The reason why cats go so relaxed when grabbed by the scruff is for survival. If a mother cat (and this applies to big cats too) feels that her kittens are in danger, she will move them to a new safe location. So the kittens go limp when carried like that to make it easier for her, prevent them from attracting unwanted attention and increase their survival chance.
My dad was an electronics instructor at the local college, and owned and operated the local TV & stereo sales and service business. He and his father, who started the business, installed sophisticated sound systems in the local dairy barns and learned that the girls really do prefer classical music. Visiting the barn during the afternoon/evening milking was one of my favorite things to do with my dad and grandpa when he had to make repairs or adjustments.

Sharks don’t attack divers as frequently as you think. Would you be scared if you saw a random alien with weird armor breathing bubbles enter your home all of a sudden?
It may take a few tries to awaken the bird. Tonic immobility is what researchers call "a fear-potentiated response” to being restrained. In other words, the chicken (or any other animal that exhibits this response) is convinced that it is going to die and goes into a kind of cationic state.
Athanasius Kircher wasn't an Italian monk but a German Jesuit. And yes, the line does make a difference, for without the line the chicken will get up much earlier.

Please never do the cat trick. If you get the pinch off by just an inch you can actually do serious if not fatal damage to the cat by crushing nerves or veins
How else am I going to avoid getting shredded to ribbons when I bathe mine I've been doing it long enough to know exactly where to pinch, and only use my fingers, I get that you care, but save the angry "abuse" type comments for videos that recommend dangerous things
Thanks! I will be aware of this. The reason it happens is because it’s how the mother holds it, but pinching the wrong spot can damage your cat, and it doesn’t work on adult cats that go outside often.
I've seen a squirrel die upside down with no injuries, I was so confused for years about it but after seeing about rabbits, it made since. My Dog was chasing a squirrel and I happened to catch it and tried to calm it by laying the squirrel on it's back and took it somewhere comfortable for it to feel safe. I come back awhile later and shocked to find it dead where I left it.
@@ShwetaKumari-jq1gz yes, really I knew it would sound absolutely strange but it did happen and was glad to find an answer to how that squirrel just....... died The poor thing was panicked and froze in fear, hoping it would relax in a safe quiet place. I work at Tractor Supply. My favorite thing to do during chick days are use our scanners and point the little lazer into the tub. Some of the chicks will run and try to attack the dot. The ducks will charge and eat the sawdust piece the light shines on if you leave it on long enough
Love your videos. You cover so much but I have to say. Warthogs are awesome. The babies are adorable and even adults (like in your video) are cute. 😄 IMO Still a great video and I 👍 it
I've "tickled" trout myself. It's easiest when you crawl along the edge of the stream and reach under the bank, going slowly upstream. The trout lay up under the bank facing upstream, close to the bed of the bank to conserve energy. You slowly move your hand upstream and you can feel their tail, you reach under their belly and lightly tap their belly with your fingers as you move up their body. When you get to their head area you grab them in their gills and pull them out. I've eaten 3 trout I caught that way.
Actually, it’s because when they were kits HOLD by their mom, it’s a sign that they are being carried through dangerous territory and Shelby protected by their mother. If they moved, they were dead. That’s why they always have to stay STILL so they wouldn’t die, and it still carries onto the adulthood
The Cuddle fish is a floating light show. Looked pretty cool and was cool to see it catch a fish too. "You cant scuddle from the cuddle." Pretty clever. Was fun to watch. Great video
I was previously aware of the snake charming and the cuttlefish fact but still fascinating to watch. Also the fainting goats trick really only works on younger goats as they eventually find ways to work around the paralysis. They still cant move well but they can move I heard a funny story related to the cat hunting instinct that makes them fascinated with the spinner. The Original Poster had built a gaming PC for a friend, but then the friend called saying that it would restart seemingly at random. he came over to check it out but it didn't seem to do anything until the friend's cat Villain came into the room. OP noticed that the cat seemed facsinated by the PC and confirmed that it was usually in the room when the problem happened. It turns out that the restart issue had nothing to do with the computer, they had put decorative moving lights around the control buttons so the cat kept instinctively batting at the restart. As soon as they removed the lights the PC worked perfectly. So Villain was the villain.
It's shocking to me that you give permission to terrorize a reptile by turning it on its back directly after talking about not doing it to your rabbit because it scares them to death. I'm sure the reptiles aren't too happy about being on their back either. Not to mention some of them do not have diaphragm muscles to breathe when they are on their backs (bearded dragon for example).
I’ve always thought fainting goats are so cute and funny but now I feel terrible because the way you described it, it reminds me of my sleep paralysis and that’s terrifying and sad.
