I am glad that you are working with your dad. This is the kind of thing you will never forget. My father and I put together my first go-cart. Fifty years ago.I was 10 years old. I never forgot it.
My dad was a dispatch rider in the Canadian Army, he installed my love of riding, I’m now 77 & still riding my 89 Ultra, & my son rides a 08 Heratage. BEST LIFE EVER!
Brings a smile to my old face seeing a old Shovel being reborn again. A brand new old bike like no other. That's why I love Harleys. You can make them what you want your motorcycle to be. I can't wait till that old girl is fired up and thumping once again. A+ on the jockey shift! It is totally Bada@@!! All y'alls hard work has paid off big time. Almost time to reap the reward of that motor coming to life and gliding down the road on two wheels! I can't wait to watch her fired up and runnin'! Keep riding and wrenching up in your beautiful B.C.! Peace!
It's great to see the next generation being taught the Old-School skills to keep these ole Shovelheads going. I sure hope you girls value the skill-set your Dad is teaching you is a priceless treasure, which is almost a lost art.
Hi 👋, Angel and family, Dads bike is looking 👀 great, love the glass door knob, I have some in my attic, dating back to the 17/1800, Looking 👀 forward to seeing more of your dads build, and the music too, I am going shopping 🛒 today for parts for my bike, I will send you some pics and info next week, keep up the great work Angel, and Dad . France.
Angel your dad’s bike is looking good can’t wait to see it finished up. You guys seem to really work well together. Brings back some great memories of my dad and myself. We built and worked on motorcycles, street rods and dirt late model race cars. I miss him every day. You guys take care and ride safe.
Really enjoying watching your dad's shovel coming together and the two of you working together. Always wished I could have shared something like that with my dad.
Can't believe you two were able to put the engine in the frame! Hope your dad did okay afterwards. Happy to see the bike going together. Been waiting since your channel started and seeing it in the background the first time.
Your oil tank and battery tray look exactly like the tank and tray on my '77 FXE. The battery tray lines up nice with the oil tank but the frame mounts are slightly off but worked
about 3 weeks after the generous 6 month warranty on my '82 FLH ran out the electronic ignition ran out too so I had the HD dealer install points and condenser(which by factory rules he wasnt supposed to do) and it ran exactly the same as the electronic one,the timing was always spot on,I rarely had to file or gap the points, the sun was shining, the birds were singing, there was magic in the air.....
If that's your dad he looks like he earned all of those grey hairs... Two beautiful daughters and hes a shovelhead mechanic.... That will do it to you every time ❤. I love y'all's style the door knob is classy no matter where your from
Hello, I'm sitting with my breakfast coffee. It's finally warm and dry here. The only thing standing between me and a ride is a polishing rag. You're building a beautiful motorcycle and, as always, a great video.👍
I've always liked the blue dot tail lights. Came out of the Hot rod scene and they're illegal here in Georgia but no one cares. Even the cops don't bother with it. Another great video and thanks for posting. As always..... keep on keeping on!
Well that was similar to how my bike was put together a regular oil bag in an fx battery holder without mine bolted up fine to the oil bag.. but I had to make an extension on the rear floor to the left of it to mount to the frame area correctly
I noticed the aluminium pressure plate. If you’re having clutch problems try the original pressed steel one. They seem to work better with disengagement. Love your work
Nice work! I just hope he likes it. Been dealing with my 120R Dyna tail light too. Had to ditch the circuit board and just wire it direct aircraft style. Still needs turn signals to be legal but I just want to ride it for a few miles to decide how I want to do that.
Yea, the more you ride it the more ideas will come to you about what you wanna change and how. And there are so many options to choose from for aftermarket HD parts too!
@@RedRiderCanadaBC Yes, the quantity of aftermarket solutions is mind boggling. Most of my bikes have little if anything available for aftermarket support except for my KLR650. It is almost as well supported as HDs are.
Good to see some folks still make n alter parts to make em fit. Most folks just keep buying stuff. Best part is, none of that electronic crap that the stealership sells today
So that clutch release rod used to be cable controlled and now it's foot controlled, I'm not familiar with the original mechanism but it looks good I'm sure it will work great. Maybe if you get time you could go over the compensator function. That primary looks so nice, did you do a little paint touch-up to the engine? What are the differences in the red and black springs in the clutch basket? Thanks Red,
Yea the clutch was cable operated and on a hand lever originally. And we haven’t touched up the engine paint at all, I just cleaned the dust off lol. The springs were all the same too, just some from a different set.
I have watched a few of your video's and enjoyed them very much. Just got back into biking after about a 15 year layoff and am having lots of fun. I live on the Island but hope to get over to the mainland where I love to ride like the Duffy Lake Road. How is Mr. Crow doing? Take care and keep the video's going. Cheers
Built many sleds & was a factory tech. Couldn't care less about the bike I'm here for the red n that's top class. lmFaooo. Ditch the bananna caliper on the rear It will only be pretending to work anyways. Cheers. 😉

Yea it's great times and memories 😊
I love the jockey shifter with the antique door knob !! ❤❤❤
Oh yes, I remember the days when people installed such handles (with a rose or a spider inside, or a billiard ball)
I still have some of those in my house. Thought the door knobs were an excellent idea.
What a Queen 👑. She is awesome but her dad is the Bees Knees! God bless him 🙏❤.

My first Harley was a shovel head. They are great and noble beasts.
I love mine
For it is written: All roads upon which the mighty Electra Hog rollith are sanctified by it's passing. Bless you, young lady, for your noble calling.

I'm impressed. Nice job !

That shifter is really nice. Classic
Looks nice but I think its to tall and bent too far out. Will see if it bothers your leg when riding .
We fit it to my leg while we were bending it lol
Awesome bike, hopefully you can make it reliable.
That's the plan!

those rubber battery box fasteners are masters at always breaking
Getting soooo close to done!
The Honda CB450 had hollow copper o rings for exhaust gaskets that fit on a shovel head pipe. Try it if they still sell them at the Honda shop.
