- The United States had 636 mass shootings in 2022, but the May 14 massacre in Buffalo was different. An 18-year-old white supremacist targeted a predominately Black community and the one grocery store that services their neighborhood, killing 10 residents. The history of the community is a similar story in Black communities nationwide. The community that I grew up in is no longer in existence due to gentrification. I'm surprised that there are any Black communities left tbh