I tried doing this with my mate and it worked! I wasn’t prepared for it! He was zoned out for about 20 mins before recovering and asking how long he’d been out like that 😂
The cows are curious. I used to ride my horses by a farm, the cows would come running to the fence to see us. Then they'd snort and run away, but come right back.
Cows are very curious! I used to ride my bike by a big cow pasture and they would come running to see what was going on. Like a dummy, I would moo at them, but they moo-ed back! Now their pasture is a development. I sure miss the 🐄. 😔
the cow one might have been a bit overstated. We used to raise dairy and beef cattle. They will come up to the fence like shown in the video even without music. You just have to do anything a bit out of the ordinary. Like stand there and talk to them. Doesn't have to be song or music. TLDR: Cows are just super curious about anything different. EDIT: They also don't enjoy loud / startle type noises so no big surprise they respond better to calmer music.
At 16:11 Fainting goats.... You do not have to scare them. Just any type of excitement. Apparently people that raise that type of goat when they take food out to them the goats will sometimes get so excited they will fall over then....
We used to hypnotize our chickens by pressing their head against the ground looking forward and drawing a line from their beak out about 10 times when you take your hands away the chicken stays in the same spot until there is an outside noise or movement
The venomous species currently live only in the Amazon rainforest, and the poison they exude through their skin is due to their diet. If the species is bred in captivity, or if you keep it for some week with a non poisonous diet, there is no risk in touching them without gloves. (but you have to make sure your hands are clean, as with all batrachians you touch.)
Sadly, the thing about sharks is only somewhat true. Sharks have a pressure point on their noses that if you press it, it paralyses them. And they usually flip in response. It takes a few minutes for them to come back to their senses, and divers use this technique to avoid attacks.
If you're ever attacked by an Emu, stick your arm in the air, as high as you can, with your hand looking like a bird beak. Emus won't attack another emu that's noticeably taller than it, and this is enough to make that cautious response kick in.
That hen trick also works on some species of ducks and even on some turkeys, i have seen my dad putting them upside down before making them a part of the dinner, they looked so calm.
well mate you are full of shit it has nothing to do with the line its just being held upside causing them to have so much anxiety and fear they literally give up on there life and accept that they are now prey to something its cruel not mention wrong its not being hypnotised its putting so much fear in the animal it wont move, and not all chickens will react like this and some roosters will actually get angry if u try this and cause them to attack this chanelle is full of miss information and facts that are potentially harmful to humans and animals alike
This is because at that angle the chicken had enough blood flowing to the brain to think thoughts, and so it instantly became a philosopher deep in thought about the meaning of its existance and the significance of it all
The reptile hypnosis one can actually be fatal with some, I had a Bosc/savannah monitor the size of a dog and it’s actually very dangerous to let it be on its back as it’s organs have so much pressure on them from the size of the lizard. So that one might be wrong especially with larger lizards
The problem with the shark trick is that you likely wouldn't have just one to deal with. So while you're trying to render one stunned, you still have to worry about the rest of those that want to make a meal of you.
most sharks are not exactly 'social' creatures. unlike whales or dolphins who live in pods. ofc you can encounter several sharks at once but that is more coincidence (or a food source nearby) than the rule
For me, the laying down with your feet up KIND OF makes your body resemble the shape of an emu, like the emu was sit down with its head being your feet. BUT in this case there would be two "heads", moving btw. Idk, it makes sense to me that they may find you are a very awkward emu sitting down with two moving heads and get curious lol
@8:37 Orcas while hunting in pods use the same technique. They circle a shark, while some of the pod is above pushing down on the shark, the remaining members are striking from below until they get the shark turned upside-down, rendering it immobile. The only part of the shark eaten is the liver. Because the scales of shark skin are razor sharp and over time would wear an Orcas teeth down also causing abrasions and possible digestive injuries. Sharks cannot swim backwards and flipping them upside-down stuns them.

Imagine trying to calm your cat down with a pinch but it doesn’t work and your cat is trying to attack you💀💀💀

@@klydelante5657 Ok
It may take a few tries to awaken the bird. Tonic immobility is what researchers call "a fear-potentiated response” to being restrained. In other words, the chicken (or any other animal that exhibits this response) is convinced that it is going to die and goes into a kind of cationic state.
Athanasius Kircher wasn't an Italian monk but a German Jesuit. And yes, the line does make a difference, for without the line the chicken will get up much earlier.
really love your videos
My pug has me hypnotized. I never knew a dog could be so loving. Need love? Get a pug. Have a wonderful day everyone.

