The GT4 has always been held in high regard here in the UK. Fortunately we have always had access to them. With our high octane fuel 100 RON, it was always a tuner's dream with uprated turbo's, forged engines, large intercoolers and much, much more. Some are 500 BHP plus..and reliable.

    • @RaitisRides

@@RaitisRides It's the same with the R34 Skyline GTR here. Whilst not common just like the GT4, they have always been accessable in the UK, many running 700BHP plus and there are some absolute beauties too. We in the UK are astounded why the US have been so strict on allowing such vehicles in, especially when you guys run monster trucks/engines (if it is an emission thing). Great review by the way. Keep them coming.

@@Craigz1000 it was the market not really an emissions thing but it did have somewhat to do with emissions as more people started leaning towards economic friendly cars. But They had the st185 (my dad has owned one since 2008) and we had every line of supra ever made going back to celica supra. Back then your everyday US consumer, aside from enthusiasts, didn't care much for jdm sports cars. That wasn't until after fast and the furious which it was already too late. US consumers mostly stuck with luxury and more economic friendly vehicles. Hence why they made lexus and acura to appeal to that market

Back then the difference between the WRX and STi starting with the Ver 3 were so small that you could still have 280hp. Subaru gave the Ver 3 WRX a VF22 standard and during drags with minor bolt ons the Ver 3 STi couldnt keep up, hence the bug eye and on WRX was gutless

Some info for potential owners to ease the headache:
The superstruts are gonna fail in a few months if driven on bad road condition, the system was developed for circuit and japan road conditions,if the suspension were to fail on you, dont bother rebuilding the superstruts and look for aftermarket coilover produced for ST246 or ST215 caldina(another JDM wagon produced by toyota) instead.it's plug n play without modifications, some other undercarriage part are shared between the two platform as well.

Hey Raiti great video love to see JDM classics like these, also just a quick tip for the camera work (not criticism or anything) I would like to see the camera man get up a little more closer to the vehicles so we can see some of the small details that are you explaining in the video. It’s as if the cam man is scared to get too close and take you out the shot but I would of liked to see the details of the hood as well as the badges on the side of the car, I wouldn’t have even noticed if you didn’t say they were there. Maybe B roll would be a great alternative as well that you can throw in while your talking. Just a suggestion love ya Raiti!

I drive a 7th gen and I love it, one day when I've got enough money to buy this once I have an indoor garage I will get this, I love my 7th gen, it sounds good (no it's not a ricer fart can, spent quite some £££ extra for custom catback), has a nice set of alloys which I'm refurbing next month and just is overall a pleasure to drive, it's made me fall in love with Toyota, drove 2 Golfs before that and also had a 250,000 mile ex taxi 2010 Kia Magentis CRDI which ran like a clock with a chip to just over 200 bhp, was a pleasure to drive too believe it or not despite it's size but the Celica community alongside it is just amazing, I don't live in an area with that many celicas, I know a few guys within a 10 mile radius and I do see some from time to time ( saw about 4 in the past months, not all 7th gens) and even MR2 owners we always flash headlights with eachother if we see one even if we don't know eachother, 2 months ago a guy in a very tidy red MR2 parker next to me when I came back and left he just showed up too and gave a thumbs up, honestly if anyone is considering, Toyota is the way to go for it's cars and its friendly community, I work for shell as I'm in college atm so I see all sorts of cars, and everytime a Celica or MR2 pops up and they see mine parked, they come in to talk, Honda civics with their exhausts and preludes always act like pricks they'll rev up their engines when people fuel up and they're just rude, might just be the local ones but it's not the same
imgur.com/a/lCM2FEX This is a picture of mine, getting the headlight tinted yellow next month too I think and the alloys I'm not sure yet if I'm keeping them as is once refurbed or debating Gold, White or Black if anyone wants to give their opinion? :)
