This record walked so Turnstile's GLOW ON could run. Mad respect for people from the Hardcore scene who aren't afraid to take risks and put artistry first.
It was several months ago I discovered this album, I always knew them for their more hardcore albums, but RARE is an absolute masterpiece and a step away from their old sound, that I love it so much
This album feels like a late night drive at 1 am, where you feel almost exhausted to the point of giving up, and then letting the feeling wash over you as you feel whole again.
I always play hundredth for my mom and I do it on purpose cause she doesn't like the screaming and she says their music is crazy and I just laugh cause it annoys her and when I heard this song, I loved it so much and I was like "Mom guess what? Hundredth made a new song and the singer isn't screaming anymore!" So she immediately asked to hear it and once she heard it, she said "This song sounds crazy still, I don't like it." So there you go guys... my mom still thinks hundredth is crazy even though they changed their sound so it's all good guys 💁🏻
So I’m a hardcore kid and loved old hundredth so naturally I didn’t care for this sound but after falling in love with turnover I have a new appreciation to try this again.
This is 100% Hundredth and I love it. This is the direction they wanted to take and the music is still very good so dont bitch about it because if those are your two main arguments, they're flawed.
idk what genre of music this is (please do tell if u know) but i love it so much. It reminds me of times when me and my family went home late at night, either from traveling or from friends who lived a bit far away, driving for hours and me just sitting in the back seat and listening to either music from the radio or with headphones and looking outside or closing my eyes and feeling the wind coming from the little opening from the front seat window my parent opened to smoke, this whole song feels like that and whenever i come home late at night i will definetely listen to this song, or when i wanna have that kind of a nostalgic feeling.
artists don't owe fans a goddamn thing when it comes to their artistic decisions. they aren't betraying anyone by changing their sound. they are putting out the art into the world that THEY want to. this is hundredth because they chose to write and produce this art. you can either listen to it, or not. that's your choice. you don't have to like some art. that's fair. but let's respect artistic decisions and appreciate what we personally enjoy.
the band builds their band through the art they choose to make. a label signs on because they believe in the art they're creating, as do the fans in terms of buying their merch and music. that being said, the artist still owes absolutely nothing to the band. if the listener doesn't like what the band is putting out, that's perfectly okay. no one is demanding their support. an artist only asks for the support of those who believe in their art at the given moment from those who believe in what they're creating.
Jason Cox I see where you are coming from and I disagree. a label signs artist to make money. the band signs to make money on top of making music. that's just how the music industry works. Hundredth gave in to the label and produced this kitty bullshit music that bands on kid award shows play. Hundredth had so much potential. their last 3 albums where solid. Even in Free, they changed the delivery, but it was headbangingly good.
hahaha okay this is the most ridiculous thing i've seen in a while. hopeless didn't force them to do shit. yes, a lot of labels (usually majors) tweak an artist's sound. but hopeless is an indie, they're not pulling strings behind the scenes. hundredth obviously wanted to make this. also, this is way more in the vein of title fight, balance and composure, and citizen. not sure what's so bad about that. your taste in hardcore isn't objectively better than anyone else's.
I actually really like this, I mean I wasn't massively into the band before, more of a casual listener, but this might change that. Like others have said it sounds a bit like B&C, Title Fight or Basement and I think that actually suits them pretty well - at least on this track.
I kinda only dig this Hundredth. I wasn't crazy about them before, as most hardcore music sounds quite similar. This record has been a real treat though. Good for you guys playing music you truly wanna play. This shit is awesome.
Got into these guys recently and checked out their old stuff. This is so much better and more original. Hope they keep going like this. This album is one of those albums that doesn't have a bad song. It all flows so well together. The last album I can credit that did that for me was System of a Down back in middle school.
This song is so damn good. It just gets into your bones and makes you want to move, tap your foot, bob your head... you can't sit still listening to this track. Or at least, I can't.
i know this is different and even Ill admit that i liked the sound of Dead Weight / Victim more, but this is still pretty dope. They said themselves they were changing and i cant wait to hear the new album. Respect the fact that they are artists trying to create something original and awesome and thats exactly what this is, original and awesome
I actually like it a lot, I've followed their earlier material and although i enjoyed it, it always seemed to me like a stock post-hardcore to be frank. But this is some really emotional and grown-up stuff imo.
This bands music has evolved so much over the years, and for the better. Chadwick is a genius musically as well as super business savvy. Great people, great band, great music.
Man, old hundredth was so energetic and heavy it'd put your ass to sleep. But with this new stuff, I mean it REALLY puts you to sleep. In a different way. Like pink floyd levels of snooze.
RARE has a unique sound and I've yet to find an album similar to it, it's such a masterpiece. I'd kill for more songs like Neurotic, Vertigo, Down, Shy Vein...
