That amount of money is too much, we need to balance the gap between the poor and the rich, government salaries should never make any individual to be rich but to make them live a normal life. The reason is that they are in government as servant to save the people not to get a platform to make millions. They must take this huge amount of money and use it to create jobs for South African and give less than R20000 to every minister on platform, that will be fair. Think about it 🤔❤️😍🥰
Being a politician is nice, lies to people, and you get R2+ million a year plus more for security and transport. I would say they did deserve it if they did their job and if they were not corrupt.
Let's pay them minimum wage, serving the country should be reward enough, but if not, they can always refuse, there are many people waiting at the door to get into the cabinet. Honestly though, the new cabinet isn't even formed yet and the first thing they talk about it is the wage.
The problem is if they earn minimum wage they will be easier to bribe.
Sounds great, an amazing salary and you don't have to be accountable for anything. Also you won't get fired for the foreseeable future.
The world systems are designed in to practically reinforce inequalities yet rhetorically claiming to close the gap. Politicians are selfishly wise, while voters like myself are all naive to believe that a human being can put the interest of everyone before their own. Why do we support certain politicians over others, for they all want the same thing, hence they were able to form GNU or whatever you prefer to call it. Naivety of the voters is absurdity, however we are caged by the system

A leader that lies in court, claiming to have evidence of a fraudulent election, then doesn't present any evidence just in an attempt to stall. That's who you want as a leader? A liar and a barbarian. Not to even mention all the corruption over the years.
