no sadly not. About 2 weeks after it was stolen it was parked in front of someones house. The owner of the house called the police. Police ran the license plate and saw it was reported as stolen. When I went to meet the police to grab the car, the inside was completely trashed. Both airbags deployed and they ripped out my stereo and just left it on the floor. currently have a friend who said he will sell me his b series manual transmission and mounts for $80. So I'm contemplating going b20vtec in my civic ek. Aiming for 200 HP NA after rebuild, mods, and tune.
Dont expect alot out of a b20 or ls without AT LEAST stage 2 cams. LS or b20 is a GREAT way to learn. You touched on alot, good shit P30 slug is weapon of choice for an ls, ycp for b20. Stage 1 or stage two cam. Stage 1 if you're new to this. Only a few companies make these, and not all stage 2 play nice with stock fuel pressure. The reason you dont see alot of itr slugs in ls blocks is bc you have to modify pr4 rods to accept itr slugs. Stock fuel cut on b1 is 7200. Theres enough fuel to turn 7200. Wouldn't worry about it on b1 or b20.
As much as I absolutely love all motor NA builds, and as much as I want that B16A EF hatchback, deep down I know... the answer to all questions is 400whp Vitara build. It is just the simplest and cheapest build to do. Shit even stock pushing 170-200whp on 8psi is preferable to spending $3k on a built NA engine that barely touches 200. It really sucks because I would love a nasty all motor build but its just stupid expensive. I think the only all motor builds that are worth it are K series.
the numbers may seem low, but honda hp is better than others. idk why, but other makes can't compete. 110 honda hp is like 250 bmw hp. race them, and find out
It’s a lot of work to make decent power on the stock motor without changing internals. Even if you rebuild the motor, the gains aren’t that great. I rebuilt this setup in my garage. Pr3 pistons 11.6:1 compression, ported head on a b18c, skunk 2 ultra street, 74mm throttle body, aem infinity and e85 netted 190 to the wheels tuned by PFI speed. Disappointed with the output so building a turbo kit for it. Ordered a precision 5858 since the motor is rebuilt with better pistons, rods and engine management, I think it’ll be a quick spoiling snappy setup for the street. Tired of dicking around for minimal gains. Just going boost now and calling it a day. If I had to advise others on it, just go boost. The time and labor for that minimal of a gain just isn’t worth it in my opinion. And I did the work myself so I didn’t pay for labor and still feel that way. Unless you can do the work yourself, it ain’t cheap cause labor is expensive these days. Parts may be cheap but everyone forgets to factor in labor costs.
Indeed. This channel is based on showing you what you can do yourself and just about everything outside of K is a waste of time NA which is why I’ve always boosted everything.
VHB Engines love the channel. Keep grinding. I love the fact that you’re trying to make it. Most have shops already and just do things to promote the business but you’re sharing the entire journey to getting there which I appreciate and probably the most overlooked aspect of your channel. It’s tough juggling family, work and future goals but keep at it. You’re sharing more than just car knowledge. You’re showing the process. The so called grind.
VHB Engines You and a few other channels motivated me to do a build. I had an built turbo integra back in 98. Engine was built by JG engine dynamics and turbo was built by Myles Bautista from Rev Hard. Car got stolen and I was gutted. 20 years later, I see your videos along with a few other you tubers. It motivated me to go back and complete the story that I never got to finish. So I went and bought a chassis and basically rebuilt it from the ground up. I’m still working on completing it but now I get to finish the story on my own terms. So whether you know it or not, you just grinding at it day in and out does have a positive effect whether you know it or not. ua-cam.com/video/lMdxZWjTfXs/v-deo.html
I have a 1999 honda crv. It has an automatic transmission. I'm new to Honda I was told that that ecu can't be tuned. I put a high compression b20b from Japan about 2 or 3 years ago and it needs an overhaul. It smoked really bad and is down on power.
I wanna put some higher compression pistons in it and some h beam rods. And some cams. I just want it to be reliable and make a little more power. Any suggestions on brands and products. I'm thinking 180 to 200 hp as a hopeful thought.
I got a high comp b20/ b16 trans with 340 pump 280 cc injectors with just an intake.. Soon i want a bigger tb, intake mani an fuel rail an fpr.. I wana see at least 160 without internal work
Don't know if those pistons will be enough for 160+. Prolly do 150 though... Don't go any bigger than ITR size throttle body if on the street Intake manifold will shift the power band up I wouldn't change the fpr until cams. The stock fuel pressure is basically peaked with those LS cams
There seems to be a lot of misinformation around integrity of b20 rod bolts. Do you have your opinion of that subject on another video? I see guys claiming they must be changed or face death then I see guys beating the shit out of their b20s 7k all day on stock bolts.
Bro, I really hope you can help me. I have a b20b non v. What's the story with vtec conversion, could you please do a video on that. Sleeves what's the story with that.

Also have the most topic relevant videos separated into playlists. Go through the b series playlist and I’m sure you’ll find what you need
Should be able to get back to ya shortly on the build ur talkin about. Had a b18b that was 10.8:1 (oem p30 pistons and bc0022 cam) which blew the head gasket after 100k of daily drivin. Ended up gettin a b20 and rebuildin it with a custom piston and p8r head which should end up round 12:1 and yea, got pricey quick doin it properly. My b20s at 186 with just bolt ons and e85 so shootin for over 200 should be an easily attainable goal
D SiLvER yeah I’ve seen you talk about it. Cranking out a 11:1 ycp high comp block for someone this weekend that’ll run on pump. Your in south Florida right? Who tuned the b20? Those are pretty fuckin impressive numbers
Yea, im in miami... pretty sure i bought some parts off ya a couple yrs back thru SFL honda before the channel if im not mistaken... the tune was javi from javituned but def has something to do with the condition of the motor, jdm high comp ended up being 850 to my door but was minty mint mint. Also the way my mechanic degreed the cams and having had ported & polished the manifold on my previous build, that swapped over and helped. Was high 160s before the e85 so on par with healthy motors... always end up at ur videos wen i look up shit related to my car so 👍👍
I haveva pretty crazy b20vtec stock sleeve 84.5 13:1 cnc head pro 2 cams big bolt on and its on pump gas 250 whp is achievable but the build will cost 10 gs or more and thats with already having the car thats already b swapped na power is expensive alot of people use the right parts but dont get there heads properly portrd you can have all the compression you want but if it cant breath it wont make those numbers everyone looking fir

without diggin into the block and swapping for a set of higher compression pistons good luck on that last jump from 175 to 200. and what it would cost to do this is pretty significant vs just goin vtec. is what it is
Ben Buda now list the price of those cams, the valve train, and the head work. You really ready to spend 1500$ for 200whp or 300$ for a gsr or b16 head? 🤔 It’s not weather it can be done it’s about cost effectiveness and this guy I was talking about CLEARLY did not wanna spend money. But as per the norm when ppl jump to correct me they miss the point 😁
