I’m going to take a guess that your retired. And what a awesome hobby to do in retirement. I am a RC junky but my time mainly allows me for RTR RC’s. I hope I will be able to do this when I retire. And your craftsmanship is top notch, a great deal of detail goes in every project. Loved it 👍🏻
I LOVED this build when I originally saw it. I LOVE it even more now that I've seen the custom built side dump trailer that JMI built to match this truck. I love the project even more now that I've found out the truck & trailer were built for a customer in the Pacific Northwest! I'm optimistic that one day I might be able to get video of the completed builds married together & working!

Why you did a great job and it looks just like the real thing because of real thing was that Louisville truck show this past weekend and it was a beautiful truck and it was a Kenworth the only thing different between the truck the real truck that was at Louisville did the one that you built his tanks for Chrome and he didn't have the blue lights in the bumper he had the orange lights but your truck that you just built looks just like the real thing so you did a great job man this is Ken I'm in Florida

I'm still a bit stalled on my Grand Hauler, but parts are trickling in from China - including a Set of Aluminum Wheels! They're more late 70's appropriate, and like yours, really make the Truck POP.

I was not sure about the color either but it was duplicating a real truck. After I sprayed it I was convinced. Really a great color.

You could check on Home Depot or Lowe's for the nylon spacer instead of the washers.

Excellent work and the blue lights are a nice touch! (a side note-OK disallows any blue lighting showing to the front. Blue lights are reserved for emergency vehicles) Still the video tuitional you produce are first class thanks for your tips and tricks!

I have my bumper lights and air cleaner lights connected and soldered to an extra servo tab extension I had. Now, lol where do I connect that? To the Reciever aux channel or somewhere to the MFC-01?
You need an electronic switch if you want to operate them remotely.
I wonder how you did mount the sun visor, since there isn't really a hole or something to clip it in?
I drill holes in the visor and use screws to put it on the cab.
Maybe the plastic models arent so bad to deal with. Atleast theyre customizable.
Just wondering if your trucks are for sale. Or would you be interested in putting one more of these together the is the best looking truck that I have ever seen. I want to get a semi like that cuz that is his favorite color we had a fire a few months ago and lost everything he had for cars and trucks. His wish is to have a truck just like that one. But I just dont have the time to make one. Trying to clean up the house and working all the time.

Hi Bob, another great video series. Turned out beautiful! On the fuel tanks I know you used the chrome adhesive strip on the bands did you use the same on the fuel cap?
The fuel cap is a separate part and comes chromed so I just left it chrome.
How much would you charge for one like this? Seriously inquiring.

First off sir thank you so much for makeing such great Educational videos. I have a question me and my son are starting off building smitruck R/C trucks and i was wondering when you paint the body of the truck do you wet sand and shoot clear coat.
I do use Tamiya clear. I sometimes sand first depending on how good I shoot the paint :-)

What do you use to cover hole over sleeper/
The Grand Hauler has a little chrome plug that fills it.
How come the hobby concepts online company server is down and unable to be found.
There as an outage at Network Solutions that affected us. Back now!

Hello you have a nice truck. I bought one last year. It didn't come with all the pieces. I went to a hobby store and he ordered some of the pieces. It's been over a year and he's never got them. I even bought another kit, expecting to find the missing parts I needed and that kit had missing parts. I even bought the grand Hauler. The sound kit didn't come with all the stickers for the wires. I don't know where to get them. I wish I'd never bought it in the first place.
I go through hundreds (and I really do mean hundreds) of Tamiya semi kits every year. I have never had a kit with a missing part, although it could probably happen, maybe. If you think you have a kit with a missing part contact Tamiya at tamiyausa.com
