  • Side Note: Striving towards a self sufficient garden in the North East of England. Though of course 100% self sufficiency is a term thrown about with varying meanings and for some people, quite contentious. Right now, we choose to buy things to support growing our own, but the question is, if we didn't, would we survive? ;) Thankfully in this video, I'm pottering in the greenhouse without worrying about that.
Join me on this Friday night in the greenhouse series as we take a tour of our greenhouse to check on the latest growth of our tomato and pepper plants. See how these garden favourites are progressing and get some tips on nurturing them for continuous growth. After our greenhouse visit, we head outside to inspect the winter squash plants and look for any signs of slug damage.
    🔹 *What to Expect:*

Being Brits let’s talk weather 😂😂, we have fluctuations between 7c to 32c and then rain in between. My plants in general are doing the pits except celery and I need to find somewhere to put them. It’s just not a steady temperature and they are stressing. No I think the slug collars are insane price here too (just bloody cheap plastic but gardeners are the new cash cow). Fur coat and 😅😅 no Nicholas. Looking fab Tracy and you are really getting loads accomplished. Have a marvellous weekend ahead and happy growing with wine 🍷, Ali 🌦️🌞🇨🇦

Weather all day long! It's consistently inconsistent LOL. That's absolute madness in those temperature changes. The slug collars seem to be doing well but paying twice what I would probably pay for the squash themselves! Nicholas 😅😅 Growing with Wine!! I am stealing that 😅😅 Take care Ali.

Hi Tracy... you're your squash plans are impressive we still have 6 of last years sweet dumplings to eat. I'll be intrigued to see how you break in to the bigger squash...turks turban last year was a nightmare the skin was so thick!!! We growing small ones and butternut squash this time round.

It really looks like it will be a bumper summer in the garden. All that hard work over winter and it’s coming together beautifully. You’ll be awash with squash but that’s got to be a good thing! Copper tape around pots and raised beds is supposed to deter the slimy critters…gives them a type of electric shock. 😂 We have snails but slugs aren’t such a problem, thankfully. Keep up the great work and enjoy that 🍷xx

Awash with squash hopefully. I do think that summers are shifting, we seem to have a few nice days early on and then later summers. Let's see what this year brings! I didn't know that was why people used copper, thank you! Every day is a school day. xx
