    When I first saw this game I thought pinball is perfect for VR. I used to have a real pinball machine in my home. It was amazing but it took up so much space and it cost a small fortune to purchase and get delivered.

    7 months ago I wasn't sure about the value of this game. Today I picked it up in the current sale and WOW. It's a hidden PSVR gem. Shame I've got to go to work now or I would be on it all day. Very addictive and the immersion is total. The default camera was a little too close but leaning forward and pressing the square button adjusted the distance of the table for a better view. I recommend this while it is discounted.

    It kind of sounds silly but this is my favorite PSVR game, I have a lot of them too, Rush of Blood in incredible, Sports Bar is great when there's someone to play pool with but this game has really surprised me, I didn't really like pinball before, didn't dislike it either but I love it now, never realized how deep of a game it was, I wasnt originally gonna get the DLC but now I have to!

    I've been a huge fan of this series and bought just about every table for the 360 and Xbox One. I was thinking how different could it be in VR and why should I buy it... I took the plunge and was blown away

    I have all the tables on ps4, steam, android, Osi and even amazon and I have to say there are all great in any format but playing the fx2 VR tables is just another step up and the playability is just never ending just like playing a real table. I hope they will recreate more of the tables in VR. star wars would be so awesome as well as the marvel tables.

    god i love pinball. i don't get when you say you are terrible at pinball yet say you will explore the tables for hours lol! The machine tells you what to do next step is to just work on your ball control and shots!

      It's a time thing Fatal. If I could just focus on one table for an hour or two I'd probably be way better at it. But I always jump from table to table then eventually back into whatever RPG or open-world game I'm currently into. Pinball has always been a diversion for me, not a focus. But I still love it. :D

    I always wanted to have a real pinball table since I played on windows 98 and now thanks to PSVR is possible and much better than a real table, I guess.

    Wow you nailed it. For the past couple of years, my joy of gaming has been fading for that exact same reason. I just feel like I'm playing the same stuff over and over again in new packaging. And VR has rejuvenated the franchise for me.

    • @WithoutParole
      @WithoutParole  7 років тому +1

      I feel like VR has rejuvenated my love of all genres. The Last Guardian shows up today and I'm curious to see if I'll even want to play it (since it's not a VR game). FFXV kept me entertained for an hour before I went back to my PSVR backlog.

    • @tzuyd

      Same. Call me jaded (I am), but for the last two generations I've been lucky to be interested in buying two AAA titles a year. If it weren't for the Souls games, the PS3 era would have practically been a complete write off for me.
      VR on the other hand, I've been waiting for 20 years to come back to me. AND now it's in my freaking living room. And it's everything I ever wanted (plus the graphics are a lot better than back then :) ). This generation has surprisingly been remarkably grand.

  • @steve_ire321
    @steve_ire321 7 років тому +1

    Outside of the Switch (because of that obvious Nintendo magic) and its games, I feel exactly the same when it comes to PSVR, or VR as a platform in general. I'd zero interest in buying a PS4, but VR has revived my interest in games almost to the extent of the way I used to feel. In the past decade or so, give or take a few years, gaming in general has just felt stale and boring, save for the odd title. You are absolutely spot on about what you said about VR at the end of this review. People who doubt it just don't understand or have a clue, and if they had their way, we'd all be gaming on a dual shock and Xbox/Playstation console with the same shit for the next two decades. No thank you. Thank god VR has come into maturity when it has.

    • @WithoutParole
      @WithoutParole  7 років тому +2

      Hey Larry, thanks for your comment. I love the innovation and diversity of games the launch of PSVR has brought us. And to think this is just the first generation of VR. i can't wait to see where the technology will be in just a few more years.

    Does this have all the options as the normal pin fx? I usually like to turn off the ball trail just to make it more like a sim. Also can u turn off the background distractions? I think they'd be cool at first but my main reason for buying this would be to make me feel as though I'm playing on an actual table

      I just loaded up Pinball FX2 VR to find your answer. Yes you can turn off the Ball Trail (and pop-up points) but that's it. All of the other distractions are mandatory. I'm not a hardcore pinball fan but I truly enjoyed the additional set pieces and after you play for awhile, you'll barely notice them. Great game, all around.

    Can you transfer tables you already bought in Zen Pinball into Pinball FX VR? I don't really want to buy the same tables twice just to play them again with a VR headset.

    • @WithoutParole
      @WithoutParole  7 років тому +2

      Hey Cyber. Unfortunately no you can't. If there's been one complaint about this game it's that you have to re-buy the tables. I understand the reasoning but it would have been nice to be rewarded for our Zen loyalty over the years.

    • @Cyberbrickmaster1986
      @Cyberbrickmaster1986 7 років тому

      Well that sucks, because they let you transfer tables to the PS4 version of Zen Pinball if you already own them on PS3 or Vita. I get that it doesn't have the same name as the Playstation versions, but having to buy the same tables twice on the same platform is just stupid! I really wish they could work around this, since I don't often use my VR headset because it's a pain to set up and even worse to switch back. Also, it can get pretty hot in there and it only takes a matter of seconds before the screens get fogged up. But maybe it won't be as bad once the weather starts cooling off.

    • @WithoutParole
      @WithoutParole  7 років тому

      I know this has nothing to do with your question but why isn't your VR headset hooked up all the time? My cords run underneath my rug so the PSVR sits on the table next to my couch, always ready to go. Do you have a PS4 Pro?

    • @Cyberbrickmaster1986
      @Cyberbrickmaster1986 7 років тому

      No I don't have a PS4 Pro. Also for some reason when I hook up the VR headset to my console, the picture doesn't display at all on the TV. The only way I can use my PS4 the traditional way again, is to disconnect the VR headset, rewire the PS4 back the way it was and reboot the console in standby to fix the flickering blank screen when I turn on the console. But apart from that, I don't know what else to do. I tried looking up online walkthroughs on google but had no luck finding an answer.

    • @WithoutParole
      @WithoutParole  6 років тому +2

      If these are things that are important to you, then it's time to upgrade to a PlayStation 4 Pro. The PS4 proper does an admirable job of handling VR but the limitations (resolution, foveated rendering, anti-aliasing, etc) are apparent. The Pro handles most games much, much better. And when I played the Finball FX2 VR Universal Classics DLC on my Pro recently, the graphics and resolution were a solid step up from when I reviewed the core game with my OG PS4. :D

  • @dragom3417
    @dragom3417 7 років тому

    The PC version of this game is much better because you can bump up the quality of the resolution. On the PSVR system the resolution seems very low and there is a lot of jaggy edges that strobe as you move your view.. They need to get this fixed as it makes motion sickness a bigger issue even when sitting still. I still love it and will buy all DLC.. I just want people to know that the Steam version for the Vive and Rift are better but only because of the higher resolutions.

    • @WithoutParole
      @WithoutParole  7 років тому +4

      The low resolution of all PSVR games tends to only bother me for a few minutes until I'm immersed into the experience, then I usually don't even notice it anymore. Glad you're enjoying the game (regardless of which platform!)
