    I love the way you cut into multiple close ups in your videos. Makes for a very clear playthrough. Other playthroughs I’ve seen of this game have been quite difficult to discern the symbols and art. If I may ask, What cameras are you using? And how many cameras? Thanks!

    • @TotallyTabled
      @TotallyTabled  Рік тому +4

      Thanks so much for your kind words! The camera I'm using right now is a Canon R6 attached to an Atomos Ninja V for capture, monitoring and to prevent overheating. I only use the one camera mounted to a C-Stand over the table. I record in 4K and then edit on a 1080 timeline so I can create different zoom ins. I then separately record B-Roll and close ups of the cards. Everything is edited in free Divinci Resolve. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching, Boardgametherapist!

      @@TotallyTabled A couple of questions. Does the camera stop every 30 min or so (if so, what do you do about it?) and is the video recorded via Atomos Ninja? Sorry, I'm kinda clueless on tech stuff :P

    • @TotallyTabled
      @TotallyTabled  Рік тому +1

      @@jazunaplaysboardgames469 Yeah, I'm happy to help if I can. The specific camera I use, the Canon R6, does shut off after 30 minutes (or less) to prevent overheating when recording in camera. By recording into the Ninja, the camera no longer overheats and can record for any amount of time. I record into an AtomX ssd that is made to fit in the back of the Ninja. I can then easily plug it into my laptop to transfer the data. That is my method. There are cameras where this might not be necessary. Also, a lot of this is because I film 4K. That adds headaches. I'm not an expert and I've largely cobbled together things I already had with a few new things to make it work for me, so this might not be ideal for everyone. Hope that helps!

      @@TotallyTabled 1st play was a loss, too many mistakes, was also spending too much food on range. just finished a second play and got 'regular victory' with the 1unlock of the campaign. and felt like i accomplished much more. Really have to get the most value out of every card played. those '20 actions' get eaten up pretty quick. No automa or anything to worry about is a nice bonus. Theme is a bit vague but it's there. Could not have done it without your playthrough Shaggy!
      on a side note i've noticed i enjoy games more where i get value/combos out of each turn, verses upkeep/looking after bots. PS have you got anymore western kingdom games yet? Architects of the West Kingdom has a great twist on the worker placement mechanic, not sure i've seen in anything else.

    You never used your faction ability and that is five more disks onto your player board track plus gain more cards. True more cards means maybe dropping down due to playing them but that faction also gets to gain a resource which could help. The object of solo play is try not to hibernate since that costs two drops instead of the one for playing a card.

    Hi, I've been going through and watching a couple playthroughs of the games, and getting some myself. But is could see you use card covers, covers for the card board pieces in some games, and during the Robinson Crusoe game you also had the little "wooden" thing on the side to hold all the extra pieces and stuff, and was wondering where what all you use, or websites you use to get all the accessories for better keeping of the game. I know it may be different than what the channel is based around, but a video explaining that would be great, or a link to somewhere that explains it all would.be fantastic too. Thank you for your time! :D

    • @TotallyTabled
      @TotallyTabled  Рік тому +1

      I plan to make a video of the accessories I use, because I do get quite a few questions about that. Hopefully soon. The Robinson Crusoe stuff is from a decade ago and I don't remember where I got it. E-Raptor seems to make a similar insert. This one is fairly flimsy and I've only kept a few pieces of it, but they do look nice next to the board. The poker chips I use are Iron Clays from Roxley Games. I use silicon bowls from the Board Game Geek store. I also sometimes use Plano boxes and dollar tree containers to store bits for games. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

    Is there any 'you loose' element to this game? Like in Robinson Crusoe, for a timing challenge. This looks great but it comes across as beat your own score like. I like the card flip mechanic for alternatives and the location map idea. It's neat.

    • @TotallyTabled
      @TotallyTabled  Рік тому

      Yeah, it is just beat a score, but you can set up a score as a win/loss. This playthrough felt like a loss as I've scored over 100 in previous plays. I definitely find the card play satisfying. Thanks Steve!

    You are my favorite playthrough channel, handsdown. I was about to hijack another comment, but I'll just make my own. May I ask what lens you use? 20mm? I wanted to record a playthrough for Revive, as I'm currently enamored, but I'm not sure my 50mm could handle it even with a c stand. While I have you.. what's your lighting setup? I love using Davinci too. Cheers! - Mike

    • @TotallyTabled
      @TotallyTabled  Рік тому +1

      That is so nice of you to say. Thank you. I'm just using the R6 kit lens, a 24mm-105mm F4...So full frame sensor with 24mm lens can cover my 4 by 3 foot table really well. As for light, I have a motley assortment of cheap LED studio lights, like a couple Neewer flapjacks and things like that, very carefully positioned to avoid glare in my tiny room. Lately I've been using a Godox SL150 I got cheap, to add some overall illumination. I would love a lens that could get to f2 or f2.8, because lighting is tough at F4. Hope that helps, Mike!
