The only point to the S version is the improved colour accuracy which is the only thing you didn't test. I mean no offence of course just wanted to mention. Curtis Judd did some tests and says the 200x S is the most colour accurate LED he's ever tested.
in a quiet room, standing 1 meter from the light, about 30% output, can you hear the 200xS fan by ear? not asking about microphones, our use case would be a gallery space with low ceiling and spotlight se attachment, thanks!
I can hear it. But If I have a modifier on or I'm not really paying attention, I don't hear it/ it doesn't bother me. The SE might help to block what little noise there is. They've also fix the fan, so that you can control it in the app I believe. I may be wrong on that. But I see to recall that they did something to address the fan noise. Maybe they just have a new fan inside. It is much better then the 200x. Hope that helps.
They are two different lights that do different things. Both can be used as a key light. It just depends on what you want to do with them. The 150C can add color to your background if you plan to use another key light. It's multi functional. However the 200x s has a bit more power and is smaller. Again, it depends on your usage. One is not "Better then the other", as they have different functions.
I see that you are creating fashion videos. So maybe adding colorful backgrounds might be useful for your UA-cam videos. I would suggest getting a gray backdrop and then pointing the color lights at that. Gray picks colors like blue better then white, especially if your camera is set to 3200K. White reflects light on to the subject a bit too much whilst gray causes the light to be a bit more saturated. As long as you have a good strong key, which it looks like you already do, this should help send your videos to another level. best of luck!
How is the xs an upgrade when all your light readings showed the x had brighter output? I'm really confused. Your own readings have the x coming in brighter, yet you say the opposite.
Well, this is 200w and those are 300w. So you are getting a little more power with Nanlite. The amaran is smaller and lighter. I found the FC series to be a bit on the bulky side. I have the FS series which they just keep adding lights to. Those are still larger than amaran but they look more like Nanlite's pro line. It really depends on the the job, what aesthetics you want to show the client and how much weight you wan to carry with you.
I was honestly always kinda bothered by the case/box on these. The cheaper 60X model even comes in a hard styrofoam casing that's easy to open/store the light. Other lights at similar price points offer bags that resemble the beloved Aputure 120D's and offer more of a premium feel to it (SmallRig RC, Feelworld FL). Not sure if its because Aputure owns Amaran and wants the Lightning Storm line as the premium or what--but it's just something that bothers me. The lights are amazing! I just hate packing these things... Edit: I see the cases you linked-just kinda disappointed in that one flaw for $300+.
According to my Rep at Aputure, they really are trying to keep cost down for the content creators. This is unfortunately one of the cuts they had to make. I get it. But hopefully the ever growing competition will change that in future releases.
They shipped the extra buttons in case they fall off. (Duh.) Not likely but in case they do, you don't have to replace the whole unit. It's a nice sign of consideration from Aputure.
They shouldn't fall off in the first place. Aputure/Amaran seems to be having quality control issues lately. Hopefully they won't make a habit out of it.

I did preface that by saying I don’t have a spectrometer. So… Maybe this year I will be able to afford one. Stay tuned.
@@Ranger7Studios Ah I must have missed that bit 😅
@@Ranger7Studios A spectrometer isn't necessary, you can light yourself to check the difference in color.
Really impressed with the changes made to both vs the original one I received when they first came to market.
I watched this months ago and didn't leave a comment, just subscribed and doing the due diligence.
Thanks!

They include the extra knobs because as I found out the hard way, they will crack in half for like...no reason
Ah. Interesting.
Today i bought 200x i feel so happy and thanks for good video 🤘🏼
Enjoy!
Hi ! What you prefer 150 c or 200 x s ? I can’t decide

Where can i find the red small tripod? or something similar...
The Red Tripod is linked below. :)
How is the xs an upgrade when all your light readings showed the x had brighter output?
I'm really confused. Your own readings have the x coming in brighter, yet you say the opposite.
Oops. Looks like I miss marked the readings. thanks for catching that. I will make a note in the description.
Is there something I don't understand, the 200XS can also connect with V-Mount batteries and the 200X can't?
No. Neither are v-mountable. You would need to but the Aputure power converter in order to use vmounts. Otherwise they are plug in only.
@@Ranger7Studios Ok thank you very much, then with a converter I could connect them to V batteries.? For both versions X and S.
Is this better than the nanligt fc300 or fs300 bi?

@@Ranger7Studios Ok, what do you recommend for me, fs300 bi or fc300bi?
@@Ranger7Studios I have the FS series which they just keep adding lights؟ how
you did not touch on how ways the light s powered ??
By extension cord only. Same as the X.
You can also buy a v mount docking station externally
They included extra buttons because the buttons break.
thx for testing

How much lux on 1% brighntess?
An insignificant amount. Not even worth testing.

SmallRig 220B is better?
Steven Michael Who?
Ok the OLD Amaran 200X much better than 200XS and cheaper
your comment doesnt make any sense
No
