It's amazing how humble William Regal is, probably one of the best hour and thirty interviews ever. I loved it, and I have the utmost respect for William Regal.
He is an amazing person a brilliant guy he seems so humble and real thankful for his lot a man who has been through the ringer had his demons fought them and came out the other side I have so much love and respect for Darren surely Triple H can get in Vinces ear and put Regal in the HOF. I have watched many interviews and retrospectives concerning the wrestling business. Great road stories, sad falls from grace, intense memories - angry and raw. This by far is one of the most honest interviews I have have ever watched. I remember Steve in WCW and WWF/WWE - I remember his technical skill and his ability to bring his unique character to screen. Here is a man that spent his career on the edge of the spotlight yet, as his down to earth and humble personality comes through, he is at peace with his accomplishments and along the way brought so many talents up the ranks with him. After so many negative interviews watched, this positive and realistic look at the wrestling business seen through the eyes of a man much wiser than I ever gave him credit for blew me away. Forget about nit picking the camera work...LISTEN to the storyline and find the meaning behind the true determination to succeed in doing something you love. This may be a wrestling story, but so many things Steve says throughout the interview applies to anything you set out to accomplish. Many thanks for being the true wrestler and professional, and for exemplifying what an athlete, business man, trainer, and mentor is all about!
William Regal is a living legend and a true wrestler's wrestler. I fell in love with his smash mouth combined with grappling style of wrestling when I was a kid. He brought a physicality to the ring that I had never before seen.
I can here him now.."And next in the ol' Tele book we have Paul Smith..Mr Smith is from Generia Lane ..Located in Trenton New Jersey..number of 201 555 Fifty5 Fifty 5." Yeah I could listen to him too.
I love the way he says "right" after a sentence to convey his enthusiasm - especially with the stories of the Horseshoe Showbar in Blackpool (a fantastic place that is still going.).
I haven't really watched wrestling since 2003, but looking back now I can see how much I underrated William Regal. He's just an all-round fantastic bloke.
Patrick Kennedy I played royal rumble all the time with my best friend, but everytime Regal would come in we would team up and just beat him up untill every single part of his body was red...combo signature mvoes and stuff like that. good times !
Absolutely fascinating interview. I'm 56 and grew up through the same era as William. Alot of the names and stories bought back some great memories. Loved William in his early American days, being English he was one we could relate to.
"You come into this with nothing, and you go out with nothing. It's a completely bent business, don't get up your backside about what it is. Just remember who you are and where you came from." Forget wrestling, that's perfect life advice.
For a 47 old year man who had drug issues, heart related illness and not mention all th troubles with the wrestle world "sir" William looks gorgeous! I wish to look healthy as him when I have the same age, hell he even looks better than 15 years ago.
He was one of only two wrestlers that I was nervous to meet when he did his UK tour but he turned out to be a great storyteller and a complete gentleman. I'm now the proud owner of a signed copy of his book x x x
Absolutely underrated. I am rewatching the Attitude Era back to back after not watching WWF since 2003 and I've missed this so much. I hate Regal in the beginning but after he became commissioner he was truly one of the guys who made the Attitude Era what it was. How comedic style was great especially with Tajiri.
It’s 2021 and I just spent 1 1/2 hours listening to William Regal from 6 years ago…. and I could have listened for 5 hours! This man is a living legend who spans every generation of wrestling in the last 50 years - can’t wait for him to come back to the UK and do more speaking tours! So interesting, humble, respectful and class - “you only get better by spending time with people better than you” so true - always aim to be the dumbest guy in the room, you’ll learn so much
WWE need to make a DVD on his story. It would sell out. Cause no only cause he's a likable wrestler. But because his story is very interesting indeed. I'd buy it at least.
If you look up "underrated" in the wrestling dictionary, there's a picture of this guy. Great wrestler in any style match, great talker (could be very funny or totally serious equally well), could have gone a lot further if he got the push from Vince and was able to keep clean. Awesome talent though.
What a class act Regal is. One of the greats. His aura I the ring & self awareness if how to have the crowd in the palm if his hand is brilliant. Great technical & psychological wrestler. Thoroughly enjoyed this interview such a great down to earth guy! His lead an awesome life travelling the world doing this must have been a blast. He definitely deserves to be inducted into the Hall of Fame!!
