    As an owner for 9 months of an EV6, I don't recognize the 'jerkiness' of certain functions. But I agree with you on the beeps - I've gotten used to them, but most of them are not needed at all. Sometimes I miss the phenomenal Travel Assist of my former car, an ID.4. However, in almost all other regards I find the EV6 superior. But that's just my personal opinion🙂

      Funny enough it seems that the Koreans are the only ones to follow the European Communities rules as they take them seriously. As an EV6 AWD owner since May 2022 however I do not see where some people have a problem with the safety signals required exactly by those protecting mainly their weak EV industry with their mediocre products. After 54 years of mainly German Premium with the according rip off in service costs the Kia was a revelation. 15‘000 km with 17,2 kWh average on all profiles for a car with 333 PS and 608 Nm is just what except Tesla others do not deliver. By the way some sounds you can stop in the menue others are mandatory at least for serious companies not cheating on customers like those with the Dieselgate 🤮💩😵‍💫🤔🇨🇭

    I have the exact car and I don’t feel any jerkiness as you describe. As for the I pedal I fined it useful in traffic but terrible when trying to park. So unless I’m driving in and around town I leave it in level 3. Again the cruise control is smooth. As for the beeps I can get out the drivers seat with the car still on with no beep unless you take the keys with you. Beeps for the seat belt yes if you drive of without putting it on. Over all yes some beeps can be annoying but on the hole others are a good thing to remind you to put on a seatbelt for example. For me I love the car same colour and spec as the one you have there having had the Kia e Niro for three years before.

    Not sure why this guy is criticizing the EV6 with so many untruths. I own a 2023 EV6 GT Line. There is no jerkiness when driving the vehicle or while using cruise or any of the other things that were mentioned in the video. As for the beeps, most beeps a warning signals - very good feature. I dont recall the lift doir beeping when i approach it. Im really pleased with my experience owning an EV6.

    I have never had any of the jerkiness you are talking about in my EV6, the beep let’s you know your selection has been confirmed, the back up beeper is because the car is so quiet they want to let pedestrians know you are getting ready to backup. The hatch beeps during opening so you can get out of the way and know it’s opening or closing, all safety features.

    I have had the EV6 AWD GT-Line for about 6 weeks now, and it’s a significant step up from the Chevy Bolts I was driving for the past 6 years. I particularly love the adaptive cruise control which wasn’t available on the Bolt. The main feature I miss from the Bolt is the auto locking doors when you get out and walk away. I find the beep when I turn on I-pedal helpful as I don’t have to look down at the instrument cluster to know when I’ve turned it on. I do think the beeping while backing up is too loud and annoying. Overall I’m loving the car despite a few annoyances.

    Thanks for posting this. As a prospective first-time-BEV buyer, perspectives like this are very helpful, even if I conclude that I could probably live with the annoyances you describe (excessive "beeping", which will probably be addressed as a software update).
    Currently, my biggest concern is actual highway range, as many blogs indicate that the claimed range is not experienced in steady highway driving.

    I did consider one of these but went with the Volvo XC40 Twin Everything you don't like about the EV6 is not an issue on the Volvo .. it is smooth as silk and minimum beeps .. and those that do beep are done in an understated Scandinavian way ... a very calm environment

    I have been driving our Kia EV6 AWD long range for about 18 months and experience no 'jerkiness' at all as this YT-er describes. It is a wonderful car to drive. But, there is a setting in the car that changes the way the CC responds, so you can react smoothly to acceleration or braking, or you can set this setting to 'sporty' and then you get much more intense reactions. Maybe check that setting, because your experience does not match how the EV6 drives.

    I also have an AWD EV6, I get the bleep thing, but no big deal. However I do recognise the "jerkiness". This is by far the smoothest car I have ever driven. Still great video, thank you for sharing your views

  • @beatreuteler
    @beatreuteler Рік тому +2

    Looking @ other comments it seems to me the individual car you test drove had an issue that should be resolved as others who drive EV6 do not seem to have any jerkiness. Another issue I see is if you make a video on such a car shoudn't you always check real consumption and share it? Or am I the only one who cares?

    I'd love to see car makers test their lovely touch screens on someone with a frozen shoulder, or someone in their 60s or 70s....I suspect at that point the touchscreen will be a stationary operation only as lifting the arm up that far at full reach is not great. Same applies to all modern cars though not just the EV6.

    • @DBGE001
      @DBGE001 6 місяців тому

      Indeed, but the EV6 has quite a lot of buttons low in the dashboard (Climate controls + media/radio controls) and on the steering wheel (ACC, telephone, power mode, etc...).

      @@Abevlife Hyundai/Kia beeps are too loud and some of it without any logic. Especially if car is running and you close any door - 10sec loud tone. I have VESS button off/on on niro and love it. I leave it on for safety - when kids go to school in the morning, or off when I leave the garden/house at night (and would not to wake up all dogs and neighbors), or when I sleep somewhere on trips. Niro20 has very loud beeping for reverse drive.

    If I would drive a ID3 for two weeks, I would find more NOT TO BUY points.
    Driving my EV6 AWD over 35.000km and I like from the first day on. The Beeping is there, but I recognise it in a way not desturbing me, but to give me a feedback whats going on. The jerkyness is also there, but very little. I can life with it. No car is perfekt. How many BEVs are out there with this charging speed, a powerful 230V AC power supply in the car and a V2device adapter? Very, very few. A BEV without this feature is for me not a real BEV and I wouldnt buy it than.

    After owning the EV6 for 18 months I got rid of it. While it was a good car from driving and comfort perspective + well built and fantastic seats. There are quite a few reasons why I did get rid of it anyway:
    1: It simply has a dated infotainment that barely got any better with updates. Some updates even broke things, such as active sound design nonsense being on by default. It also has a bad interface with too many menu layers and no shortcuts to program either, and finally a lot of lag, especially the navigation. Even Android Auto was pretty laggy.
    2: Meridian Sound System, while balanced well enough, was very lacking in mid tones. It destroys certain songs quite badly.
    3: The pre heating update was a disappointment. It has a weaker than avg battery heater and a 20% SoC limit, causing it to still cold gate most times.
    4: At least in my case: Auto steer was all wobbly. Always going left and right even in straight lines where other systems would just go smoothly forward. Oh and camera fogged up a lot causing it to not work in rain or cold.
    5: Route planner came too late (just after I got rid of it), and even then it is not that great from what I have seen.
    6: Poor aero, noticed especially when I was driving through France with higher speeds..... causing sub 300 km stages between charges. Not ideal if you ask me.
    Small annoyances:
    1: The fiddly climate controls with tiny buttons. I even prefer the sliders in ID3/4/5/Golf
    2: (RWD only) The delay from a standstill was pretty nasty at times

    I drive the EV6 for more then a year and I totaly don't recognize the jerkiness during driving you describe, on the contrary it behaves very smooth. And also the most beeps you describe I don't hear or have them switched off. I think my car has now less beeps then i.e. a Tesla (I must admit that I removed the VESS fuse, so it's really quit). But what I don't understand that this is a reason for you preferring a VW ID car, those are in my opinion total crap EV's, I can only laugh at them. And yes, I was a VW addict before I switched to KIA EV's. VW really missed something on their to EV. Bad charging, bad ergonomics, tiny screen, no frunc, ugly looks, etc. If it should be something European then I would prefer an Enyaq instead.