We used to catch frogs by circling a finger in a spiral as we slowly walk towards them. Odd, but it worked.
I loved the part with the "Bobbin' Birds", it's so fascinating. I never knew you can do that

Please never do the cat trick. If you get the pinch off by just an inch you can actually do serious if not fatal damage to the cat by crushing nerves or veins
Thank for being aware of cats
Thank u for ur concern about cats
😭😭😱😱
How else am I going to avoid getting shredded to ribbons when I bathe mine
I've been doing it long enough to know exactly where to pinch, and only use my fingers, I get that you care, but save the angry "abuse" type comments for videos that recommend dangerous things
Really?

I work at Tractor Supply. My favorite thing to do during chick days are use our scanners and point the little lazer into the tub. Some of the chicks will run and try to attack the dot. The ducks will charge and eat the sawdust piece the light shines on if you leave it on long enough
I do have a fear of snakes too, and I’m too scared to even touch one, or even get close

The “pinch” works because that’s how momma kitty moves them quickly

Nice vid with informed explanations! Bit long for the content but still, informative!
I know a little girl who hypnotizes chickens. She even paints their toes 😄

They still cant move well but they can move
I heard a funny story related to the cat hunting instinct that makes them fascinated with the spinner.
Agreed, some of these are unethical, stupid and dangerous to suggest.
@@tarabytez I Agree.
That scuba diver that flipped the shark was like: "Not today"
the shark: "Aw come on"
I’ve always thought fainting goats are so cute and funny but now I feel terrible because the way you described it, it reminds me of my sleep paralysis and that’s terrifying and sad.

Fainting goats....
You do not have to scare them. Just any type of excitement. Apparently people that raise that type of goat when they take food out to them the goats will sometimes get so excited they will fall over then....

Me and my class did the first one with our school chickens! It was hard to pick them up but it was worth it in the end.
When the trout came up 😂 Bad memories 😂
WHY?
We used to hypnotize our chickens by pressing their head against the ground looking forward and drawing a line from their beak out about 10 times when you take your hands away the chicken stays in the same spot until there is an outside noise or movement
Dumb. The line literally does nothing
And Why The Hell Would You Do Such A Thing. ???? GRRRRRRRR.

Snakes are so amazing I love catching them
I wonder about the toads 🐸 if possibly because the poison in them is hallucinogenic to humans, maybe they’re just always tripping 😆
Don't worry I have subscribed and hit the bell
Amazing
After I tried the cat trick, it scratched me 😂😂😂
Sadly, the thing about sharks is only somewhat true. Sharks have a pressure point on their noses that if you press it, it paralyses them. And they usually flip in response. It takes a few minutes for them to come back to their senses, and divers use this technique to avoid attacks.
If you rub a garter snake between their eyes, it hypnotizes them. I did it. I believe that works on a few animals as well.
I love cats
OMG ALL OF IT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ADORABLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE OMGGGGGG

In 1932, Australia LOST a war with emus.
😂😂😂
If you're ever attacked by an Emu, stick your arm in the air, as high as you can, with your hand looking like a bird beak. Emus won't attack another emu that's noticeably taller than it, and this is enough to make that cautious response kick in.
That hen trick also works on some species of ducks and even on some turkeys, i have seen my dad putting them upside down before making them a part of the dinner, they looked so calm.
😳........🤢.
well mate you are full of shit it has nothing to do with the line its just being held upside causing them to have so much anxiety and fear they literally give up on there life and accept that they are now prey to something its cruel not mention wrong its not being hypnotised its putting so much fear in the animal it wont move, and not all chickens will react like this and some roosters will actually get angry if u try this and cause them to attack this chanelle is full of miss information and facts that are potentially harmful to humans and animals alike
@@whatalyfe4799 Thanks for the truth. This is disgusting that abuse of an animal is allowed to be viewed.
The cat in the square was my fav- ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD.
👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
The problem with the shark trick is that you likely wouldn't have just one to deal with. So while you're trying to render one stunned, you still have to worry about the rest of those that want to make a meal of you.
most sharks are not exactly 'social' creatures. unlike whales or dolphins who live in pods. ofc you can encounter several sharks at once but that is more coincidence (or a food source nearby) than the rule
5:13 poor toad 😅 I wish it would have been better for him 😂
10:02 I'm going to have to give that a try. So far, I've only found one or two toys my cats like. Maybe they'd like a fidget spinner.
sharks are like the safest things in the world bruh, i love them
I have seen the hypnotized chicken thing work. It's true.
Cows.... The old cowboys sang to the cattle at night to keep them calm.
Snakes are pretty cool, in my opinion. I once held an albino and it loved me.
Freezing chicken!
