That’s some intense planning and resource management. So many traps, potions, smoke bombs, weapons, and ammo to keep track of using at certain points of the arena battles. Impressive!!
Yeah sometimes it's a lot to keep track of. Once you figure out the approach you're going to use though it's just a matter of doing it over and over until you get a good run though lol.
It is so comforting to see you make the occasional mistake or have a plan not work. But you stay so chill and keep going. And you are still so amazing.
Hey thanks! Glad you find that comforting 😄 I’m certainly not perfect. The only way I got good at these challenges was by practicing a lot and making many mistakes lol. Glad you liked the video and thanks for your comment!
This is, by far, the best Ultra Hard Arena tutorial for Forbidden West. If I end up making it to 100% game completion on a NG+ UH run, you will definitely be in my credits roll.
I'm not even kidding, I went from not being able to beat the From the Deep challenge, to the top 39th global spot. 52 seconds, DocRyan88, that's me. Got a little lucky with all the traps hitting nessy while hitting the Crocs. Thanks for the content!
@@ryanmcgloondc1014 I wonder if the explosion radius of those has been nerfed because I struggle to hit even two of them. Sometimes they look so close but don't even hit a single one of them when I try to place them in the middle. I'm sure I'll manage eventually when all stars align, but it's not nearly as easy as it's looking on the video. :(
THE most frustrating time your ever likely to have in a video game, the enemies like to pummel and juggle you endlessly making for a highly frustrating experience as there really is no chance to attack or form any kind of attack, also, the fact that the Arena does not let you use you hard earnt weapons in his mode is a fkn travesty.
Hey thanks Captured! I do put a lot of work into my videos, so I appreciate you recognize that 😄 Glad you think they’re getting better, too! Thanks for your comment!
Was struggling a little bit with ultra hard arena, especially since I did a new game on ultra hard and not a new game plus. Started thinking and thought, “Wait, why not spam traps everywhere?” Started to then breeze through the challenges and ended up finishing apex predators is just under 2 minutes. Good video and great strats as always.
That video is so amazing. On my hard playthrough when I first encountered the set loadout challenges I became super frustrated because I had no idea how you could ever beat them with those bad weapons. Now on my NG+ playthrough I watched more like these arena tutorial videos and learned that you could craft traps in set loadout challenges and all that useful stuff. With that knowledge I now had a fun time beating the set loadout challenges on ultra hard which previously seemed unreasonably difficulty, so thank you very much for the time and effort you put into these videos, much appreciated.
All your videos are great, but this one helped me do something I never thought I'd be able to do, which is complete the arena on UH. I used a lot of your strategies but was also able to come up with my own to help complete the challenges. Love your channel and I hope it keeps growing.
Amazing! Thanks for making a guide. The fixed load out challenges are hard but you make it look so effortless. I'd love to see your fastest time guide for arena.
I told myself I wasn't going to do the arena in Ultra Hard ng+ because frankly there's no reward for it. There's no trophy attached to it and no new armor or weapons. So, why bother? Well, having done everything in Ultra Hard I knew I couldn't let this unfinished and your video helped me out immensely. I've been watching your videos for months now and not only have they improved my skills but they've also made this game more fun than it already is. Thank you so much for all your hard work and all the effort you put in to these videos.
Finally completed all levels in the arena, your videos have helped me so much! I was really tempted to give up on Apex Predators. I even went ahead to reduce the difficulty to story to complete it, but it didnt feel right. Loaded up a save and eventually managed to complete on Very Hard difficulty. Looking forward to watching your guide on playing NG+ in Ultra Hard mode 😊
Nice video. This was the only part of the game that I switched difficulty on because I just got so frustrated trying to get through these challenges to get some of the weapons. At some point, I'm just not having fun anymore and it's time to move on. I'll have to give these techniques a try when I get around to new game+. I'm still leveling up weapons before I get started.
