Scott, Regarding the fog light. The complete lights are indeed very expensice, but you can replace the glass for about GBP 150. If you can't find them, i do have these in stock (Brand new, OEM Carello glass)
Awesome... I was about to suggest or ask if it couldve been fixed like a windscreen can be... great news about the glass...
I have done the same thing on my Testarossa, and my Mondial t coupe. A pain in the as to get them of, but worth the extra work to save a lot of money.
Does it come with the wasp fitted, or is that extra?
@@Lemma01the Wasp of Doom are only available direct from Maranello, on back order, yours for £32,999.99, plus vat
sounds like a sensible deal @@Al_is_XXX
Those struts should be installed with the rod down so the oil will lubricate the seals and the oil will provide dampening at the end range of its stroke. Loving the 348 though.
Excellent work on saving this one, Scott. The 348 is in my humble opinion the best looking mid-engine Ferrari. And almost affordable.
Just a word of advice doing the trim - when punching holes for screws in the leather, use a hot soldering iron to make the hole It will make a neat hole and cauterize and seal the fabric at the same time!
Yah! A new Ratarossa video to brighten my day! What a magnificent job, Scott! It looks like a totally different car to the one you bought. Many congratulations on the wonderful transformation your hard work has brought, and commiserations on the accident with the light. I really hope you can either repair it or pick up a replacement really cheaply.
That wasp better be greatfull. The car looks fantastic.
Your attention to detail is what keeps us all returning dude no shortcuts just cars done properly
Except for the attention when carrying an expensive headlight that now is broken and he doesn't pretend to replace.
And except for the attention to detail when he puts the bonnet struts upside down @@MuitoDaora
Amazing. I absolutely loved this car as a kid at the time. I was particularly obsessed with the wheel design for some reason. This car for me was up there alongside the Testarossa, the F40, the 288 and the Countach!
Only Scott gives a Ferrari with no engine a concours treatment 😊
Nice flip my friend to get some finance for the bigger goals. It was a good move as you went through the car quickly.
What a transformation! Looks amazing. Love the retrimmed interior and the exterior.
Gas struts should usually be fitted with the body at the top, rod at the bottom, this allows internal oil to lubricate the seal inside
11:45 love the subtle F40 parts chilling behind you
OMG it looks EPIC! I need 348 in my life!
Great work as usual mate! Ever tried ceramic coating on faded plastic. It's incredible! And it last a loong time. Karma is 100% happy wasp. Lighter wallet. Maybe you find the glas somewhere. Check the numbers. Maybe it was used to a lorry or something in the 90' 😅
Looks awesome! I can’t wait to see that F40 project starting!
Great job, Scott, that car really transformed, looks amazing.
Only seeing your video now , but regarding cleaning the vinyl roof , ( and other areas ) why not try a steam cleaner … no chemicals and gets into areas that prove very difficult by hand .
Scott. Try a wireless mic, like the RODE unit. It will reduce the echo in the videos and sound as good as the 348 looks 😊
Just a little tip to help you with restoration when it comes to carpet. If the carpet is dirty, but in excellent condition, you can blast it with dry ice in it will come out looking like brand new.
LOVE seeing great older cars revived and given a second life!
Great to see you back Scott, that seems like a long three weeks. The car is looking beautiful, I’d have saved the wasp too. Can’t wait to see the hidden project, trying to guess what it could be?? 😂❤
Took me ages to watch it too thanks to the kids etc. 348 was the first Ferrari i ever drove and still they hold a place for me. Scott, just get some proper flooring in there. Pretty sure costco do the clip together tiles cheaper than a dropped light unit, plus warmer and more comfortable too. Keep up the good work!
The result of holding the camera with one hand & trying to work with the other.
Realy fun and rewarding to see the process of cleaning and prepping the car. Well done Scott.
Lots of good work there. FWIW, what I've found to work on plastics such as the dirty ash tray and cup holders is to run them through the dish washer. I put them on the upper rack so they're not too close to the heating elements and don't risk melting. Parts usually come out looking new.
Haha I feel you on the wasp thing, it's bad juju to not let them out. But I hope it doesn't end up costing so much to fix!
Great meeting you today Scott. Keep up the amazing work and looking forward to new projects, whatever they may be!!😊Tony.