More than pleasantly surprised by their new sound! Listened to their new songs on repeat all day during work today. I dig it even more than their old sound.
This is so much better than anything they've released and I don't mean it in a bad way because I love Hundredth to the moon and back. I even have some of their lyrics tattooed on me! I can't wait for this album
Definitely wasn't expecting this. Really liking the new sound. Similar to the No Devotion album which I love. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the album. Hats off to the band for trying something different.
Just discovered this album today on Spotify and it destroyed my head! Great change of style, reminded me to Whirr a lot, spacey heavy smashing sound!!!
200 downvotes is lame. If you think a band should just keep producing music to stick to a genre and fit in you're mistaken. Many bands do that to keep fans but if fans are loyal and open-minded they'll stick around. You never want to feel like you're repeating yourself when creating music, and if you do you're probably doing music for the wrong reasons. That being said I'm glad they changed things up it sounds great. I'll always love the hardcore side of them but they are just so talented they could probably do other styles and still Rock.
I've been waiting for a band I genuinely like to change their sound. Idk how I feel, I genuinely loved the old sound. Hoping there's a mixture of genres on the album to creative an even more intriguing band.
Man I'm a HUGE fan of the genre's shoegaze & dreampop. I couldn't be more of a fan of this song. Great fucking mix Hundredth, keep up with the new sound. It rips just the same but hits differently. HAZY HUNDREDTH 4EVER!
It's an ok song. It's hard to go wrong in this clean-easy-simple-style but I really hope this is an isolated track and the other ones sounds a little bit more like yourselves. Love you guys.
This sounds like a mix of 80's, 90's songs... But with something you've never heard of and love as soon as you hear it, lol. That's what happened to me. :D
I love Hundredth. While I like this and am not entirely loving it I still love the Dead Weight side of Hundredth more. interested to hear rest of new album. Probably still gonna buy
I must have listened to this song 10,000 times. It never gets old.
Same here. It's such an epic song and I'm so glad Spotify recommended this
Wasn't a fan of this band until RARE. Absolutely love this sound.
was a fan of this band until RARE. ahahah
I like the old phase too, RARE is absolutely great and the newest album is shiiiiiit haha
Then you like dream pop check out bands such as diiv, beach fossils, launder, tennis system
This record walked so Turnstile's GLOW ON could run. Mad respect for people from the Hardcore scene who aren't afraid to take risks and put artistry first.
What about hyperview
@@devon9249 you got a good point tho, I should burn my Title Fight shirt in shame
@@mr_fukur0944 also that band hundredth
@@devon9249 lmao, was literally listening to TF's record when I replied bahaha. Touche
Title fight, turnover and hundredth walked so turnstile could run imo
This is the type of music that makes you miss someone you haven't even met yet.... and I'm ok with that.
like saving their life! like a fucking badass!!!
Second time I’ve seen this comment...the other on an Ariel pink track. Hoping it’s a sign a lonely gazer finds that person
This is the type of song that makes you hate someone you haven’t met yet... and that person is yourself. Im ok with that.
Brynne.
Can someone recomend me other bands that sounds like this song? I can tell you one: Ease from Whirr.
I swear sometimes I feel like I live under a rock hidden from all the things I’d love. New fan, Sept 3, 2024
It was several months ago I discovered this album, I always knew them for their more hardcore albums, but RARE is an absolute masterpiece and a step away from their old sound, that I love it so much
try band ' go with strangers ' .. ..
@@272needler holy crap, perfect suggestion! Thanks! Sounds really good
This album feels like a late night drive at 1 am, where you feel almost exhausted to the point of giving up, and then letting the feeling wash over you as you feel whole again.
Nailed it. Missing people we never met
love their old stuff. love their new stuff. create what you feel
I always play hundredth for my mom and I do it on purpose cause she doesn't like the screaming and she says their music is crazy and I just laugh cause it annoys her and when I heard this song, I loved it so much and I was like "Mom guess what? So there you go guys... my mom still thinks hundredth is crazy even though they changed their sound so it's all good guys 💁🏻
Yea of course
But can she cook?
I'm really glad I found you guys, this is the kind of music that makes me fly without any substance.
this album is a masterpiece.
This band is so good and has seriously climbed up my radar this year. It’s probably because I love Citizen, The Cure, Brand New and Silversun Pickups
So I’m a hardcore kid and loved old hundredth so naturally I didn’t care for this sound but after falling in love with turnover I have a new appreciation to try this again.
the video editing is pretty amazeballs.
This is 100% Hundredth and I love it. This is the direction they wanted to take and the music is still very good so dont bitch about it because if those are your two main arguments, they're flawed.
I've been living under a rock apparently but I'm awoken from my slumber. Had no idea they went in this direction but damn this is so good.
What a powerful sedated sound, it’s like ripping my brain in two. Love it
I was so indifferent about this album when it came out. A handful of mushrooms later and it’s my favorite album.
The Ultrarare version of the album is a nice listen when you're cooked too 👍
Grunge starter kit:
> write accessible grungey/shoegaze songs
> make sure youth is in a song or album title