Thanks! Yeah the Arena is very frustrating. Definitely no shame in turning the difficulty down to get through hit the first time. I hope you find these tips helpful if you go back in NG+!
I recently (more or less) completed the game for the first time and did it on ultra hard and found it relatively straightforward to do. But the arena has been a different story. I didn't realise your materials are replenished after each success or failure, so I've been extremely conservative and haven't used anything remotely powerful (as I've found accumulating material on ultra hard quite tough), which has ultimately lead to failure after failure. So learning that you are actually able to use exactly what you want has been a great revelation. Hopefully, the next time I comment here, I will have completed each challenge.
I am playing normal difficulty at work with remote play and at home on my LG OLED 120hz TV while it is fun, games like this to get 100% takes so much time from your life that you could be spending self improvement, books, audio books, certification, courses, traveling, learning new skills, working out in the gym, running, skateboarding, having a life, spending time with my wife. Time is more precious than money, there are people in the cemetery that wish they could have more time with someone they love. Don't let dopamine hit gaming get you. Just like Warframe, keeps you glued in. Much love
You have made my gaming experience much more enjoyable and easier to gameplan in Horizon Forbidden West. I thank you for such great videos. Awesome job.
Thanks. I had failed to get past Rematch so many times. Never got all 3 elite purgewater traps down before slitherfang attacked, but got the challenge by following your other tips.
You make this look way to easy! I'm on the thunderjaw challenge now thanks to your videos. I'll give it a go soon. With enough practice your strategies have made this possible for me.
You made Apex Predators look sooooo easy. Dude, I've died there at least 150 times lol It is the only thing I have not done on ultra hard. Thank you for the guide and inspiration to try again.
Haha thanks! It’s certainly not easy, so I’m glad you thought it looked that way lol 😅 I hope these tips help you out if you decide to go for it! 👍 Good luck!
This has been eye opening. Great video and info. It sort of bugs me that I was unaware of some of these mechanics since they are so unintuitive. Like attacking the middle of the slitherfang to build knockdown or the fact that a smoke bomb confuses enemies and you dont have to stay in the smoke itself to be stay concealed
Thanks! Glad you found this helpful. Yeah the game doesn’t explain many of the mechanics like knockdown and such, so you’re definitely not alone there!
You make this look so easy. Meanwhile a single Fireclaw made me want to toss my controller out the window! Really appreciate these videos, they are without a doubt top notch aides. So back to your masterclass vids for this guy lol. Keep making these great videos mate!
No, just that it took more than one life to kill it. The ability to launch itself into my slide/dodge was a bit frustrating. Also tried new gear for the encounter lol so that didn't help much lol.
@@JasonValls Yeah the tracking/trageting system overall needs some polish, as does the slide mechanic, nothing is more "fun" then to get by tremor, reduced to walking speed and no sliding, then hit by the effect. Or like you said, getting tracked and then crushed. Slide needs more then i frame, something lkke the Low Health Defense when sliding with crush/state resistance
Thank you good sir. Been waiting on this video a long time and you did not disappoint! Excellent tutorial and by far the best Horizon FW videos out there.
I mastered the arena really easily. Just set the difficulty to story before entering. Then blast yourself through all the challenges and collect the heap of medals. Then set the difficulty back again. Saves you A LOT of frustration.
I guess I suck then. Lol bc just the first challenge is hard for me. There is just too many to deal with at once and the time limit they put on it is not enough. It’s hard for me to even tie them down bc im constantly being attacked. Can hardly put traps down bc of it. I also put it on story.
You make this game interesting. I erased it off my ps5 after a hour because i didn't feel like learning all the new stuff and i just picked up elden ring ill re-download it because you made them game look fun
Awesome! Yeah honestly it can take a little time to get going in Forbidden West. The beginning is slow. But once you’re past The Daunt it gets much more interesting.
