- Abbie has a new skill! For the first time she has control over music in the house just like everyone else. She talked to our Amazon Echo and told Alexa to play music. It was amazing to see the look on her face. We try to find new ways everyday to give her more control over her world.

After you asked that question I totally had to google whether or not their eggs are edible and I will say that there's a Canadian Goose omelette recipe that was the #1 hit that came up claiming that they're pretty delicious... then again I wouldn't want to try to get an egg away from a Canadian goose...

Ill admit it. I'm usually the stone faced one but I teared up when Abbie talked to Alexa. She was so excited, and overcome with joy. I love that your family is always giving her new ways to have control and be independant. You are really amazing people. #kakawkakaw
Also I had a pet goose as a kid! I rescued and rehabed it, then set it free. She was my baby, I loved her!

I really appreciate how you clarified you don't intend to force eye contact with Abbie. Eye contact is uncomfortable for me as well but if someone is farther away I can see more of them in my peripheral vision which is less uncomfortable. 👍

Stimming suppression and forced eye contact is harmful and that therapist really annoys me. You can slap the word therapy on that but it doesn't make it right

Denise W. Summer isn’t a therapist. It’s not necessary to insult anyone. When Asa pointed out that it would be better if she took a step back, she did so. Plus, she and Asa came up with the idea to help Abbie talk to Alexa. We see a tiny bit of what happens when Abbie sees her. We can see on the blog how much Abbie has grown, and every one of her therapists is a part of that.
You don't have to agree with ABA, But don't insult the therapists they have chosen to work with. We are in no position to judge them on that. Eye contact for me is an anxiety thing. The further away someone is, the less intimidating they are, especially authority figures.
LOOK AT ABBIE TALKING TO ALEXA👏🏻👏🏻 She knows SHE did that! Abbie will find a way around ANY OBSTACLE💪🏻 She doesn’t need EASY, she just needs POSSIBLE.

Has anyone noticed that UA-cam has started sometimes playing ads at the END of videos? Kinda weird bc I dont think most people would stay for them at the end...I know I usually click out of a video around the outro so I'd usually miss that ad

We have a flock of them outside of my high school (I live in Alabama) they stand in the middle of the road and cause traffic jams.

We had the squeakiest doors when our girls were teenagers and that’s the way we liked them😜 try sneaking out of that door 😬 Now that they’re grown, my hubby has fixed them😂
When I was little, I was a sleepwalker. One night, I slept walk into our extremely dark and creepy basement. I was having a dream that I was being chased through our basement by this huge creature and skeletons were hanging from the ceiling and grazing my head. I woke from the nightmare IN THE totally DARK back corner of our basement and screamed my head off. My mom woke and discovered the front door wide open (I must of opened it while sleepwalking but gone into the basement instead of outside), she immediately thought I'd gone out the front door and been hit by a car, she got to our front porch and heard me scream again and realized I was in the basement. After that scare she bought this screen door with the hardest lock, you have to twist it multiple times to unlock and it's very hard to do, so I couldn't open it in my sleep (or awake...ouch). I am now 30 years old and after my husband passed away tragically, I had to move back home temporarily....I still can't unlock that front screen door. It prevented me from ever sneaking out as a teen, and just the other day I was about to leave and had to wait for my mom to unlock it for me, and she gave me her "are you SERIOUS you still can't open this 22 years later" face. In my defense....it's really hard to turn and I'm a tiny weak girl lol

That was the biggest smile I have seen from Abigail the joy on her face when she talked to alexa was amazing and since watching your videos you can tell she gone from strength to strength in her life so proud of her and great parenting I applause you
