    For the smoothest and quietest operation a stepper motor with a 250:1 ratio gearbox is what you need. Join the Model Electronic Railway Group (£16 PA) and buy their kit.

    Thing that's mysterious about this TT is: Where is it operated from in the 1:1 scale ? There is no booth where an operator would stand to run it.. I hear this TT is made better than the Walthers 90' kit one. But the Walthers has the operator's booth !! What to do, what to do ?

    The motors for these are very very noisy mate I got through two turntables and a few motors before I gave up shame I got a Heljan one now but I think the Peco turntable looks the better British outline one.

    I like this kit too I have one. When getting a motor try and get a really quiet one. Mine is well noisy.

    will you have siding on the turn table or is it a simple on then off ?

    Have you thought of using a tripod to hold the camera steady?