I hated doing these because I could never figure out how to win. Especially since they give you a set of weapons to use. This video helps a ton. Still die a lot lol but I do much better now than I did before 👍
How are you able to win in the time limit? I keep failing because i run out of time. I'm not sure it's even worth doing these on a hard difficulty just to reap the rewards.
NGL, I thought, oh Arena - not interested. Then I watched it, because I know how good your videos are and I was sad when it was over. Amazing content, really. I have more hours into the game and I still learned new stuff. I'm starting to think you must have a career in teaching and/or making e-learning videos since you structure everything so well.
Hey thanks a lot! Glad you like my content enough to watch a video on a topic you’re not interested in lol 😆 Glad you liked it anyway though 🙂 And you’re on the right track! I do actually have a degree in teaching. I don’t teach for my day job anymore, but I do enjoy teaching!
@@ArktixOfficial Wow, that's amazing. Guess it takes one to know one. Also have a degree in teaching but never really went for it as a full time job. 😃
Took the Apex Predators down on UH today using some of the tips from this video, def. key to me finally making it after weeks of practice THANKS for these videos, epic help !!
Thank you for the Guide (and all the others), it helped a lot, along with MrFancyPants guides.. For Apex Predators I used the version where you kill the Scorcher with 4 Elite Purgewater traps without roping the Thunderjaw first. It seems to me that setting VSync to "half refresh rate" (=30Hz) actually works on PC. At least the Scorcher died pretty fast for once 😂 - and after that I had enough bombs to trigger 2 Knockdowns on the thunderjaw. That one was definitely a tough challenge, but at least it felt (for the most part) fair - even on ultra-hard.
Great tips thanks for advice, I was about to turn down difficulty but really felt like a cop out. Nice presentation style as well, clear and concise. 👍
Not going to lie your channel is Elite for the size, wish you all the best for future growth. I thought you had more than 100k because your presentation skills are next level
Wow thanks! Glad you think my content is high quality 😄 I do put a lot of work into it. Hopefully 100k someday in the not too distant future. Thanks for your comment!
What I tend to do for from the deep is use spread blast for the boltblaster and head to the sides of the arena to stop the snapmaws doing the annoying attack. I then shock one of the snapmaws and quickly take them out with more shock bolts. I then go for the tideripper and repeat the process but aiming for the tidal disc right away and then finally do the same on the final snapmaw. For tremortusk tussle what I did is deployed a smoke bomb and used sustained burst shock bolts on the clawstriders to quickly take them out I then used sustained burst frost bolts on the tremortusk and used splitting spike on the tremortusk with powershots. The others I got help from the discord.
I want to thank you for putting out these videos they have been extremely helpful in the game and in the arena appreciate the time and the effort that you go through for this stuff hope you keep up with it
You’re very welcome! Glad you’re finding my content helpful 😄 I’ll be slowing down with Horizon content for a bit so I can focus on God of War, but I have lots more to Horizon content I want to make, so there will be more! Thanks for your comment 👍
Sorry for being late! Solid advice as always. You definitely did your arena challenges smoother than I did. We had similar or the same strategies each challenge. You are probably still better than me at the game ;) I'm looking forward to seeing your insane arena challenge times play out! I will definitely be taking notes c:
So good mann.I'm not definitely a plannerin trapper in Horizon game series.I'm now at level 42 and still didn't try arena as lost the opening challenge. I'm try again with these tips
Nice Arktix! New Vids on my New Favorite game! Your Vids are Extremely Helpful from Coverage of all the Best Armor & Weapons to How to use them to Defeat All the Most Powerful Foes. Thank You So Much for All the Skilled Research, the Masterfully Produced Vids and All the Hard Work You put into them. Gratefully Appreciated!!!
