Who’s watching in 2019?
This was the video that got me into drawing manga back in 2012. Before that I had 0 drawing skills, but Mark’s videoes kept me motivated the whole time. I cannot thank him enough for all his great tutorials, I’ve watched them over and over again to improve my technique. By far the best drawing instructor on UA-cam in my opinion

I love how your tutorials make my drawings come out great, but never exactly the same as yours. Not quite as good, but as good as I strive for and always a little different!
Wow, I never thought that my drawing would turn out to be like the video, you are an amazing artist and I really want to draw Mangas at well as you. You really inspired me to draw Mangas and other anime stuff, and now I am really improving on my drawings. Thank you so much for helping draw better than I already do. Keep it up!
Same here, my first drawing was totally not like the example (from a drawing book, no how to)
It looked like crap. Someone mentioned to look at these videos. And I have to say, my drawing of this manga really looks like it!

But I also would like to be able to draw a family picture of my kids and my husband (who died in 2002 while I was pregnant of our daughter). But I will get there.
And I will keep doing these and try the other videos as well

I just don't understand. Every line you make is so perfect and necessary. I'm stuck in a rut at the moment.. feeling sad about my drawings. I cannot create original drawings they always look somehow strange. All my best drawings are thanks to you. Thank you so much, Mark your skill is incredible and awesome. If you want to improve you need to practice. I started to draw in anime style a year ago and I improved (I'm not saying that I draw the way Mark does, but I got better at drawing). I'm kind of happy with my style but I still need to practice a lot so remember that practice is the key. I know that I'm not the one who should give advice but it kind of worked for me, so I hope I helped you (even if just a little). Sorry for my mistakes in writing, I'm not too much of good writer because I'm not a native English speaker.

A week and a half ago I started an art class, without any previous practice or skill to speak of. All I could accomplish were stick figures and pine tress, and even then the pine trees always looked as though they had been blown over too much on one side, haha!
Possibly my teacher has taught me a bit more about shading, but you have taught me more with this 16 minute video and about an hour and half of my time, than she has in a week and a half.
To the point, I greatly appreciate your work. Even though this is the first video I have watched and attempted, I will be trying another one or two tonight. Never before did I believe I could draw like this. Thank you so much!!!

He doesn't draw using his let hand he either flips the page around or moves so he can do it he's explained that before

You probably get a lot of comments like this, but I want to thank you. Without you, I wouldn't be drawing at all. I comment on this video because this is the very first video of yours I watched. I remember, I was so proud of myself for producing something that looked decent. It inspired me to draw more often. It's been a couple years, probably three, since I first watched it, and this video just makes me happy. Drawing has changed my life. I really owe this positive change to you. Again, I just want to thank you. You've been one of my biggest inspirations to draw and even to write. I doubt you'll see this, but I had to thank you.
I forgot to say, you explained everything on a level that I could understand it at eleven, something none of my art teachers ever did. Where they told me to draw more realistically, you inspired me to be unique and create my own drawing style. :)

today i was drawing and realized how adamant i was about adding ‘blushies’ to every single character, no matter what, even a slight indication. like it’s such a crucial part of my artwork and it has been for years. crazy how your old videos even influence my art style now hehe
Hey Mike there's a million to one chance you'll see this but I need some help with coming up with ideas for comics getting the motivation to do said comic also I can't really stick to a style of drawing my primary style is cartoony but I like Manga and my character is always changing if you can help I'd really appreciate it ^-^

I love Love LOVE your videos!!! I learn so much! It is so much easier than just learning from the books but the books are still great references. Thank you so much for doing all of your videos.
I followed along with this and I can't believe how great it turned out :) I didn't have enough room on the paper for the ponytail, so I drew Japanese hair sticks in where her hair is tied in the back. I also added her arms and drew the rest of her shirt just below her elbows. I drew an anchor tattoo on her upper left arm, and on her neck I drew Moka Akashiya's rosary necklace, which was EXTREMELY challenging. But I made it through, and the whole picture looks fantastic. I still need to color it though. Thank you Mark Crilley for your video lessons. You are a true inspiration to all of us.

Does anybody know if Mark did a video on drawing turned away faces? I always have problems with getting a right shape for the 'compressed' eye, as well as getting the space between eyes right. I'd love to see a video about this.
