fuel pressure was 55 psi , after revving the engine it dropped to 50 psi at idling, during the revving the pressure flactuated between 50-60 psi. After switching off the engine the pressure stayed at 50 psi then the gauge was disconnected.
Hello I replaced my injectors and my fuel pump and filter...still having issues at cold start it shuts off but once it's warmed up it runs fine I just notice throttle response is still hesitant at first if the pressure test is done when replacing those items?
hi again, mine is a 92 500 sl and I am having a hard cold start issue I thought that my fuel accumulator was leaking because if I turn the key on and off several times it builds pressure and starts right up now after watching your video it might be a fuel regulator. Is there any way of tell which one it is?
@@BenzAddiction well, in checking I have no valve like you do on your car you have to get special fittings for the fuel gauge and attach to the fuel distributor not sure where but much more complicated on early models like mine? All research suggests that these accumulators cause the problems I am experiencing. There is a way of testing them but involves getting under the car and disconnecting the rear line back to the fuel tank. I am not going to do that the car is 30 years old might be time for new fuel filter and accumulator just based on age...not the way things s/b done but in this case I think that is what I am going to do?
@@BenzAddiction Ordered the same looking kit from a different Chinese brand. Did you screw the gauge straight out of the box onto the valve Schrader or use one of the adapters supplied?
Your videos are extremely helpful to me. Thank you
You are welcome
Thanks for the video.

Also make sure your fuel is not more than a year old, that happened to me :)
Where is the fuel pump reset button on a 2003 Mercedes SL 500
@@ChristieJones-wh7zw have never heard about this button at all.

I think your regulator is OK. Some minor fluctuations is acceptable.

Hi mate, What year is your R129?
Seems like clk has a more sophisticated fuel system 👍
This Fuel Pump Pressure test and fuel regulator test not only applies to R129 and W209 but most of vehicles built between 1990 to 2022...
Do you have a link for the cheap fuel pressure tester you bought from ebay?

Do you have a fuel gauge? If so testing it is as easy...
