Lovely bike and defo lovely livery! Wish we had it in Europe! A tip for the newer rider of V2's, you don't necessarily have to blip the throttle and rev match when downshifting, just don't fully close the throttle, I found that very useful and it keeps the bike balanced. Engine brake on V2's, even on smaller ones like this one, it's quite aggressive and easy to lock. Just keep it open a tad when downshifting, you still get the braking power and reduce greatly the risk of lock up.
Absolutely. I put 300km on it that day and as soon as I got home I rode my wife's bicycle to collect my daughter from school. Wasn't tired at all. The KTM would have killed me with all its torque and speed in a 300km day!
Christ I was happy eh :D Love the SV650 as your know :) Thanks for the shout out :D The special 400/650 eh :D The colours look badass too :) Can brakes be too powerful? :P I'd say it'd be nice to have all the stopping power once you get used to them! All the bells and whistles on that bike eh!! Class! They're so much fun, and I really do think riding a slow bike fast rather than a fast bike slow is more fun!! :)
100% mate. Much more fun using all of your power than only 50% of it. It's like keeping a tiger in a cage...needs to be freeeee mannnnn. And yeah...you were very happy that day haha 😃
Sweet ride TJ . Ahh The old Suzuki Itchy nitchy notchy ignition barrell ! Top hack for ya pull the key by the top (when fully inserted😉 ) towards you when sat on the bike then turn to the right works every time👍🏻
Awesome to watch and listen! Thank you. 👍😎 If you’re planning on removing the rear pegs a matching seat cowl will finish it of nicely! The Gizer front end (600 or 750) would do the trick and match the nice aftermarket rear end. Or a cheaper way (especially if you can notice a bit of movement in the front) would be to replace the fork oil with something heavier than suggested. It will help with your weight for both compression and rebound! Stick with the 160 section rear tyre as you won’t get any benefits from a 180, might even have a negative effect. Great buy and yes get rid of that 400 sticker! 😜
I’ve had 3 SVs in its various models. Great motor but the front suspension does need some adjusting. The SV650s was likely my favourite of the bunch. Well done you.
Nice one! Suspension is needed. Today proved that to me. Check out my latest video...you can see it going up and down even on the slightest touch of the throttle!
Nice bike mate! Someone has really put love into it, that's obvious. Might want to change your signature to show the acquiring of your new baby. Congrats! Nice find!
grats on the new bike, looks lovely in that colour scheme. I am quite tempted to grab an SV myself, be a nice trackday tool and fun on the twisties too! :-)
You should do it. We can be motovlog brothers from a different mother! I was thinking of doing a shout-out to you next...maybe go through all my favourite channels and do a shout-out in my next videos. You up for sending me some 1080p footage to use? 🤗
Great choice! What makes this SV650 so special, like every other SV650, whether it be faired or naked, is that fantastic V twin engine. It just gives these bikes so much more character, over a middle-powered bike, with a standard twin parallel engine.
Hi. Surely that is an SV400? Don't think that colour scheme was ever offered on the 650 but it is my favorite! I have a 2000 s and just love it! I think the 400 also have a single disc in front? Anyway, a lovely machine!
I love the sv650 - its a way better bike than the 1000 version which was possibly the most uncomfortable bike I've ever ridden (weird geometry) . The name change threw me a bit but now we've found you again !
Yeah, I ride a FZ1 and recently bought a 2007 SV650S for exactly the reasons you stipulate. I wanted a zippy little bike for the country roads because the Yamaha is too powerful to rev out on such roads.
I've recently just bought one myself for all the reasons you stated. I've heard nowt but good things about em. I sold my zx9r as it was just not suited to the daily commute and I just did not gel with it. It's nice to be back on something that Is flickable and easy to ride. Also what jacket is that you have ? I quiet like it.
Funny you should say that...(about the jacket) heading out to the beach today to do a rundown of all my winter gear plus a test of a chargeable heated vest... Stay tuned 😉
I am thinking of getting 2002 SV650S for track use. Test rode it the other day and found myself quite uncomfortable with clip ons. I could not go around corners as fast as I do on my naked CB. I guess it is because I am not used to clip ons. Otherwise what a perfect little bike. Brakes are shit though. Still have little doubts about getting it. Worst feeling when you can't decide what to do. Nice video btw. p.s. Throttle travel is wayyyy to long
@@bikehubjapan Yeah definitely. Plus it was very cold and my mind did not want to lean at all :))) Anyway the exammple I am looking at has 40k kilometers on, full service history and it is in perfect condition for 1600 usd. I think I should not be discussing it for that price.
Got myself 2014 S. I've not ride yet. Lock down now, damn C.19. In fact I have not seen it in metal. Brought it over phone hahaha, first time I ever buy a bike this way😁
Subbed! I'm a returning rider after many years of not riding. After some research it seemed a common consensus was the SV650 was a good choice, everyone seemed to like it. So I bought one sight unseen online, and it's great. The first time I opened it up on the highway I thought sh*t, I'm glad I got a beginners bike haha! It has more than enough power and grunt for normal riding. The fact they are well regarded as track bikes is an extra benefit. I really don't see how I will ever outgrow this or need more power. The speed limit here in australia is 110 kmh, so why would I need something with 150HP? I'll be keeping a lookout for more of your videos, I really like the rider POV, and its great clear video and good sound.
Sorry for my slow reply mate. Totally agree with you...for the road it's perfect and for the track it's ideal. Never felt like I wanted more power on the track this week...just wanted better suspension and tyres. With track day tyres I think it will be awesome. Let's see what this year brings... 😎
How you feeling the power now? Still happy? I'm doing my motorcycle access course on an MT07 Yamaha right now. And I feel the same. We've been out onto roads you can give it some beans, and I just cannot understand how people need more, or how I'll stop having it be fun.
Brakes, who needs them; they only slow you down. Smaller bikes is where it's at, cheap to purchase, cheap to own, cheap to operate, cheap to fix. Ride it at its limits, put it away wet & repeat. Fork oil, Superbrace between the forklegs & fork emulator would change the SV650 for every penny worth. Forget the Super Duke, SV650 is much easier to sort out. No need for wider rear wheel/tire, that just robs HP from the engine & make leaning sluggish. GSXR front end is overkill, overrated.
Suzuki's tend to sound like that on camera and they don't have the quietest valvetrain either. To make matters worse, certain cameras mics are designed to pull out voice and really does obnoxious things when played back at volume. I will typically put a piece of clear packing tape over the mic input and this seems to tone it down quite a bit, but I would say that bike actually sounds perfect for an SV.
It's been bugging me a bit. I'll have a look at the tensioner after work tonight and see if it quietens it down a bit. Will change the oil too as I don't know when the previous owner did it last...
its good bike but far from best ever made beside such bike dont egzist unless you turn on some very precise category like rim arm angle 🤭 os + dobra muza 👍🏻 co do sv 650 zmienil bym sporo manetki pare cm wyzej zadupek blizej dla lepszego zaparcia mocnijszy dol zamaist lancuszkow kola zebate 5 biegow zamaist 6 na wysiwetlaczu pare fjuczersuf i jeszcze dlugo by wymieniac czego to ja bym niezmienil zeby mi w 100% pasowal ten psidzik ale ogolnie jest lepszy od paru sprzetow 😉🤭👋🏻
The best bike ever made? YES!!! The brakes are comically horrendous. The suspension is barely adequate. The finish is poor. Apart from that - definitely best bike ever.

