Still producing the best solo boardgame content on UA-cam! It's a bear to learn, but I'd love to see your thoughts on Roots two clockwork expansions and whether you enjoy it enough to own simply as a solo game.
Thanks for the compliment! I've definitely thought about Root, but I've been intimidated so far. I'd like to tackle it. That is a very good idea. Thanks for supporting the channel!
@@TotallyTabled Best tips I've heard for solo specifically are to read the Law of Rootbotics incredibly literally (there should not be any interpretation required) and to start with the Mechanical Marquise (the Cats), as their gameplay is the simplest to pilot. I love Root in multiplayer and I'd love to play it solo as well, I just haven't had the time to dig in as much as I'd like. Maybe we can inspire each other to take that first step, haha.
Wow… I’m here to ask for something similar! I wanted to watch Shaggy/Shaggie play Root also. Thanks so much for your amazing videos- my new sub hobby is playing the games you’ve posted solo plays of! You rock! This video is one I was also hoping you would make. I’m new to EVERDELL. So I’m excited to actually play it now!!!
Thanks, Cathleen for those kind words! I'm so glad to hear you are enjoying my videos. I definitely recommend Everdell. Great game and the Mistwood expansion solo mode works wonderfully. As for Root, I'll put it on the list. But it is a very long list. :) Thanks for the comments!
Definitely Roots ! May I humbly suggest you play the Underground Duchy against the Mechanical Marquise ? I started with that setup and found it manageable... 😉 Good luck ! 👍💜🇫🇷
Wow, impressive. As you can see I did not mess with the stickers! :) I've had some traumatic stickering sessions and I'm not sure I can bring myself to doing it for this. I can't wait to try more of the expansions and play this with my oldest kid. I think he will like it. Thanks for watching!
I just bought Mistwood and played earlier today. I decided to watch your video to make sure i played correctly and i did. Yay! ;) You’ve got a new subscriber, i love your video. You explain very well, it’s well edited and easy to understand. Thank you for making this video! :)
Thanks so much for the sub! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. What did you think about the game? I personally really like the solo rules that Mistwood adds. I hope you have fun checking out the rest of the channel. Have a great day!
Hey, I really appreciate that. Thanks so much for the compliment! I hope you continue to enjoy the channel. Don't hesitate to let me know if there is a game you would be interested in seeing. Thanks again!
@@TotallyTabled as a cinematographer i really appreciate the way you shoot things and as an editor i love how you keep things going but still convey a sense of wonder or even an AP moment without the pause. great stuff, really,
@@TotallyTabled now, i really enjoy your taste in games. the only ones i can think of are , maybe, CO2 second chance or generation lux 2. other than that it'll be user content, like the great solo to tiny epic quest or cascadia or even hadrian's wall, by mark outten.
That means a lot Paulo, because I have no experience in either cinematography or editing and I'm really just winging it and experimenting with things as I learn. I'm happy to hear that it is working on some low level, at least in my own amateurish way. I do my best. Thanks so much for watching and supporting the channel!
I need to check out lux 2. I haven't really heard much about that one. And I like your idea about user made solo modes. That is a very interesting idea for a series of videos. I'll look into those that you mentioned. Thanks for tips!
Your dice rolls continue to amaze me. 😆 Thanks for the playthrough! I'm new to Everdell too and was looking to see how Nightweave worked a bit better (visual learner, so playthroughs make more sense to my brain then rulebooks sometimes). Now to figure out how to fit this monster on my table...
It is a big one. I barely could film just the base game. With the other expansions, it would not fit on my filming table. But I will say Nightweave is a fantastic solo mode. Thank you so much for watching, Morga!
I just got my Complete Collection sorted after it arrived a few days ago and here you are with an amazing playthrough of it. I learned and played my first game of Everdell ever yesterday using Nightweave and got trounced. Along with your play, I have a better idea of what I have to do and hope to be victorious next time! oh also at 50:55 i don't think you had to pass because your city was full since the wanderer takes up no space in your city :)
Thanks NeatoZen. Yeah, I completely missed that with the Wanderer. I'm glad you enjoyed the playthrough and good luck with your next play! Let us know how it goes.
Keep playin! First couple of games I played I got destroyed by Rugworth, especially the first couple of game with the Pearlbrook expansion. But you have to learn all the cards and combo's more to get better at the game. This game is one of my favorites, especially with the Spirecrest expansion.
I'm glad you found the channel Nick and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I hope you have as much fun with the rest of the channel. Thanks so much for watching!
I’ve got the Mistwood expansion arriving next week: I enjoy Everdell solo but I find that Rugwort takes the shine off my best combo moments, which makes it less satisfying. I’m really looking forward to playing against Nightweave: she looks like she more closely replicates a two player game. That meeple is massive though!
I'm confident you'll enjoy Nightweave way more, Emma. It turns Everdell into a great solo game, IMHO. I'd love to hear what you think about it once you table it. Thanks again!
You made one mistake. The wanderer you played around the end of the game does not take up a place in your city if I read the card correctly so when you passed in fall you actually only had 14 card in your city instead of 15. Loved the video! Mistwoods solo mode is way better I think. Will you also make a solo playthrough of Newleaf?
Yep, I missed that part of the Wanderer. Luckily I won anyway. I think the Mistwood solo mode is great. I might try to do a Newleaf playthrough, but not right away. I have a pile of games I want to show and my time has been a bit limited. Thanks for watching!
There was one other mistake too besides the wanderer and the night weave rule mistake. when you went to your inn and played the ranger it was from your hand. The card says discounted from meadow. But other than those mistakes it was really good playthrough very helpful
Thank you for showing off Nightweave expansion. This solo is soo much better than Rugwort. It simulates more of what real player does. Btw, Wanderer doesn’t take a spot in your city. You still had one more available spot in yours.
Thanks for watching. You are right, of course. I totally missed that about the wanderer. Always read the fine print. 🙂 And I agree with you about Nightweave. It plays really well.
Nice playthrough! I really like the way this solo mode works! I enjoy that kind of interaction of the AI. Do you know if the mistwood expansion is going to be on retail separately?
Thanks so much! I agree, the solo is really well done and very fun. I do believe Mistwood will be available at retail, but it might be early next year. Thanks for watching!
they finally fixed everdells solo mode.i havent played everdell since mistwood was announced on ks.because it always felt underwhelming, but this looks great, have to wait til retail release.
Just finished my second game on easy level, won 73 to 51 but I cheated a little: I did use 1 extra worker in spring... but I'll get better !!! 😊 enjoyed it thouroughly !!!

Why do you avoid the purple cards in our city? I always thought those were higher scoring cards from what I remember when playing the base game. (I haven't played Mistwood or Newleaf yet.)
Normally I would but Nightweave randomly got a special ability that meant she shared the base points of all purple cards I built that game. It forced me to focus on other cards. I discuss it during setup at the start of the video. Thanks for watching.
@@TotallyTabled Thank you for the clarification. I'm sorry I missed that in the beginning of the video - I must have been working and listening to the video at the same time. 😕

Just getting into the video but wanted to comment. Everdell was my first game in my slowly growing collection. I haven't gotten any of the expansions yet but, as a mainly solo player, it sounds like this might be the one for me. Have you played all the expansions solo and do you think one is better than the rest for solo play?

I'm an Everdell novice and was very late to the party. But I'm pretty sure they are all compatible with the solo mode. Sorry I can't be more help. Thanks for checking out the video, Divergirl!
