Battletoads yes lol that sucked but streets of rage/hopefully upcoming double dragon, no. Though yes a lot of half-assed stuff needing patches or being $70, and digital only (or Square Enix making physical hard to get while not updating mobile/steam pixel remasters for boost/font/encounter toggle or ff6 original music) will make people go back to mods. I just hope etrian odyssey ($40 a digital game is ridiculous when play-asia has english trilogy for $70, but megaman battle network did that and worsened font) and baten kaitos function better than tales of symphonia.
@Avrelivs_Gold which one made you swear off them like old bruce wayne, never again? Tactics ogre reborn had broken AI that would counterattack allies in front if you hit the back one or bosses and guest allies charge to their doom. I am glad youtube has a cutscene videos as the story is much better than the gameplay. But yeah best age of remakes/remasters (and sports games) is ps3 (at retro $100 with ps2 backwards compatible $200 of course) with Prince of Persia trilogy (it includes sands of time while ubisoft blew the sands remake budget to cancel) and psp with all those final fantasy remakes (4 had interlude not seen again, as well as after years).
@@MrVariant well the only few good remakes were in that era you mentioned, 15-20 years ago. They used new tech to actually make things better, to sell product through its reputation, not to make quick buck. Today they make dramatic irrelevant hype trailers, get preorders, and hope that after backlash most people won't ask for a refund.

Not a bad hack but there is many things that needs fixing. For example, the sprites. Many of them have color problems, like they are too bright or has weird shading going on. Or the positioning of the sprites during the walking animation, that looks weird. Also, some of the toads sprites were taken from SNES game called Battlemaniacs, that has awful design, if you as me. So why not take sprites from the arcade game instead? Anyway, not a bad hack but it needs a lot of polishing and fixing to be done.
