I'm only 35 and think this is the most beautiful love song ever!!! I could tell Leon was a Pisces. We have the same bday.. This song was meant for Edmund to sing. They have the best harmonies ever
This is a LOVELY song indeed, I hope Olympia gets justice someday for what happened to her. The whole family was attractive, especially Edmund!!!... Love Edmund's voice!!!!
Me too me too when I think about Olympia my heart aches and I'm so glad she had the courage to get out of there and still maintain herself. I am so proud of her and I'm so proud of the family for sticking together despite the legal issues the music issues and all those things that tend to separate people. The Sylvers are group that we must always cherish they are jewels in the music industry. I will always cherish them! R.I.P Edmund!
As a child my mom took us to Magic Mountain to our surprise the Sylvers were performing that night and it was free admission. At the time Boogie To The High School Dance was my favorite song. It was my first concert, I'm in my 50's now but I still talk about it to this day.
My mom got so sick of this cut. I played it over and over and over again for the first 6 months after it's release. I hadn't even bought it for this particular song, but once I heard it, it was a wrap. The background harmonies at (2:20) sent me reeling evertime I heard them at 9 years old . . . . . still do. Just a beautiful beautiful song.
Same here. I bought the Lp for the title track, which I'd heard in a record store. Once I heard this song it became the song I'd recognize The Sylvers for.
They had a helluva stage presence, the girls were gorgeous, the guys were handsome, they had tight, choreography, and they all could sing there asses off.I see no reason why they weren't every bit as big as huge as the Jackson 5
Actually, the Sylvers dropped their first LP in 1974. The Jackson 5 were winding down from being the hottest band in music. The Sylvers were on MGM and Capitol Records during which time they had hits when the Jacksons didn't and they were on all the same TV shows and had bigger hits than the Jacksons. But if you go look at the footage of both groups from those days, it becomes very apparent that Michael was the Star of The Jacksons, whereas the Sylvers had too many people in stage and their stage presence paled in comparison to The Jacksons. As a result of The Jacksons having left Motown in 1976, Joe Jackson made sure his children got the support they'd earned from their days on the Chitlin Circuit. The Sylvers NEVER traveled that circuit, so they never developed a compelling stage act; they were literally a major company trying to copy The Jackson 5 without them doing what the Jackson 5 did to become the stars they were. And anyway, what's wrong with Motown promoting and supporting their #1 act? Ultimately, The Sylvers, The Osmond, The DeBarges and other similar groups failed because they never had to learn all the Jacksons had to. And NONE of them had a lead singer like Michael Jackson.
Here it is 2022 and I never heard of them until now. I truly wonder if the industry purposely stuffed them. They had talent, voice and presence and were just as different as everyone else for the time.
Beautiful Sylvers family!! Handsome Sylvers' men and beautiful Sylvers'ladies!! On the outside and In the inside with beautiful voices!! Blessed with all!! I Love them!! Great Role Models !! They should be recognized more often in today's world
Discovered these guys by accident like last week, I have played this song at least 10 times every day, in the car, in the house, at night lol! Crazy how much talent and great groups are still so unknown to many today. I'm off to go dig up every song they ever recorded ✌🏽️
I have been stuck on this song and their other song called "New Horizons." I wish this group got the respect that they deserved. They were so dang talented. It's a shame that there are artists out now who do not even have an ounce of the talent that this group had, and they are popular as hell. It's not fair.
I've had the honor of meeting this family on many occasions back in the late 70s and early 80s when a friend worked at a venue where they performed in DC. They would always let me (and sometimes I would take little sis who had a crush on Foster) chill with them and they are down 2 earth people. Love my Sylvers forever!
Single best family act in music history. When will someone recognize this and create a film biography of their incredible story and showcase their never-duplicated harmonies, hits, and choreography?? The episode of Unsung should be made into a film, like Coal Miner's Daughter or What's Love Got to Do With It? It would be a HUGE hit.
Man! Their 6 & 8 part harmony is off the chain! This is the only group I know that has a beautiful harmony and note pitch! Way to go The Sylvers Family!
This group right here with diamonds I just wish they would just listened to the older brother to keep that music in the family but I still love them God bless you and your family sylvers we still love you and we still miss you we love your music will always love your music God bless you and your family
The Sylvers Leon ,Olympia,James and Charmaine. WERE ON TV. WHILE THE JACKSONS WERE STILL LIVING IN Gary,Indiana. Sylvers Osmonds, Cowsills and Debarge are great Family singing Groups.
My first time hearing this song and I love it! They're such a beautiful looking family. One of the sisters looks just like their mother. There's a video on youtube here that shows them when they were little kids. Such a beautiful family.
Their manager is quoted as saying to Leon, "You're writing couldn't cover my overhead." He was a greedy fool. The very best Sylvers music was penned by Leon Sylvers...like this incredibly beautiful ballad, Forever Yours, Fool's Paradise, Misdemeanor, High School Dance...far superior to the hits penned by Freddy Perrin. Leon Sylvers music was written for the incomparable harmonies of the Sylvers families...6 and 8 part hamonies that have never been duplicated...pure genius. Keep it up Leon!!
They were such an AWSOME group there stage presence and the Harmony the had was absolutely stunning and to think of what the family went through losing 2 siblings and 2 are still in prison it just breaks my heart I was so in love with foster as a young girl .I will always love the Sylvers I still listen to your music a forever fan ps. Hats off to you're magnificent mother who stayed strong throughout everything the family went through God bless you. 💙🌹
Sad I jus learned about them TODAY! They will forever be a part of my playlist!!! #foreveryours What a gorgeous family and what a heartbreaking story...but also inspiring! This is gonna be my wedding song!
They were a very talented and beautiful family. You should listen to all of their songs if you haven't already. Wish That I Could Talk To You is my favorite.
This is such a beautiful song !!!I remember this when it came out this is when you had to have TALLENT!!!no Auto tune no voice machines no mixing boards to clean you up