I'll have to watch this after I finish the game. I tried the arena pretty early on and left in tears. That first locked load-out almost made me rage quit. I made it to level 50 went on the Faro mission. By then I had some decent tools to work with. I managed to eek my way through these. I found the key to the locked load-out ones was to just not die. Keep slugging away and not die. I ran over time and still got medals. I got enough to get the Nora Thunder Warrior, then ran off to upgrade that to max. Have to say, I'm not so keen on the Legendary Weapons on offer. I like what I've got presently, and it'll take me many hours still to upgrade the Wings of the Ten blast sling and Sun Scorcher Bow. I think once I've got that finished, I'll go ahead and finish the game. But then... Comes the second play-through hehehe... Gonna be employing all these tricks then.
That’s wild. I still haven’t gotten medals and I ran over the time. What’s going on? Did they change it to not getting any medals if you go over the dumb time?
I am late to this party but i wanted to say thank you for your hard work. I have learned so much from your videos. I also want to thank the people that you thank in your videos that help assist you. This is the most fun game I've ever played and i absolutely am in love with it.
Just when i thought you cant outdo your last video. You just keep getting better man! I must say i dont leave comments coz its time consuming but i just want appreciate your dedication on your vids. Keep it up :)
Echoing what others are saying, traps are totally different on PC right now. From the Deep cannot be done with this strategy because the shock traps are either totally bugged or just don't have enough damage/radius to affect the machines as seen here. Thanks so much for the help getting past Rematch though!
Yeah unfortunately traps are still bugged on PC. You can still use traps by dodging through them to trigger them, but that's a more advanced tactic that I didn't cover in this video. I would encourage people to submit a bug report about the traps! Report here: www.playstation.com/en-us/horizon/support/
The annoying thing to me is the time limit. I like running around, stealthing, using potions, it takes time. I hate losing medals just because I took 1 minute and 32 seconds to kill 3 machines instead of 1 minute and 30 seconds.
Nice vid man thx for the tips And here are my recommended weapons Sun scourge Sky killer Relentless bolt blaster Lightning h. Bow Elite rope caster Regalla’s wrath/delta S bow
Thanks! And good recommendations for sure! I was trying to keep it to purchasable items, but I totally agree those are great recommendations if you can get them.
Thank you for this video man! That last thunderjaw is soo annoying tho. I get to the point where i place 2 elite acid traps after i have shot his blaze canisters. Then he just charges me and i die over and over again. Can’t seem to dodge in time :(
Your videos have helped me so much! Wondering if you have one on how to use the elite ropecaster you mention here. I didn’t play Zero Dawn (although I will after I’ve exhausted this game), and hadn’t been using ropes at all through the whole game. Your shredder video basically taught me how to use shredders and would love the same on ropes, if I haven’t somehow overlooked one. Every time I fire a rope, I’m out of range or it easily breaks or similar; it seems pointless so I must be doing it wrong!
Thank you! Glad you’ve been finding my content helpful 😄 I don’t have a ropecaster master class yet, but it’s on my list! I did cover some tips on how to use ropecasters in my hidden combat mechanics and advanced combat tips and tricks videos though. You need to draw them a bit first before firing. Tap firing won’t allow ropes to penetrate armor plates.
The first time I played this game, I was very stubborn with not switching up weapons and getting to learn them, especially shredders! I stopped doing that this play through and I’m actually doing wAy more damage and faster kills than before lol
Hope you found it helpful! Yeah, it is not as easy as I make it look. I can only do those challenges that easily now because I have spend dozens of frustrating hours figuring it how to beat the Arena. It’s totally a grind.
arena costing shards was a mistake. i'm fine with banging my head against a challenge if it doesn't burn all my money or force me to circumvent it via saving...
Getting some practice in for Burning Shores. Wow smoke bombs are useful. I never used them once in the game. So glad I left the Arena un-touched. This has worked out well for practice. It is different but if anything, harder eh?
Thanks for the tips. I'll definently be using smoke bombs to set traps. Its funny i rarely use traps in my regular story/side quest play but here it seems big help. I also don't use much ropecaster so... Gotta try on average difficulty first.
