I was one of thousands of people walking around Southbank Centre with a huge smile on my face. My favorite person as Curator, my two favorite bands, The Cure and The Twilight Sad, along with so many other great bands. I was in heaven!! Robert Smith you did a fantastic job!! Southbank Centre, it was great to be there!!
Sort of a musical Hero's Journey. This is the stage where the hero is bringing the prize back home, in this case, to a younger generation. Hopefully, the cycle repeats.
Whenever I watch an interview with Robert Smith I feel like I've walked into my local after a crap trip away and found the brilliant bloke in the corner with the mad hair and thank fuck I'm home
So damn thankful for everything you are a part of and for every chance to hear your opinions....love you and THE CURE for over 30 years. Seen you at RED ROCKS and again in St Louis ....dream come true x 2
I'm low key royally pissed I missed the Cure, Nine Inch Nails, and My Bloody Valentine (and I guess Mogwai too) all playing in the same place. I was sure the universe would explode in the wake of such an event. I thank God, though, that such a conceivable thing actually happened. It makes me happy that many of my heroes are my other hero's heroes. Example, Trent Reznor once said that "The Head on the Door" is one of the best records ever made.
Concrete Blonde and Johnette Napolitano were/are far more musically talented...from those days, than Siouxie ever dreamed of being ...but to each their own.
5,437 miles separate "Hollywood" from London. Two different bands in two entirely different countries. Concrete Blonde, not so successful and not so appealing overall. Stuck in "talented" land to this day. Meanwhile, Siouxsie is not dreaming about much of what you fuss over. Her image is on t-shirts across the globe. Her make-up and dance moves are still relevant. Johnette? Not so much, and only mildly popular within reach of KROQ in LA, at best.
My dream would to get the Cure members from the mid eighties Smith, Gallup , Williams, Thompson, Tolhurst and go back to 1986 and re create that famous concert at the theatre Antique d,Orange in France. The most profound and etherial concert they ever did.
He's a great guy indeed... nevertheless, time to get rid of the make-up and necklaces. Starting to resemble my grandma a bit to much for anyone's good 😊
I wish he'd do more interviews. The guy is so damn charming.
There are loads on youtube from all over the years.
@@NiKOliDANBURSKi I mean now, like retrospectives. But thanks for the suggestion.
Yea I love hearing him talk, I share a lot of the same views as him too.
He´s a genius. That´s what he is.
@@Miblive Agreed, 4,000%.
Best poet in music history. Why nobody ever mentions that is beyond me
Hung out with Robert and his Parents and the band for a couple of days nearly 20 years ago. Nicest people in the world. Super proud memories.

Way to go Robert! You're the man!

Music is like a time machine. It takes you from the present to the memory of what was happening when a song is playing. 💕

The musical time-machine. Spot-on!
I'm starting to think that our physical bodies are our time machines, powered by the 'magic' of life.
