Nice video! It's great that you have a dedicated camera operator so that they can move around what you are working on and we can see it from all angles!
Fantastic and helpful channel. Keep up great work. Video with initial carburator setup and tune will be super helpful for many! Also point adjustment and timing setting.
Nice video, thanks. I have a /6 and this seems like it will also work for except possibly for the valve clearances which I need to check the manual for the correct clearances.
This video just showed me I’ve adjusted my valves incorrectly. I put my bike in TDC and as you showed, and though my valves were terribly tight. I though you adjusted the side you put in TDC first? Did I miss something? Great video btw. I’m just lost now.
@@TheBMWGuy I always turn the engine over with kick starter. Plugs out, bike in neutral Gear and turn the engine over till you see OT mark on flywheel and adjust the clearance which ever side has some play in clearance. Turn the engine over again and do the other side. Before you fit a new gasket, put a thin coat of grease on it to avoid sticking on the head. I see that you tighten the adjuster nuts without torque wrench but it is advised not to do so as not every one might be as experienced as you are. Always use a torque wrench. Best wishes. I’ve adjusted thousands of valves on various airheads. I find the way I showed the easiest, I am showing you how a factory certified master Tech does it. Maybe I’ll call out that there is a option to hold it with a wrench.
Thanks very informative .
A video on ignition setup and timing would be great .

Thanks to my wife

That’s in the works. Stay tuned
@@TheBMWGuy hi, any news on the video on carb setup for R50/R60?
@@DaniLichti I’ll do it as soon as I get one in. This is a customer bike not my own
You're doing great! I've done a ton of videos on all things BMW and barely have 400 subs. You're doing something right for sure! - jaysbigadventure
Nicely done. Wishing you all the best with your new channel.
Nice Job. I have a /5 . I feel a little smarter, Thank You
Wow! This is great. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
I always watch for the intake valve to open and then do the screw driver trick if no previous markings were made on the flywheel.
Just discovered and followed your channel. Love the slash 2 videos, good ones are hard to find.
Welcome aboard!

They are the same clearances. I can confirm
I'm about to buy a 1996 r850r. I think it's a good bike. It's my first.
can you share the video on how to adjust the Bing carburetors for a /2. Thank you!
Great video. Could you do a video on R1250GSA shift cam valve adjustment? Thank you.
yes, i will do a video on each service point!
@@TheBMWGuy thanks. I'm looking forward to all your videos.

Watch again.
Both are at TDC. One was on overlap and the other was on tdc compression

Will you be doing a carburettor mixture setup tune?
yes!
Timing adjustment please.
I’ll write it down and do it on my next airhead video
Don´t be stingy, buy a second wrench. It really is easier than holding the screw in place with your fingers.
