So much fun Shelly! I love that vintage Betty Crocker. I read my vintage cookbooks too. I didn’t unhaul a single cookbook in my last batch of decluttering - they all survived the great purge of 2023!
My culinary library consists of 300+ books, many of which are encyclopedic and about specific ingredients such as salt (3 books on that), butter, dried chiles, olive oil, etc. Since my celiac diagnosis my cooking and baking life changed. I still have 100+ gluteny baking books which are sadly useless yet are gorgeous books. When I taught culinary classes I was into finicky and challenging stuff. Made nearly all our condiments, preserves, breads, pasta...My husband and I now live in Europe more than North America and are into peasant food using wonderful ingredients and foraging. Much simpler and conveys our relaxed lifestyle. Interesting how tastes/interests change! Good for you for culling. I really need to do that. 😊
300 cookbooks. What an incredible collection! I've tried my hand at breads, pastas, and condiments, but feel intimidated certain preserves. I tend to revisit my collection of cookbooks over and over again. Thank you for leaving such a lovely comment. I really enjoyed reading it. :)
@@Shellyish Preserves can be intimidating but also so rewarding! Love and appreciate your channel. You're genuinely friendly and kind and your book talk is always fascinating! 😊
I 💚 Cookbooks! I do use the internet, but I use my cookbooks more. What I enjoy is to find a recipe in my cookbook and then see if I can find videos on the techniques it talks about. I have recipes handwritten by my great grandma, grandma and mama & mother-in-law. I cherish them. What a great collection!
Impressive collection Shelly. I have only one cookbook and I will never part with it and that's The Multi-Cultural Cuisine of Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean Cookbook. It's filled with all my favourite hometown recipes 🤗🙌

Wow! The massive unhaul of 2023 and ALL the cookbooks made it! Woo hoo!
I have lots of cookbooks and do not use them as much as I should. Your hair looks great by the way.
Thank you! Thank you!

I adore handwritten recipes. My mom keeps handwritten notes in her collection which I love.
Happy Mother's day Shelly!
Thank you! :)

Awe!!! I love that! ❤️❤️
Keeping "Naked Lunch" with your cookbooks is brilliant. Love it!
