The moment you can reconize the anime character just by their eyes alone. Lol I love these videos. I just started drawing and my drawings have improved immensely. Though I still cant draw without "copying". Lol

Ikr, I tried to make something original, but it just didn't meet my expectations at all compared to the drawings that I just "copied" like you said. ;-;
Well "copying" is fine, you're just looking off of something to help you draw, most artists do that, it's how you can improve your art. Making something from the top of you're head would probably be pretty hard..

i like drawing eyes and most anything else, just hate drawing breast and lips. as a guy of my age(18) i should probably be more perverted, instead i am over self conscious of seeming perverted to anyone and everyone lol

About six years ago i watched this video. i was thirteen and had been drawing manga figures since i was little up until that point, but seeing this, and mark crilleys videos gave me a more serious of push with my drawings. I havent been watching your tutorials, but this video means something to me, symbollicaly, and i get nostalgic watching it. I'm in a slump at the moment, and watching this video right now is really helping me. My profile picture is a self portrait i drew a year ago, and i think without this video, much would have been different, and i would'nt have made such progress! Thank you, Mr. Crilley!

Thanks to watching your videos and drawing the things you do in the videos, while I was in high school last year I got many people to start drawing manga. My art teacher believed in my dreams of making my own manga series that he brought me both your how to draw manga books. Which are amazing. I look at it every time I have to draw. I’ve seen this ten years ago on a Chinese video website and I downloaded it because I like it so much. Now I finally find the original video! So happy!
Anybody else having a problem not clicking the next video... and then the next... and then the next... These posts are awewsome for anybody wanting to figure out their own style and though I only draw for fun... and my own amusement, I suddenly find myself wanting to go get some good pencils... PRISMA of course... pens... heck, maybe even some water colors... and a few choice books (Miki Falls, Mastering Manga 1 & 2, Brody's Ghost)... I love being inspired. Thanks Mark.

With my own manga i'm drawing I mostly use number 6 eyes. I find you can vary them the most but no one can escape shocked eyes.

i think L is freaking awesome! so awesome that i was able to re-create his filter- voice perfectly, on top of that i was practicing on "L's" normal voice on order to make everything appear authentic.

The pencil he uses is black prismacolor and u can choose any ink pen. Its not about the tools its about your skills.

what style would you say number 42 is? that seems to be natural for me and comes pretty easily.
It seems like every shape looks viable for beeing an eye when you draw it :p

Making out the style in your mind is quite easy, but actually drawing needs serious skills, and he has them. If you have them, then it would be a piece of cake :D
