This may be the first expansion where I've enjoyed the post content more than I did the MSQ. It's a combination of the MSQ being not as appealing to me and the Raids being that damn good. I can't wait for the alliance raid.
Having played FFXI at NA launch (2003), I'm extremely hyped for the alliance raid. I hope it focuses on the 75 cap era of the game. I know it won't, and that is OK. I just hope they my favorite areas (Zi'tah, ,Ru'Aun Gardens, Al'taieu, and Promyvion)
After playing the game for about 5 years, I finally jumped into current extreme trials. Before this they had intimidated me, but I'm so glad I got over that because they're so fun! I still haven't even seen a single pair of wings drop... except for the Sage weapon, and when I saw it I typed "WINGS" in party chat and got everyone excited lmao oops
The raids, dungeons and trials are so good this expansion. I think I have never played battle content so much than in Dawntrail. Can't wait to level my crafters and gatherers because I heard a lot of great stuff about the questlines too
i haven't finished Dawntrail yet, but I'm watching this video because it's your video! And it'll be helpful when I want to prepare once I'm in the endgame 😀
I unlocked all the fate vendors, farmed the fending set from the new raid, cap my Helio every week with expert roulette, farmed the wings of resolve (91 kills as a tank), won and decorated a med home, and now I'm waiting for whatever comes next while continuing to gear up.
Zepla: I'm returning to FFXIV after a long hiatus (2019). I finished Shadowbringers, but never started Endwalker. Do you recommend starting a new character, or picking up where I left off. I started on PC and then moved to PS4 Pro. What is your take on console vs PC? I'm torn between playing game on Xbox Series X and PC. Thanks on advance for your response. I've followed you for years, and have throughly enjoyed your channel and content.
I have been doing variant dungeons got those mounts ..also extreme farming for my lynxs (done 5) and passed the second ex everkeep two days ago trying to get the wings and fate farming every now and then.. also im back to leveling my crafting and gathering jobs..
A note about Hunts: EU does the "lfg" thing, but in NA we just use party finder (under the Hunt tab). If a party leader has their party listed in PF, they can't manually add you to their party, so spamming "lfg" or "inv" in chat might not get you very far.
I've always, aside from leveling my crafting/gathering jobs, just focused on Paladin. Usually I'll kinda drop off partway through the expansion story (or the patch story) only to catch up just ahead of the next expansion releasing. This time, though, I not only leveled up Viper for the second half of the MSQ (because I'm an idiot who didn't want to waste MSQ experience points), but after the MSQ I picked up Conjurer (which I left at level 16 a looooong time ago) and have so far gotten it up to level 90 while also enjoying a lot of side content I've kinda ignored over the past decade.
Maybe I should get back into ff. Think I’ll have to start from 0 and relearn every class. Stopped at the beginning of endwalker, couldn’t get into it. Lost my hot bars and that killed the desire I had to play this game again
Right clicking your characters name in the character selection screen allows you to upload/download your UI to their cloud. Top right gear of the character select screen allows you to save your character config settings as well.
Hit 100, time for RP! RP is fun if you can get a good mature group that doesn't write smut and are creative using the built in /dice command. So much potential, using different parts of the world for story building.
This is a nice video for people new to the game. Unfortunately for me, it's just a reminder of boring I find end game in FFXIV. I really wish they did more with their open world like other MMOs.....
I resubbed about a month ago after getting the crafting itch again. I'm level 88-ish and I get SO SIDE TRACKED with all the stuff that I'm not sure if I'll get to 100 before Dawntrail ends. At least my crafters are levelling nicely!
Love the return of the puns :) I kinda burned out after finishing MSQ and getting my crafters up. I might try EX 'cause I'd really like the wings, but normal Valigarmanda beat me like a rented mule so...maybe not.
Should finally get all classes to 100 after roulettes tonight! Wanted to get it done before holidaying next week - my next goal is likely to be getting the fate achievements done (so farming for the new fate mount - 130/500 vouchers atm). Appreciated all the puns!

I like that this time around only the Level 100 MSQ Dungeon Minion is untradabe and not the last 3 like in Endwalker. However I wish they had those tradable also by now. Corn of Necessity in Tuliyollal (X:16.4, Y:12.8) is a fun quest to get the Corncob Minion. It's yellow, so easily missable. Also the new PvP Battlepass gives the Oppressor mount, one of FF14s favourite enemies!
I'm currently working on the Savage raids with my static. I have cleared the current extremes plenty of times, but no mounts yet. What I'm looking forward to is the new field operation, although it is still quite a long time away. This is because I got so late into the game Eureka and Bozja slipped from me when they were new content. Not going to let that happen.
I haven't finished the MSQ due to the difficulty of the final normal trial, but you don't need to in order to continue the crafting and gathering journey. So I almost have my BiS crafted for all 11 classes, then I'll make a set of iLvl 710 gear, meld it, and try again.
Im currently working on catching up to current content. I havent played since Endwalker, (dropped due to the server instability at the time) so i have spent the last week trying to finsh Endwalker. Trying to push forward as fast as a healer can go!
I'm getting my classes to 100 but still on the 95 msq. It's such a slog.... But once I do actually finish the msq I'll be back on hunts, relook at my houses (wife and I both have one). I'll probably dabble in raids, but it's never a main thing for me.