Hi Scott. Great job on the Car. Its looking so Good. There's still abit left to do, well done bro 😅 🇨🇮
Wow! Everything is looking great. Can't wait to see what's going on with the engine and trans. Horrible luck with the wasp. I'm sure you'll be able to sort it out for much less. GL!
the 348 is looking fine so far, fir the cracked light you could try the glass glue designed to repair windscreen cracks
Hi Scott. I have a workshop in Stourbridge in the West Midlands. This town has been the centre of Glass making in the UK for over 300 years. I know a man that can repair glass. To the point it won't be visible at all.
Love watching your Videos. How you restore these beautiful machines is fantastic. Keep up the great content.
Glad you like them!
Excellent video Scott....the 348 is looking awesome 👌
Keep the good work going 💪
Scott - superb job as always and another one for my reference library on how to improve my own 348. Regarding the broken front fog light PLEASE include how you fix this in your next video as I have the exact same issue and I’d love to see this job conquered by the master. You can source replacement glass relatively cheaply, but removing the broken lens from a sealed unit then replacing it is a challenge.
Great job Scott. F40 aside, this to me is the best looking Ferrari. Everything I grew up loving about Ferrari's. Pure 80's!
This is one of the best videos I've watched of yours! Great job. Great pace, variety of projects, very satisfying to see it all come together in one video. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
A wonderful work, as usual. Greetings from Italy!
Always a treat! Cheers from Texas!
Cleaners... when dealing with vinyl, I have learned that Simple Green and/or brake cleaner are very effective.
The dye job rocked!!!+
Nice job, I'm following this build (as a 348 owner) and I'm very keen to see what you do about the engine and gearbox.....I'm always impressed at your ability to transform interiors and tidying up trim and so forth....
What a transformation 10/10 Scott as always 👍👍
If the glass in the fog light is sitting straight find yourself a good quality independent windscreen repairer to run and cure the cracks and pit fill the missing bits. Done a few in the past myself and they turned out pretty well. Done a few headlights in the past before every car had glass replaced with plastic. It is difficult because the glass isn't laminated and the resin waste is high but the principal is the same.
I'm way too busy to undertake the job myself and I'm 200+ miles away but you must have someone nearby with decent glass repair experience.
Brother you have done a fantastic job on this Ferrari
You learned a valuable lesson mate. Blankets and foam sheets are your friend, always plan on worse case scenarios. Learned this the hard way myself.
Thank you for saving me, my wasp friends and i are going to have a whip around and we will try very hard to help you with the cost of the light. It really means the world to me that you chose to save me. Sincerely; THE WASP
Absolutely amazing results Scott and just rejuvenating old plastics and rubbers and putting some good elbow grease in works wonders, this 348 turned out to be a little beauty after your TLC, really astonishing results up to now.... might as well got rid of the wasp.... Great job Scott
Amazing job. Cleaning is one of the best tuning
That's so cute to have your little girl helping you in your project 😂
I remember when Lexi was a toddler...time flies..and now she's helping out like Owen was before going on his gap year!
Good job once again Scott. Sorry for that broken fog light. Wich you the best for getting another one for cheap. Than's for that very entertaining video.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Brilliant work as always ... How will you part with this one 😥
Videos getting better and better really enjoy watching!
Great work Scott - always had a soft spot for 348s. Nearly bought one a few years back (wish I had as the prices shot up!!) Looking forward to the rest of this series
Putting old rubber door seals in the wash with woolite works wonders
Hi sorry about the lamp ,I had an idea do you think a windscreen /mobile phone repair kit may work .A bit of negative pressure may drag the resin glue into the cracks , The car is looking sharp can't wait for the final result !
it looks amazing mate
Would love to have one of these in my collection one day. Great job Scott. Thank god you’re still alive………was gonna send out a search party for you!
Those door cards really do look stunning, along with the rest of the car...
Outstanding restoration
Yay new episode - transformation! Looks mega!
Stunning transformation. Would love to have your skills and knowledge. 😆👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
What a transformation, well done!
Nice work Scott. I hate wasps, but you did a good thing. Sounds like you might have a good option in the comments below to replace just the glass. Keep up the good work.
The top on my 328 is pretty dull and has a few spots that look like old soap or cleaner. Think I’ll follow you and use dye. Great to see the transformation of the 348. Good luck with the light. 328 fog light assemblies are a fortune too
I love it Scott. Still wanting the folks in the comments section to like share and subscribe so we can get you the follower’s you deserve amigo. Happy 2024 dude.
Fantastic work Scott
What a transformation, I feel like this car (and your work) deserves a professional detailing
That front trunk is looking epic.
