Awesome video my dude! Keep crushing it! 👊
very good video! You deserve more followers !
Nice review there Jonathan. I was planning to pick the Godox ML60bi or the just-released Amaran COB 60X as a key light for creating content out of a studio nook. I was looking at the P60C panel as prefer a smaller footprint, but COB lights offer better versatility that I could use later. Have you checked the COB 60X? It is really small and looks like a good option for talking headshots. Is the 100X a better choice at 30 bucks more?
Thanks! We've ordered 3 60x's and will review them when they finally arrive. I think they will be a great option because of their small size and more importantly battery operation.
I mentioned it in my Aputure 60x review but I think in most quick corporate interview scenarios the 60's should be more than enough power. We will pair them with the 100x's so that when we have access to power and have more set up time we will use the 100x as a key with a larger soft box and the 60x as a hair light and when on the move will we use the 60x with a lightdome mini or umbrella.
For yourself, if they are just for a studio space and you'll always have access to power then probably going for the 100x makes more sense, even the 100d as you probably won't need to change the colour temperature.
@@JonathanPalfrey Thanks for your response. I see your point and will likely pick the 100x since that gives me better flex as a key light
Its already COB 60XS !
@@JonathanPalfrey hey another question... i have here a complete darkened black Studio room (Just a few Leds and lights pointed on my monitor speakers etc. The room is about 5meters in lenght. I want to light up that room or better say me, for talking headshots. I was looking to get ther 200x S as keylight, do you think it will be good to go with that one? if not, please let me know. Greetings
Thanks for the review, what power was the 100x on at the time of filming?
I believe I had it on 100% through the light dome ii. You can see that’s it’s balanced me with the outside quite well
What size softbox are you using currently in this video?
That was the aputure light dome II
Have you noticed the fan being loud? Having an almost fast clicking sound?
No not on the 100x. Might be worth getting it replaced
Great review. Do you think three of these are a good option for a kit you can travel with for corporate shots and interviews?
Really good for that. Personally I’d probably mix it up a bit and have one 200x for the power, one 100x and one 60x for portability/battery operation
Great shoot thank you. Really love the content. Keep up the great work.
@@Leo.Hunter no problem, actually was shooting a video about the Amaran kit I travel with earlier so keep any eye out for that one.
@@JonathanPalfrey will do for sure. Hopefully the price will go down a bit now that there is a new iteration of them.
hmmm bhphoto has a deal on the amaran 100x lights right now for $129. hmmmmmm
Ooh that's a very good deal. I wonder if a new light is coming.
Is it powered by Battery or direct electricity Please?
did you watch the video? He talks about it
Less talking more showing, demonstrating
try working on your sound. i turned you up really loud but still understand you poorly. it seems the lows and low mids are way up but the frequ for speech is a little quiet. let a sound expert make your EQ once, then you know what too look for for understandability.
His voice is a little low-mid heavy, but there's nothing egregious here at all as far as legibility. Sounds just fine on an iPhone 14, nice and loud with good dialog level and balance in mono.
Maybe the phone you're watching on has some dust in the speaker grills?
@@BrewReview i listened to it on studio monitors. Other videos about the same topic before and after watching this had a lot better voice recognition thats why it even stood out.