I had the brilliant idea of making my own crafted gearset this go around, since I got into Endwalker just as Diadochos was becoming irrelevant and right now Archeo Kingdom is extremely good. But.... lord, those master recipes are demanding. I spent quite a bit of time getting all the books and HQ armor / tools and melding them up, and even so, a trial synthesis here or there reveals the odds on gettting HQ archeo gear is still far from certain.
Lvl 100 on rdm, but so many quests I could waste exp on. So I leveled machinist to 100. Then my 2nd retainer maxed her levels at 72, reminding me that I should grind out my miner. Decided to work on Warrior too, but I'm not comfortable playing with others except in DPS roles.
I have 3 jobs left to level and they're almost done. Normally in the dead time I would level my alt through the MSQ but that would mean playing the Dawntrail MSQ again so... At least Space Marine 2 is coming soon. I did get the sugar glider mount, the Alpaca, and the Mica suit so now I'm just going to coast.
Debating to take a break til the next patch because I'm kinda...tired haha. But I have logged on to learn Extremes so that's I guess what's going on for me haha

Still need to get some jobs up, (outside of sage, I haven't touched healers so its... a grind). Crafting and gathering is always fun, and hunts are great. I think this is the first expansion where I've actually been current with the raids, and they have been so fun. I'm a pretty casual player, but I'm tempted to try the harder difficulties even though I know I will be eating the floor more often than not :'}
Current goals: - Catch the last damned fish in Endwalker zone 5 Ive been trying for since it released. - Finish levelling tank and carpenter to 100 to reclaim my all-around BK crown - Unsynch EW EX7 and get the last lynx needed for Endwalker's combo mount (40 totems deep...) -

for me its easy crafting like hell (as i do already^^) bringing all jobs to max (i started to play last year so all healer done all DoH done so now on the magid dps working^^) doing all sidequests, collecting all triple triad cards basically do ALL in this game possible^^

Frontline. Over and over and over. Don't need any gear beyond a weapon and be >30. But I love taking aggressions that I developed in DT out on EVERYONE! ❤
I reached 100 with my DRG then I started leveling my Viper, then I'll level a healer either Sage or Scholar, then a tank -- my PLD or Gunbreaker, then caster DPS -- RDM/SMN, then a range DPS -- my BRD, then I'd choose which one to level up next -- I really like Samurai. NIN is a meh, too much button pressing to activate a single lackluster skill. I like to like the MNK but the Devs just don't know what they want MNK to be. The other jobs I just don't care about except my Reaper, that job saved the universe, it deserve to sit this expansion out.
If anyone ever wonders why there are big gaps between ZeplaHQ uploads, it's not because she's busy streaming. Oh no. Zepla just requires a minimum number of PPM (that's Puns Per Minute). And a subset of those must be Bun Puns.
i did some savage raids last expansion, leveled everything i had (except crafting/gathering) and collected all mounts i could get my hands on, now after a long break ive lost basically all interest in ff14, i skipped all of msq, am still too lazy to do any crafting/gathering and i lost my house on purpose because i didnt want to log in. now im just leveling my classes again and i dont think i will ever do any content again, i kinda wish i could wipe my memory of ff14 and start anew

No wonder people type LFG in chat when they are being told to. It's as if the game let's you invite people once a PF is up which it doesn't because....code reasons. So no, don't type LFG in chat, open PF and click the hunts tab to join a party or make a new party in PF. If you don't know how to use PF, it's vital if you want to join hunts so it's valuable to learn. I usually click the little chat bubble near the description of a party in PF which puts a link to someone's party in chat. Maybe I'm part of the problem but it seems people will never stop typing LFG. 😂
"type in chat lfg hunt" imagine socially interacting in an MMO, when Party Finder will be full of 'SsSsSsSsSsS' or 'train' parties you can join without forcing the leader to deal with XIV's dreadful chat UI

As soon as I hit level 100, I started leveling the next Job to level 100. I'm about halfway through getting all the Jobs there. I love leveling!

No wonder people type LFG in chat when they are being told to. It's as if the game let's you invite people once a PF is up which it doesn't because....code reasons. So no, don't type LFG in chat, open PF and click the hunts tab to join a party or make a new party in PF. If you don't know how to use PF, it's vital if you want to join hunts so it's valuable to learn. I usually click the little chat bubble near the description of a party in PF which puts a link to someone's party in chat. Maybe I'm part of the problem but it seems people will never stop typing LFG. 😂

Party finder is the most horrible way to look for a party. As it relies on someone looking at party finder at the moment.