I absolutely loved him in his early WCW days even though he started out as a heel. The gimmick was good and his style was a breath of fresh air in the early 90s.
Shows what a great bloke he is with the bit about Vince Russo. “ he didn’t like me but he didn’t have to like me “. No bad mouthing him or anything. Seems like the kind of man who sees the good in everyone.
William Regal is one of my earliest wrestling memories. When I was 8 or 9, I went to a WWE house show in the UK. JBL was being JBL and cutting a promo on the crowd. Regal came out (then a fully fledged heel and that was the only way I had known him), to save the crowd from JBL and got the biggest babyface pop all night. Me and my friend walked out saying "I kind of love William Regal" but we were back to hating him a week later. A true wrestling legend
As someone from the UK who grew up watching fit finlay Jim breaks. Johnny saint , I love this guy , a real tough guy but humble and honest , and I don't even know him , thanks Mr Regal
A humble, likable gent, but also a legitimate badass. Exactly what a superstar should be. No disrespect to Cesaro and Sheamus, but Sir William Regal is "the bar".
If you were to break down regal’s qualities. He’s honest, kind, loyal, dedicated. A born leader. Highly intelligent. Down to earth, humble . He’s shy but very personsable. I’m glad he’s doing well. He’s a good guy
i agree, he had the ability to be winning gold all the time, but he never did. I think he just loved wrestling, so he never cared about winning stuff, he was in it for the joy of it.
This is absolutely thee quintessential William Regal interview. Came back to this about 10 times over the past few years. As British, proud, humble, talented and insightful as it gets.
When he talks about the 3 things.. that's so true. He was a great wrestler and a great heel. As a 35 year old american who grew up on 90s WWF n WCW. Regal was one of my faves
Always loved sitting with my grandfather at the weekend watching world of sport. Some many great memories and the heat some of the wrestlers got without even talking... they could teach today's gymnasts a thing or two
I remember watching him wrestle Giant Haystacks in Blackpool when he was young ...even then he was one step ahead and had something special...you could see he was going somewhere then
What a guy William Regal is. He has wrestled in countless countries and promotions, payed his dues to the business time after time and fought through his own personal demons and at the end of it all has nothing but thanks to give back. Legend and a future hall of famer for sure. Massive inspiration for anyone wanting to be a professional wrestler.
Fascinating to listen to - always been a fan of his since I got into wrestling watching WCW Worldwide on a Saturday afternoon on IT when he was Lord Steven Regal.
This is the BEST video yet in this series. I've always respected the hell out of William/Steve Regal. I agree he needs to be in the WWE Hall Of Fame because this guy had paid his dues. So thank you for the best video in this series. Would love to see more video shoots with him.

I love Lord Sir Steven William Regal, he's a great worker and promo cutter. Way underrated wrestler, fantastic guy who's overcome a lot of problems. Great interview.
As a ex wrestler in the UK I can identify what he was saying with the style used in the UK. Absolute brill interview and in-depth onsite to the world of wrestling from one hell of a class man.

Superb! That whole interview brought back so many great memories. The wresting booth at Blackpool, late night WCW, going to the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton with my dad to watch the matches. Great days
One of my FAVORITE wrestlers...!!! A TRUE mat technician and grappler ALL in one. Absolutely AWESOME guy and worker in this business. Totally underrated in my honest opinion he deserves FAR, FAR, more recognition then he has received.
I have a great appreciation for british wrestlers, they along with Japanese grapplers are always going to be miles ahead of wrestlers here in the states. Stephen along with fit finley are the last of their kind the old Irishman and Englishmen tough guy brawler type wrestler. Stephen was very underrated and could've carried the the nwa,wcw &wwe world titles.
One of my FAVORITE wrasslers. A legit tough SOB from Manchester England. Loved his matches with Fit Finley. Those two would tear it up legit. And his facial expressions some of THE BEST in this business. He could "sell" for damn sure.
