Although I don't have the required amount of money yet, I do regularly check out Amazon for gear as that gives me motivation to get there one day. I've even had a wishlist created that I just tap in to see time and again. I try to update that list as much as possible. While the motivation is there it also becomes confusing as to what should I keep on my list so that I buy it once I have enough capital. I'm constantly researching gear for my list so that I don't have to when I finally buy. I was looking for mics the other day and then today I was recommended this video. I watched the video and I actually found a great resource of value, in that I got more knowledge about gear and also was motivated from the way you told that intro. Just wanted to thank you. And yes, I've subscribed your channel too. Good work mate.

You really don't need 32GB RAM. 16GB is fine I can run 2 Video games, several YT vids and my Studio one 5 DAW. I do have all my Plugs and DAW on a 500GB SSD. I use the Focusrite 2i2 Scarlett audio interface. upgrading it I'd go thunderbolt or just get a mixingboard like the PreSonus StudioLive 32SX 32-channel Digital Mixer

      Agreed!
Acoustic treatment = Yamaha HS5. Very emphasized in the mid-range and these do better in a more pro setting with acoustic treatment.
No acoustic treatment = KRK Rokit 5 G4. More balanced across the entire sound spectrum which will sound more pleasant over long hours of listening in a regular (untreated) setting. Downside is these are not as flat and clear as the HS5.

I've managed to aquire all the equipment id need to actually make music, however I live in a small house with a super small room and I still haven't found a way to fit everything into it. My computer desk takes up a whole wall leaving no room for monitors, my room barley fits one chair making it difficult to collaborate. Okay I'm catching myself complaining, I have made it work for now and alot of times I just have friends sit on the bed when I'm working on a song with them.

Hi Edward! In your “perfect” home setup for 2021, you indicated that you’ve gone with the KRK Rokit 5 G4. In the background over your desk, however, you actually have a set-up consisting of four Yamaha HS models. This may come across as contradictory to your viewers. Do you favor a particular brand for the acoustic qualities of your own studio or for certain mixings/productions?

I think... to get the best out of the Yamaha HS5s you need a very well acoustically treated room and the Yamahas are also best for only certain styles and genres. I think the KRKs are great for a bedroom setup because they don’t rely as much on good treatment and they are best for popular genres like EDM, Hip Hop and Trap music... their low end also makes more sense for the size 👌🏼

I ordered a couple of Presonus 5E XT. I kept them for less than 10 days and returned back to Amazon. Loose cone from factory. Unfortunately, lots of Q/C issues with that brand. I ordered the KRK Rokits 5 G4 and couldn’t be happier.

I'd love to get the home studio giveaway. I am willing to get more serious with music production (in terms of investment, motivation has always been there haha), but unfortunately don't have a lot of money right now. For now all I have is an average laptop and average headphones. So a home studio would definitely be a huge boost! Love from Belgium :)

Can anyone tell me if either the KRK's or the Yamaha have that hissing noise when music isn't being played through them. I was excited about some JBL monitors but I read that they have that hissing noise. Thank you for any input. Blessings!

Please do not hold your monitors horizontally . Hs series are meant to stand vertically only ! You do not enlarge the stereo imaging you are actually alter it! Also this info is stated in the manual.
