My b20v is supposed to be 12.1 comp, I did a comp test and it seems a bit low for 12.1. I got 220 on my compression test is that too low or good for a 12.1 buid
Thank you for these videos man! I’ve been really debating on whether I wanna go b20b or b18c1. Id either go b20b and use the extra money to set up the ek coupe for track or go b18c1 and take longer lol. What would you suggest? I was thinking b20b for that extra low end torque
Hi i just bought a fully built b16 head from a close friend im talking 1500 between machine shop ferrea springs and retainer Ferrea valves Skunk 2 tuner 2 cams Arp head studs Lsvtec kit Type r intake manifold Aem cam gears ext ext. Im doing all motor b20v but my only concern is that i already have a low compression b20b on my teggy i know i can raise the comp by doing pistons but i dont want to do all that right now so should i slap the head just like that or should i wait and buy a high compression b20? Help! Please! Need the feedback also in case your wondering im using my gsr trans already on car,thx
Got my b20b from a honda shop and was imported from a orthia in japan. Was told the engine never been taken apart. My head is a 2000 year stamped p75 and the block has has a knock sensor with the p3f stamp but I looked down the spark plug hole and saw my pistons were phks. So not sure if japan used the old block to make it but mines a 9.6:1 high comp.
This is my exact issue bro!! Been looking everywhere, cant find any knowledge on it, i also have a high comp b20b APPARENTLY, but block says p3f and has a knock sensor, has p75-8 head
@Rauel Ramos yeah bro basically you can't just go off the stamps on the block if it's jdm. If you have a 99-01 head with phk stamped piston heads then you got a 9.6 comp. Take the head off to look at the pistons or use a camera down the spark hole.
I’m super confused I have a jdm b20b with a p75-11 head no knock sensor. Can’t find anything about this configuration, I was told it was high comp but I didnt know how to identify it at the time. Also I was told it was out of a jdm integra?? I’d really like to know what my engine came out of! engines been in my crv for 2 years now with b20z intake manifold and It’s good just don’t know what I have
I have a 2001 b20b that came with a high rise intake and knock sensor. It says p3f on the block. Is it high compression? I heard they have to come with a low rise intake and say phk? Which one would mine be?
I just bought a B20B too that suppose to be High Compression. Mine also says P3F in the back near the bell housing....but I do have knock sensor and the date codes on the head 0/0 seems to say it's a 2000 engine. I'm guessing Honda just used P3F blocks but put high compression piston into those.
sup man, recently blown my b18b1 engine lol :( I'm debating between low comp and high comp. Which would be a good daily with boltons? And maybe boost in the future?
Dubs All Day I’m in vegas too and I’m trying to figure out where to the b20 high compression for $450? I found a spot selling the high compression for $550 here
@@noahhowellstone1264 Nice! Remember to change out that T-Belt, old rubber is known to snap as I've had it happen on an imported JDM 3SFE. Don't think it gets any lower than 4, I'm happy with it👍
If you are looking to build b20v all motor. Go with B20b. If you are looking to build a 250-300hp turbo b20 go with b20z.. but only differences is piston comp. and even that it’s only 5-10hp. Not a lot, and if you are replacing pistons block won’t matter.. moral of story. Go with a JDM B20B and you’ll be set.
I saw the na video where you say it’s a waste of money to go b20 non vtec, but hear me out. I have a ls vtec integra rn, i wanna get a jdm b20b for it. I also wanna get a hatchback and transfer my lsvtec engine into that. Don’t clown me.
dee smith well if OH has the same Honda scene as WV then engines are few and far between so you may get stuck with having to order one online. I always get my engines from the FB groups but I also tend to usually buy pieces because everything I get I rebuild and it’s generally a lot more cost effective (and safe) to buy that way. Generally speaking if your getting a healthy long block for anything around 500$ it’s a good deal
B20's are a bad block not safe for boosted, not safe for high rpms..most Machine shops don't even like sleeving them because 1. The bore size is already big at 84.. 84.5 .. alot of companies like darton will say no grantees on b20 sleeves because fitment could be lose.. best block for boost, strong factor sleeves or worth sleeving is a b18 for sure..

glad to hear :)
I’m looking to swap a b18b1 in my eg civic with a crv trans with awd conversion should I follow through with it or stick with the b20b out of the crv?

Really good video brother. Would you give me some guidance on what do i need to swap a b20z2 to a b20b. B20z2 is going bad.
Buying a b20 Monday and I want the phk so behind the block it should say phk and what head do the phks bring
I recently bought a project Integra that's supposed to have a b20b with a p75 head and a gsr trans how do I identify this stuff

Roice Natividad really jus depends on how patient you feel you are. The b20 isn’t a bad base to start from and vtec can always be added later

Question: I want to turbo my stock b20 from the 1st gen CRV. Would I have to get lower compression pistons or will it not grenade my engine?
pooploser524 ua-cam.com/video/O1i4ZG2tuv0/v-deo.html

Any 99+ built jdm's were all high comp., For example; the 0/0 mentioned in the replies meaning 2000 so just check below valve cover for date code.
