Great video as always. One slight correction, the messages on screen are the wrong way around. The grid uses AC. It is converted to DC for the interconnector and back to AC on the other side!

At 750 MW, and with a record system demand yesterday of 7,438 MW, it's already undersized.
      Great drone footage, as always.

Glad the corrections viz the AC/DC were made, but they need to be corrected on the video, as for the importing and exporting, I strongly suspect that we'll be importing excellent French nuclear power at the highest rate that we can. Which will allow the anti nuclear idiots to continue to claim that this country is nuclear free!!!!

Yeah that is a certainty, but majority of our energy is currently imported anyway, oil gas etc. Though if those planned offshore wind farms go ahead that will change things significantly. But we'll be lucky if even one gets built in the next decade, every single one that got planning permission is tied up in the courts with judicial reviews, in fact nearly every wind farm that got planning permission in the last year is, and the changes to the planning system won't do near enough to fix this, watered down by politicians due to "local concern".

Is this so Ireland can pretend the net zero (con) is being met.

Provide evidence to your claim or else it's naught but nonsense.

My understanding was that France gets its electricity entirely from nuclear, so technically the power is zero carbon omissions

It's a two way interconnector. Wind power that'd have to be refused otherwise, can be exported to France