Where was gondor when westfold fell? Just kidding I needed this video when I was grinding in arena and losing my metal shards. Fortunately I used to manual save option for unlimited tries and cleared it in normal mode.. Great video, keep it up man..
From the deep it is easier to wait until all 3 are near eachother then trigger the valor surge. This will put all 3 really low health then lob a spike at each of the snapmaws killing each of them in 1 hit. Then just concentrate on killing the tideripper.
Yup that's a great way to do it now. Back when I made this video, the valor surges did not start charged at the start of a challenge. They changed that in a later patch.
Guerilla should make your videos the official tutorial for their game at this point 🎉👏🏻
Lol thanks K 😄 That would be the coolest!

Awesome! Yes they are very challenging. Glad to hear this helped a bit!
How are you able to win in the time limit? I keep failing because i run out of time. I'm not sure it's even worth doing these on a hard difficulty just to reap the rewards.
Thank you for this 😭 I was struggling with beating most of these within the time limit, was able to do most in one try after watching ✌️
Oh cool! 😄
Thank you as always for these incredible guides. Especially helpful for From The Deep which feels like far and away the most difficult.
You’re very welcome! Yes, From The Deep is definitely tough. I hope these tips help!
Hey thanks! Glad you found this helpful 😁
Your vids are so dope. The attention to detail, organization, and care is so accessible for viewers. I always look forward to your content!
Hey thanks! Glad you’re enjoying my content 😄 I do put a lot of work into my videos. Thanks for your comment! 🙏👍
Epic. Arena definitely seems like a puzzle to figure out. Great to see how you solved it.
Thanks! It is. I certainly took inspiration from others like Wallison Paulino and MrFancyPants.
Nice strats! I’ll have to try what you described for From The Deep. I don’t think I’ve done that before.
You are probably still better than me at the game ;)
I'm looking forward to seeing your insane arena challenge times play out!
I will definitely be taking notes c:
Thanks Phos! And you are not late :) Glad you liked this. Yes, I’ll definitely be posting those top 10 finishes!
Thanks! Glad to hear you find my content helpful 😄 I hope you’re enjoying Forbidden West, and can now Craig the Arena 👊👍
Thanks so much for this video! Using the apex predators strat u said made me win it first try!
Awesome! Nice work 👍🏼😁 Glad you found this helpful!
Thank you!!! This is an incredible video, put together really well and amazing effort as always!
Hey thanks! Glad you think this video is well done 😄 I hope the tips help!
Thanks bro help me overcome most of these challenges on ultra hard. 👊🏻
Awesome! Good work 🤜🏼🤛🏼 Glad you found this helpful!
I am late to this party but i wanted to say thank you for your hard work. I have learned so much from your videos. I also want to thank the people that you thank in your videos that help assist you. This is the most fun game I've ever played and i absolutely am in love with it.
Hey thanks JReid! Glad to hear you've found my videos helpful and are enjoying the game so much! 😁
Thx for the tips, I am now nuber 36 in the tideripper chalange because your video
Awesome! Good work!
Just when i thought you cant outdo your last video. You just keep getting better man! I must say i dont leave comments coz its time consuming but i just want appreciate your dedication on your vids. Keep it up :)
Hey thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed this 😄 And I appreciate your comment an support 🙏
Why did I do these yesterday damnit! It frustrated me so much and now this video is here😭😭.
Great video though, I'll use this in NG+
Ah sorry! Glad you liked it though 😄 And hopefully it helps in NG+!
This is impressive man! I am frustrated enough to fight them on my own, I needed this 😂
Nice vid man thx for the tips
And here are my recommended weapons
Sun scourge
Sky killer
Relentless bolt blaster
Lightning h. Bow
Elite rope caster
Regalla’s wrath/delta S bow
Thanks! And good recommendations for sure! I was trying to keep it to purchasable items, but I totally agree those are great recommendations if you can get them.