I love this song it brings back memories I love this group and they were definitely underrated and they should have went farther in their career just like the Jackson 5 they all were talented..
I was 15 years old when this came out and I was blown away with it....I feel exactly the same way about it here in 2022....The Sylvers are still one of absolute favorite groups ever....r.i.p. mama Shirley, daddy Leon and Edmonds.
This is such a passionately beautifully written song, the harmony is something you don't hear any more it just touch me deep down deep in my heart, especially the end of the song when he say, oooooo I'm yours,OMG!
This is definitely a very beautiful song Forever Yours by the sylvers. I had their album as well. I have always loved this song. If I ever remarried again? I would love for someone to sing this beautiful song at my wedding. Or either play this beautiful song at my wedding reception.
Man, I was a big fan of the Sylvers, and this particular song takes me back to my Teenage years in Junior High. The Dances at the Boy's Club, and the Backwards Skate call at Johnson's Skating Rink, Saturday nights on 76th St. (For those who know).
I'm 60 years old and still shed tears when I think about what this family endured.
This song is special,so sweet and so damn good!
Love u Slyvers!
What did they go through. Where can I find their story?
Especially Olympia so beautiful n so sad that she had her life as she knew it taken from her
i agree. the Sylvers & the Debarge episodes of Unsung were so sad to see. so much talent & so much pain.
MR. Washington you are spot on the same thing happens to me .
We, I am not the only one now....
Olympia is the spitting image of her father and Patricia is the spitting image of her mother! Such a beautiful and talented family!
To bad the father got caught up with Ike Turner and got. "Caught up!"
"I don't want nobody else, I just want you for myself" Damn, what else is there to be said? Solid group and solid song. R&B now and forever...
Ummmm. . ummm... *sigh*
Cannot stop listening to this absolutely gorgeous song! Leon Sylvers...pure genius!
I'm only 35 and think this is the most beautiful love song ever!!! I could tell Leon was a Pisces. We have the same bday.. This song was meant for Edmund to sing. They have the best harmonies ever

My birthday is March 3!
That’s just the way I…WE (PISCES) vibe!

I Dedicate this Song to my Lord and Savior ❤
Amen! 🙏💙
Who's that?

Got goosebumps from the start.... This sounds perfectly divine.
I agree. My first time hearing this song just 2days ago . Goosebumps as the song grabbed my attention
They along with Jackson’s and Debarges...they were a very handsome family.....and like the ones mentioned also soooo very talented. Unsung
When I laid my Father to rest next to my Mother, in my mind I heard them sing this to one another. God bless them.
TV one unsung documentary bought me here..and did not disappoint. Now a fan of this group.
I remember my aunt blew my hair out like that. Lol. I had a 21" long fro. You could barely see my face. Lmbo. I miss the 70s.
Me too simple times then

Because the Jacksons had Michael. That's all they needed.

One of the most underrated groups of the industry...❤
Meghan Williams exactly
The Sylvers were and still is one of the best family groups that ever came out of the '70s. It's too bad they were often overlooked
a good song will last the test of time. It is funny how a certain song can transport one mind back to a certain place or time with a person.
It really can
The sylvers put both feet in this slow jam, classic and still smooth
Talented family and Beautiful all natural no fake buts lips hair. Miss groups like this.
Most underrated Group Ever their musicianship, song and vocal arrangements are some of the best !!!!
0:45 Love that pic of Edmund, Ricky and James.

This is the ONLY ONE Sylvers album I had....and I played it over and over. This was one of my fav cuts. Man this brings back teenage memories!
