    Craig company spends near mil a year wit carmax very good auction if u don't mind paying over retail! Although their prices are sky high one thing I can guarantee is that every car title is straight from owner to carmax to me... I can not stand a car passed around dealer to dealer! Which is why I never buy from Inc or llc only franchise dealer. My point in all this is carmax will never jeopardize thier auction rep by selling a car that is not a direct owner trade in.

    Craig, at what point does a vehicle have too many miles to be considered a collector car? For example, I have a 2003 MB SL500 w/84K in great condition. Could this car ever be considered a collector with that many miles? Thank you

    • @Klait
      @Klait 2 роки тому +1

      not craig but yes if the car is in mint condition

    • @alexflosho
      @alexflosho 2 роки тому +1

      I’m no expert but I would say 0-25 is mint, 25-50 is great, and 50-100 is good. Heavily depends on the kind of car but an SL500 should almost definitely be a collected car.

      Not that car.They made too many ,and you have too many miles.However you can buy a 50K mile example at retail for $17K.The 2003 was first year example.They didn't make any valuable editions.Again ,collector ? No ,but great driving car ,and it looks the part for sub $18K

    Yes, Caravan also has a program, but the transaction was difficult for my Partner. He sold a Honda Accord to Caravana. Took him maybe 10-12 calls and 2 months to get the check.

      I and few others I know had the complete opposite experience. The appraisal took 30 seconds. Accepted offer. Uploaded all the documents online. Vehicle was picked up the next day and check was in hand for others and I selected direct deposit. Money was in my account before the truck left with my car.

      In the Caravana experience, they treated him nicely, professional and courteous. I overheard alot of his conversations on Speakerphone. The "difficulty" was him having to make 10-12 calls and not getting paid for 2 months. It's typical in the dealer business to be ACH'd within 24-48 hours regardless of buying or selling. Neither of us would ever sell a car to Caravana without the check in hand.

    Actually had something like this work. Bought a clean title S65 from Copart for 15.2k, was in it for 17k all said and done. Needed way too much electrical nonsense. Instead of dumping money, I instead tried my luck at carmax, and they offered me 20k. That car never came home.