Hey Scott...The Wasp...Exactly the sort of thing I do...So glad you are like it too...Utterly made my day. John Lennon said he wasn't the only one...;D
For the roof, use the blue sponge, the green is very abrasive 2:34 2:36
What a difference! Great work Scott
Ohh, those F40 parts….. I am so looking forward to see them put together! 😊
Great video Scott, but please get yourself some wing protectors not good for the paint with the hose rubbing on the wings 👍🏼
Good call!
I dropped and broke the glass one-year-only reverse light on a FJ40 restoration project years ago. A glass blower I knew repaired it with a UV glue that, after it sat in the sun for about a week, completely disappeared. Couldn't tell it had ever been broken. Maybe investigate that?
lol nice to hear the word satin black used and man that top looks amazing!
I had 348TS back when they were current model (yes I’m an old fart). Your restoration has brought a happy smile to my face; thanks Scott 👍
Thanks
Loving your work Scott, keep it up! I have to be honest I was never really a fan of the 348 but you're doing such a great job I'm starting to love them now! Top job matey👌👌
p.s where is the Testarossa, it seems to have disappeared? 👀
So satisfying to watch, great video
What a transformation on a knackered 348. A real beauty now
Its turning out to be a stunning example of Ferrari classic design, looking forward to the end restoration wrap video
For your black trims, try Gtechniq Permanent Trim Restorer 😎 Its incredible!
Hello again from Canada…your telling me these builds take awhile to do!! Well takes a lot of working to create funds will I ever see my family again! Well our project goes to paint soon what was your final cost for the paint process? Thanks for another great video….we I way behind getting a new video out but soon very soon
There are lots of technicians out there that will fix your light and will look like new.
Awesome job as always Scott! What a transformation ❤
Brilliant. Incredible where it’s come from.
you're a good man. thanks for saving the wasp, you will have good fortune
Hey not sure if this is a repeat message but just wanted to say thanks for the cool Ferrari content. I know I been hard on you about the Tesla stuff but just wanted to say thanks, you are my favorite of all the car UA-cam content, just really adore you, you deserve more subs but I know you have less bc you are more real. I love your videos, and you aren’t for the masses just for the mini masses, I hope you make enough cash, you should focus more on flipping cars. But yeah, your videos are a treat, more special than adam lz, Tavarish, jimmy oakes, or any of them. So even if I hate the Tesla content just know I love your videos and the Ferrari restorations and the daily use of Ferraris you fix. Most content creators seem ti alienate the viewer but you haven’t. Thanks for the content, you still have an old school car content vibe
I respect your ability to always get the job done
And I also applaud your ability to do these restorations at your house or other small spaces, also it’s obvious you keep good relationships w your shops as far as wheels, tires, paint, glass, I know you take care of them well to keep them on point and working well for you. They appreciate your business
It is not just that easy to drop off and say paint it, or etc, you have to be an asset to have them let you film them and give you service immediately, I know you don’t just the line at the paint booth but you been working w them for years and not worn them out, so you been paying and respecting their time. They do benefit some from the exposure but you show your loyalty and they show you good work. What I’m trying to illustrate is that not everyone can create a good relationship like this
used that vht to restore a leather vintage midcentury chair. it does a good job and looks good and holds up. not sure how it will do with uv exposure, but the tops got to look better than it did.
I’m sorry you cracked your light but I deeply appreciate your empathy for a living creature - even a less sympathetic type one like a wasp. How we treat the smallest and least of the creatures we share this planet with is a reflection of who you are, and that’s a good person in my opinion.
Great stuff!!
Makes me want to go out and buy an old Ferrari!! Cheers!
Thanks so much Steve, Very much appreciated
Great video well done , car has come up really nice well done
This 348 is looking incredible. I'd flip it and add the cash to your warchest.
Lenses are available on ebay for those lights Scott. What's going on with the mechanical parts mate?
Another awesome job fella, thanks for sharing 👍
From my observations.... using the standard collector car scale of 1+ to 6-, meaning, Pebble Beach to only usable part is the VIN... the 348 looked like a solid 4+. Now? 2-. Impressive.
Windscreen repair kit should work on the driving lamps
Great work to bring this car back.
Cant wait to see the bbi at this stage. Its going yo be epic
I believe I saw some aftermarket (non OEM) lenses for those headlights on ebay once. Not sure if that’s still the case.
Takes 2 minutes to mask and sheet up the inside to keep the dust down. First step before sanding in my bodyshop. Car is looking fantastic 👌
