My dad was a very quiet and strict man. Never showed much emotion. I took him to this game and during the comeback he was screaming and whistling and had the time of his life. He's been gone a few years now but I will never forget the time we had. Thank you Aztecs players and Coach Fish for the memories.
Fantastic memory. Thank you for sharing! My son and I went to countless sporting events when he was growing up, and this game remains the most exciting game, and by far the greatest comeback, of any game we ever attended together. Viejas Arena was shaking from all the noise. Aztec for Life!
This is the best sporting event I have ever attended. When we were down by 16, a couple students near me left because it was over. I bet they wish they had stayed. Viejas was crazy loud. I liked that New Mexico team too. Bairstow and Kirk were class acts. Bairstow doesn't even complain on the phantom foul against JJ. Great teams, great game, great memories. Thanks for posting. This never gets old.
You aren't kidding when you say it was crazy loud - it was ABSURDLY loud! I've never heard it louder before or since (although tonight's game got close - it was the Kawhi jersey retirement game, and the Aztecs made another comeback win, down by 10 early in the 2nd half).
What a great game, won by a truly great team! Never gave up played with heart! Truly a moment I'll never forget as long as I live! One of the happiest nights of my life so far! GO AZTECS!
Some of the best defense I’ve ever seen in my life with Polee at the top. The shifted and moved as a unit like you never really see and throw in the fact that this was a defensive position Fisher used out of desperation it was a Perfect storm for New Mexico
Coach Fish...what a genius. This guy got me believing in the Magic of college basketball...and what a momentum shift.. San Diego live forever. Go Aztecs
Wow - memories. I was a couple years removed from graduation so I was no longer able to get the "student tickets" back in 2014. This was the game of the year. Happened to score face value tickets the day before the game from a fellow Aztec Fan. Having been to Padres and Chargers games throughout the years, nothing compares to the 12,000+ that were in attendance that night. Magical.
BTW, I hear Skylar has seriously upped his finishing at the rim this past off-season. I mean, what happens to Aztecs basketball if he becomes a 12-point / game kind of guy?
The part where X said "I gotta give all the credit to GOD" was the most admirable part of the whole night! X ws a great player, and a great guy! GOD bless you Xavier Thames!
In hindsight for the Lobos this was a game they didn’t recover from Yes they still won the conference tournament but you win this game and maybe you get higher seeding. Several 6 seeds like UNC and Dayton could’ve made deep runs if things went their way, and Baylor made the sweet 16. The team fell into mediocrity under Craig Neal and haven’t made a return to March since
Fisher had no clue as to HOW to utilize the talent he recruited. Never or rarely seen again would the 1-3-1 with Polee the key at the point deflecting/intercepting passes and making it difficult for the opposing point guard to advance the ball upcourt igniting the energy be utilized

7 years later and it still gives me chills!
Watched from tip to buzzer at a Buffalo Wild Wings in Augusta, Ga. Great, great memory.
Sounds like fun, but 3 hours at Buffalo Wild Wings....it also sounds expensive.
That's a lot of wings.
"Shrigley Makes Me Giggly" sign of the game

I've been coming to this video a lot lately since my Aztecs haven't been playing well this year. This is my all time favorite game.
How about this year? ;)
@@chrisbravo8579 how about this year
One of the great wins in Aztec history!!
one of the best, most exhilarating 10 minutes in sports history. I stormed the court and was so lucky to be here. GO AZTECS!!!
Some of the best defense I’ve ever seen in my life with Polee at the top. The shifted and moved as a unit like you never really see and throw in the fact that this was a defensive position Fisher used out of desperation it was a Perfect storm for New Mexico

I love Shrigley's grin when he's on the line at 12:00 .
This was one of the greatest games i've ever seen.
Coach Fish...what a genius. This guy got me believing in the Magic of college basketball...and what a momentum shift.. San Diego live forever. Go Aztecs

Rich Waltz is the man.
Thanks for posting this epic game. Just need to figure out how to download it.
Best game I’ve ever been to! I had mid court 2nd row seats for it! Was insane!
The SDSU crowd is just bananas, I love it.
Aaron Kemp Actually, I think the skeleton banana had already graduated by then...
Great win by SDSU.
Probably the best they every had
Probably the best they every had
When he made that shot at the end everyone was like "well it doesn't matter any way".
It affected the point spread though, as SDSU was a 4.5 point favorite!
Remember this live and seeing the people in the rafters set up the confetti again. Polee was a beast
Best quotes is at 7:49, also, i grabbed the game ball as we stormed the court :))) what a night to remember
Davis with the steal, Obrian on the move Polee in transition, SAN DIEGO STATE HAS THE LEAD!
And that was you in the red at the end?
Darko4323 did u hide it in your shirt and act like you were pregnant?
best game i’ve ever been to
One of the best games ever!
Lol 10:55 everybody is all hyped and then Skyler Spencer on the right is like "aw yes, great play my friend"
Hilarious. It's a very polite little golf clap, isn't it?
BTW, I hear Skylar has seriously upped his finishing at the rim this past off-season. I mean, what happens to Aztecs basketball if he becomes a 12-point / game kind of guy?
Goosebumps
A Night to Remember: 3/8/14!!!!
So sick!!!

Xavier sweetheart
Maybe the best game in the history of the Aztecs.

Aztecs defeated Lobos in a classic game in San Diego!
No doubt great Aztecs comeback but took a massive collapse from New Mexico too. Game you can't lose if you're the Lobos.
Aztec Force
SAN DIEGO STATE, WINNNNNSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
N SAN DIEGO STATE HAS DRAWN EVEN!!!!!!
And after the game as is tradition the aztecs sacrifices the losing team
7:27 The sdsu mask guy when he was young kid now he’s skinny
9:39 - one of the worst calls to ever happen in any game involving a san diego team #hochuli rule
Yeah, but not the end of the world, other than it happened in last minute. JJ missed one of the two so didn't decide the game. Thankfully.
Reggie Miller was so bored til 6:06
3:40
SAN DIEGO STATE WINS!!!!!!!!!
...then the Lobos went on to embarrass themselves in the NCAA tournament .
I guess the 4 thumbs down are Lobos fans? ;)