blipping/down shifting is the most fun thing on these bikes though
Must try that, i've locked up a few times.
I own a curvy SV myself, an absolute dream of a bike to ride without feeling exhausted after
Absolutely. I put 300km on it that day and as soon as I got home I rode my wife's bicycle to collect my daughter from school. Wasn't tired at all. The KTM would have killed me with all its torque and speed in a 300km day!
My SV650S curvy with the clip-ons is super tiring to ride, but I'm also a small person.
Oh and the bike’s cool too 🤣 ... also I reckon them welds are legit correct for the model. Thanks for the shout out!!! ☺️
Christ I was happy eh :D Love the SV650 as your know :) Thanks for the shout out :D The special 400/650 eh :D The colours look badass too :)

Great vid, makes me giddy to get my sv650s delivered
I almost didn't click on this video as I didn't recognise the name. Cool man. I'd love a twin for the torque.
Haha...yeah I did a name change haha. Anything for clicks 🤪
I still have my 2010 SV650S which is now an N from a small mishap. Many other bikes have come and gone since then but she still remains 😊
Sweet ride TJ . Ahh The old Suzuki
Itchy nitchy notchy ignition barrell ! Top hack for ya pull the key by the top (when fully inserted😉 ) towards you when sat on the bike then turn to the right works every time👍🏻
I'll give that a go...cheers binda

Have may vids about the SV. Perfectly agree. The engine is special. :) Go check my channel, have one.

Well reminded that man! I will change my signature post haste. Cheers mate 👍
That SV is really clean. Nice find.

650 with 400 bodywork...only the 400 came with the cool Suzuki racing colours 👍 650s only came in plain colours I believe
I love the sv650 - its a way better bike than the 1000 version which was possibly the most uncomfortable bike I've ever ridden (weird geometry) . The name change threw me a bit but now we've found you again !

I'm not a fanboi of any particular bike manufacturer. But I will say that Suzy just makes road bikes that handle nicely.
quick question, why not use gopro angle from windhsield mount since it was alreday there? just curious how it would look?
I can't remember why. Probably one of the GoPro batteries had died. They're quite shit to be honest

I just got a 03’ Model, looks beautiful
Sweet looking bike. Just got one for a few hundred bucks. About to swap a motor in and give it a go!
Ah... new channel name! Nice looking bike, have only heard good things about them.
You'll probably be hearing more good things from me too as long as it lives upto its name reliability wise... 👍

hello
It's called TORA.

@@bikehubjapan Roger that, will do
Is it because of having the throttle on the right hand people from uk doesn’t do the “bro-code”? If so, sad.
You mean waving to other bikers? In Japan they either don't do it, or they do it in a crazy funny way. Depends on the rider...
