    Cashless society is terrifying. Imagine we lose power on a global scale and can't pay for or access anything. Or another example, helping out a friend or homeless with a few bucks, will become essentially impossible (unless cashapp,etc) "You will own nothing, and be happy"
    Edit: Cash is also essentially valueless, after FDR removed the Gold Standard and implemented cash. Each dollar you get is pretty much a placeholder for gold and silver, this is why the US is in so much debt bc we print money with nothing to back it up. Now think of that, but nothing is physical, you actually own nothing, not even a placeholder. Just imaginary money.
    Edit Edit: Thank you everyone for the likes, I'm shocked this many ppl realize what's actually going on. Also, I really wanna reply to everyone bc this is a conversation I am very passionate about but I can't see everyone's response. Whether you agree or disagree, I pray you all get everything you need and wish for in life 🙏 ❤️. This money system sucks either way.

      In Star Trek it is a very important part of the lore that by the 22nd century the entire planet eradicates the need for money, they eradicate war and world hunger, in a cashless society people would begin to stop hoarding, mfs wouldn’t be going to the store buying everything so others couldn’t have it, whatever anyone needs they would be able to get as far as food and basic needs like toilet paper and tampons no one should have to pay for food or tampons
      That’s how people suffer becuase here in America you do not get payed enough to support yourself people go homeless and it’s because of the greed man has
      Take away money he can’t be greedy and people can begin to stop hurting
      I for one believe cryptocurrency is going to be the gateway solution to getting rid of money, in America they got rid of the gold standard so money is literally worth whatever rich bankers say it is

      ? You don’t understand korean economics at all. 50k sounds a lot but not when the scale is 1k, 10k, 20k, 50k, its like only having $1, $10, $20, and $50 bills. Which is fine. The 50k in korea is not actually worth 50k, its worth as much is it is here as 50 dollars and in korea nobody sweats it. The 3 zeros at the end are meaningless and you cant apply the same logic to won as you do usd because in the us there are actually $1 and $1000, but in korea the $1 is W1,000. There is not really a W1 option in korea except like, the coins maybe.
      So, technically, the Korean dollar bill / won is worth nearly as much as the USD bill (lately it has hit a low because of the global economic state)
      The reason for this is simple, the Korean won is old and the denominations are just bigger, but it does not change its value and it is not a product of inflation. To change the W1,000 which many people equal to $1 to say “W1” than “W1,000” would be a completely aesthetic and cosmetic change therefore it hasnt happened.
      So, the korean economy is not horrendous. USD is also just extremely strong and valuable, koreas currency is relatively good but no country is going to come out on top when their currency is put next to USD.

    • @Xxyurimxx
      @Xxyurimxx Рік тому

      Also, after the Korean war, Korea was virtually ruined on all ends however they quickly became one of the worlds fastest growing economies and went from a previously dominated country by its neighbors getting shit on to a democratic developed nation. As for where it stands today, the currency system has faired very well, no one uses a singular won so Korea is not shitcans and poor people, just think of the 1,000 won as koreas $1. No one in korea would ever consider 1,000 won valuable either even if it sounds like a lot to you americans

    • @Bothan0923

      @@Xxyurimxx how I think about it, if we didn’t have cents, then a dollar US would really be 100, $20 is 2000, and a $100 bill would be 10000, so in reality it’s not that terrible.
