Man I have to say thank you for this content, every single video (even about basic stuff) I find on R50 is helping me so much. Thank you for this, please keep uploading. Main problem I find about these old bike is that everyone who loves them thinks everyone knows everything about them, and often basics are overlooked, your channel does not. Thank you again, I'm sure I'll learn so much from you! :) Cheers from France
Thank you SOOOOO much for this video!! All your R50 videos are super thorough and helpful to me and I'll be checking them out repeatedly along with any new ones you care to make!
Nice video. Did you check the front faces of the carb flange for flatness? Very often they're warped from over tightening, which will cause an air leak. They're easy to flatten using some wet'n'dry sandpaper with water on a flat surface like a thick piece of window glass.
I really like your videos. Thank you for your easy to understand approach. Was wondering if you could do some videos on how to use a multimeter to check spark plugs, condensor, points, spark plug wires and caps? Thanks in advance. I ride a 1967 R60/2
Very nicely done. Well, except for that point at 18:35 where you mistakenly point out where the "updated needle and seat" is located. You were SO close, missed it by half an inch.
Thank you for the tips, One question, in a r67, same type of Bing carburetors, we have some explosions on the exhaust, the bike also can't run well up to 70km/h, after this speed the engine cough, looks like carburetor issue, what is your opinion ? Thanks again
Thanks. Was very helpful. Need some advice. Righ hand side carb slider drops in (as you mention in video). Left hand side does not - very "sticky". Think its the cause of the throttle getting "stuck" third of the way. No obvious damage to the slider. Many thanks
@@TheBMWGuy Upload the video m8 and I will not only click the bell but I will ring the Bell of Freedom for you! Very informative and thorough detailed job! Congrats!!!

This is a great descriptive video! I wish I had viewed it while rebuilding my own R50 carbs!
Good vid. One point, I would check the float height prior to installing the float bowl cap - normally set to something like 22mm.

Thank you! Great video! I’ve already rebuilt my carbs, but picked up some additional info from this video. I look forward to you next carb video.
Glad it was helpful!
Can you make a video showing how to set the ignition timing of the BMW /2 Magneto system. Stator, rotor, contact points and ATU, the full works.
Hey man do you think you could make a video on adjusting/ syncing the carbs after a rebuild? Just sub'd to the channel keep it up 👍
Nice video.

Hey pal, great video! I would love to see a front/rear shock replacement and maintenance walkthrough as well!
there are a couple maintenance videos on my page that i did on this r50
@@TheBMWGuy Are these in this channel? Because I can't find them (maybe they are not available in EU). Thanks anyway!!

I would say its an ignition advance issue, please consider joining my channel as I provide tailored assistance for scenarios like this
Very informative not such a black art after all 👍

Great video thanks. Are you intending to do a balancing/mixtures setup video?
that video is already done
I'm not finding the follow video on dialing in the carbs. If you made it can you point me to it? thanks

use a small hone and polish up the carb and slide.
I cannot find the adjustment video for the R50/2 bing carburetors.
Forgot to ask... how often should you rebuild your carbs or know when you should ?
Only if your bike sits for a long time or starts running poorly