With this tutorial the boss levels are the easiest part of the whole Arena, never could have beaten them without it
Awesome! Glad to hear you found this helpful 🙂
I have been waiting for this so long, thank you.
Awesome! Hope you find these tips helpful!
Thank you for this video man! That last thunderjaw is soo annoying tho. I get to the point where i place 2 elite acid traps after i have shot his blaze canisters. Then he just charges me and i die over and over again. Can’t seem to dodge in time :(
man your tutorials have helped me so much, thanks a lot!!
You're very welcome! Glad to hear you've found them helpful!
dude. YOU are a machine! this was awesome to watch. i definitely picked up some great techniques.
Finished all of them (on normal) using your techniques. Thanks for posting.
bro this is like preparing for a raid in wow god damn very nice video appreciate the effort i downloaded it as soon as it came out for pc
WoW crazy strategies!
I did it on very hard and barely make it ( on the first and last challenges I did it with 1 second spare)
Thanks! And nice job beating it on your own!
Thanks for your help ,I just got to rematch, and your video was so helpful
..your a master at this...
Haha thanks! Glad you found this helpful!
You are so the man. Just the video I've been hoping for.
Awesome! Glad you liked this 😄 Hope you find the tips helpful!
Well done sir, these are a masterclass for the arena. Thank you so much!!!
Hey thanks! Glad you found this helpful!
The first time I played this game, I was very stubborn with not switching up weapons and getting to learn them, especially shredders! I stopped doing that this play through and I’m actually doing wAy more damage and faster kills than before lol
Awesome! Glad you're having fun trying out some new weapons and tactics! Hope you found this video helpful 👍
@@ArktixOfficial I did! Thank you
Great!
@@ArktixOfficial look in the comments… you have a scammer
@@Uneke Thank you! I have blocked them 👍 They've been trolling me lately 🙄
My first playthrough i havent even tried the arena, this time though, ill give it a shot. Mahalo for this!
No problem! Yeah give it a shot! Hopefully you find these tips helpful 👍
I’m going to be honest I did the non honorable thing my first play through so this will help a lot on my new game+
I’m sure this isn’t as easy as it’s made to look. A good understanding of what to do seems best, for that this video does well.
Hope you found it helpful! Yeah, it is not as easy as I make it look. I can only do those challenges that easily now because I have spend dozens of frustrating hours figuring it how to beat the Arena. It’s totally a grind.
@@ArktixOfficial I think it’s best I do as much of the game and upgrading as possible before attempting.
Yes definitely
arena costing shards was a mistake. i'm fine with banging my head against a challenge if it doesn't burn all my money or force me to circumvent it via saving...
Getting some practice in for Burning Shores.
Wow smoke bombs are useful. I never used them once in the game.
So glad I left the Arena un-touched. This has worked out well for practice. It is different but if anything, harder eh?
Nice! Yeah smoke bombs are really handy!
Very useful video!
Thanks! Glad you found this useful 😄
Lol thanks! Sorry I didn’t have it done earlier. Hope it helps if you do NG+ Ultra Hard or something!
I was going to mention to you to make this guess I don’t have to now. Thanks appreciate the vid.
Awesome! You’re very welcome 👍 I hope you find it helpful! 😄
You had help me a lot bro!!. On every video of horizon!!. Thank you so mucho.
You're very welcome! Glad you find my content helpful 😄
Thanks! Appreciate the amazing effort that went into this.
Hey thanks so much! 🥳 Glad you found this helpful 😄 I really appreciate your support! 🙏🤜🤛
I got my Nora armor! Thanks for the tutorial.
Awesome! Good work 👍 Glad you found this helpful!
Ayyyyy thank you so much for the tips !!
No problem 😄 I hope you find them helpful!
Dude thank you for making this tutorial you have saved me from destroying my disc
Lol 😂 Glad you found this helpful!
Thank you, this makes them a lot easier!!
Awesome! Glad to hear that 😄
