Excuse me for my ignorance, but i was wondering if there are any problems in sterilizing media and tools with UVGI light or if it's just impratical.

Do the paper towels need to be autoclaved or anything? Wouldn't they bring in contamination otherwise?

You can always autoclave the paper towels to be extra safe. However, it's not necessary as long as you use enough alcohol.
