I've read that in the early 2000's there were some Swedish or Norwegian folks that were teaching US singers how to pronounce english words "the fancy way". This is where all of this weird things emerged from. They are also known for the song "Sitting Down Here" by Lene Marlin, where even professional vocal trainers had troubles distinguish all the words she's singing (but it's a killer song tho).
I remember watching this when it first came out not knowing who FOB was except for Centuries and Uma Thurman and knowing My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark but not knowing who it was by. Here I am 2 years later, emo as fuck and seeing them live in august and owning quite a bit of merch

I'm glad I'm not the only one who had no clue what most of the lyrics were. The weird thing is, unlike bands like Nirvana, Creed, or Pearl Jam, FOB wasn't mumbling. There seemed to be plenty of enunciation, but not of real words.

I've read that in the early 2000's there were some Swedish or Norwegian folks that were teaching US singers how to pronounce english words "the fancy way". This is where all of this weird things emerged from. They are also known for the song "Sitting Down Here" by Lene Marlin, where even professional vocal trainers had troubles distinguish all the words she's singing (but it's a killer song tho).