it's shoegaze. this album is great. also check out chrome neon jesus by teenage wrist
I wasn't expecting this shoegazey sound. What a pleasant surprise.
its actually really cool and i'm excited for the new album (i've never really cared for this band before this track).
Matheus if I hear the word "shoegaze" improperly used in this scene one more time, it will be too late
Matheus not shoegaze at all.
Genericusername thank you!
Alright genre nazi's, new hundredth sounds shoegazey. Get over it.

Absolutely amazing!! Love the vibes I get from the visuals and music. New favorite song from the boys thus far!!

best track from the album

You may enjoy "Elama on Tulta" by Ghost Brigade - you're right though, nothing quite like this album's sound.
amazing, one of the best music direction switches i've ever heard. happy for this guys
More than pleasantly surprised by their new sound! Listened to their new songs on repeat all day during work today. I dig it even more than their old sound.
I really fell in love with this album and this band
I'm obsessed
This is amazing 💞
Wish i heard of this band before 😤
As an ATLien, I love that they filmed this in Atlanta
Torn on the new sound. Love the old stuff, but change is good and I like this for what it is.
How dreamy. Like this new song. One of the few bands I like that step out of their comfort zones.
Fans loyal adalah fans yang bisa menerima perubahan . Good work guys !
This honestly has to be some of the most relaxing rock I've ever heard. Bravo!! Definitely a welcome change in sound imo!
Love 2:00 onwards. Sounds & feels like Hundredth on a cloud. That's really the only way I can describe their new sound lol.
This is so much better than anything they've released and I don't mean it in a bad way because I love Hundredth to the moon and back. I even have some of their lyrics tattooed on me! I can't wait for this album
Until you decompose
"Hundredth of Sharon". It sounds so TF...I love it, though!
i love them for taking the direction they feel they should, this song is fire
Saw them live In Singapore, this song sounded absolutely HUGE, literal wall of sound
To everyone who's interested in this genre, here are some bands to check. Nothing, Genghis Tron, Whirr, Ceremony, Turnover
i love this album so much and I'm so glad you wrote it the way you did
This song was my anthem during addiction. Sounded like light on some really dark days
I love it. One of my new favorite albums already.
I see no problem with the change in sound. Enjoying them even more now
wow this sound really good! I can't wait to hear the entire album
I am absolutely loving this. Even though it's a total change, I'm happy about it. To those who aren't happy with it, bands change so get over it.
still got mad love for this band!! I will expand my music taste just for them
Definitely wasn't expecting this. Really liking the new sound. Similar to the No Devotion album which I love. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the album. Hats off to the band for trying something different.
I wish they always sounded like this. So amazing.
Just discovered this album today on Spotify and it destroyed my head! Great change of style, reminded me to Whirr a lot, spacey heavy smashing sound!!!

cant wait for new album
I hate to call bands sellouts when they change their sound but like... the boot fits here.
I can hear the title fight influence! so dope
Whoa so different, but so good
if they are happy, i am happy. sounds good
Idrk what they sounded like before but I like what I'm listening to right now
This band did the genre hop thing the best out of any punk/hardcore band. And I dug the Shai Hulud sounding stuff too. But this so much better
Listens to Turnover & Balance and Composure once
lmao
Turnover! You are deaf AFFFF.
I was thinking more.. (Hyperview) Title Fight & Balance and Composure..
Gets an unannounced visit from Title Fight...
lol nt but this is very much titlefight/balancencomposure
I like this, it sounds good while still being dark
I love this change.
Iki pok jare band apik weeee,,,, jajal ooow tak rungok ke tekan rampung,,, nek apik yoo tak foloow sampean,,,