I remember watching William Steven Regal back in the 90 he always did good as a heel or babyface he's very entertaining hard to believe he's been in wrestling since the age of 15 when he was living in England
As a kid I couldn't stand the guy, as an adult I realise that's because he was just damn good at his job and he in reality is a awesome dude

Regal could be the one of greatest underrated talent the wrestling world has ever seen
i agree, he had the ability to be winning gold all the time, but he never did. I think he just loved wrestling, so he never cared about winning stuff, he was in it for the joy of it.
Still can't believe that WWE have released him - a true student of the game, a great trainer and a top bloke.
He's back!
William Regal is a legend one of the greatest Wrestler to have never held the world tittle put this man in the Hall Of Fame He deserves it
A great guy to be in charge at NXT, helping develop new talent.
Living legend....true passion for the sport....hopefully makes it to the hall of fame....one of the greatest entertainers of all time.
Regal has amazing skill in the ring, one of the best ever. Why the hell is he not in the hall of fame yet?
Xenite227 It's coming! One day it'll happen!
Xenite227 why he never get a title run !!?
Morrisseys Quiff He's British.
George Havenhand :-O
Morrisseys Quiff Its true, there's never been a British WWE Champion, they get close, but get put down and are always shown as Heels.
This guys was definitely a GREAT worker ! I loved watching him wrestle back in the day.. And loved hearing his story here.
This is absolutely thee quintessential William Regal interview. Came back to this about 10 times over the past few years. As British, proud, humble, talented and insightful as it gets.
I may be stating the obvious, but Regal is a class act.
When he talks about the 3 things.. that's so true. He was a great wrestler and a great heel. As a 35 year old american who grew up on 90s WWF n WCW. Regal was one of my faves
I could listen to that man talk all day
I'm from Lancaster near Blackpool and Regal is so honest...not to mention having had massive talent....
I love Regal he's an amazing man. Makes me very proud to be from England!
Always loved sitting with my grandfather at the weekend watching world of sport. Some many great memories and the heat some of the wrestlers got without even talking... they could teach today's gymnasts a thing or two
Regal always comes off as the nicest person in/from the business.
Such a great character. If I ever meet him in person I would just love to shake his hand and say thank you for everything you have done.
Great interview.
One of best in-ring performers. Always enjoyed watching him and Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit and Taka Michinoku.
What a awesome humble man. He owns his mistakes. And he give credit where it's due! I see him in a whole new light.
My love for this man knows no bounds, one of the greatest to ever do it..!! I could literally listen to him tell stories all day..!!
Fantastic interview. Could listen to him all day
This is the BEST video yet in this series. I've always respected the hell out of William/Steve Regal. I agree he needs to be in the WWE Hall Of Fame because this guy had paid his dues. So thank you for the best video in this series. Would love to see more video shoots with him.
Very soft-spoken gentleman. Totally the opposite of his in-ring persona. Great to hear him being real.
I must say that this is how to do an interview with style, grace and humility!! Great job Hall of Famer!!!
This is the best interview you've done to date James.
He’s a true ambassador to the sport. I’m impressed what a well spoken man. Love how he is balanced and introspective
William Regal is so damn underrated. He's earned a spot in the Hall of Fame, in my opinion.
One of the best interviews I've seen. He's the type of guy who has been around and knows the good and bad of the business. He is a good communicator. When he speaks....you listen.
I love Lord Sir Steven William Regal, he's a great worker and promo cutter. Way underrated wrestler, fantastic guy who's overcome a lot of problems. Great interview.
I hated the gimmick of Lord Sir Steven William Regal, it is as though Americans still cannot work out what to do with British talent!
As a ex wrestler in the UK I can identify what he was saying with the style used in the UK. Absolute brill interview and in-depth onsite to the world of wrestling from one hell of a class man.
Says a lot about him that he can be living abroad for so long and he hasn't lost a note of his natural accent; he means it when he says 'remember where you came from'. Seems like he'd be a good guy to have a pint with
Your accent doesnt change once you are passed the age of 20-25 , it's imbedded for life.
@@docgonzales Mel Gibson's did. He moved from NY to Australia when he was 12. He developed an accent. But when he moved back to the states when he was older, he lost it over time.
I love this guy so much. He seems so humble, and driven. He's not full of himself, but he knows what he's good at. I have a lot of Respect for Regal. One of the best workers in wrestling history for sure.
I wouldn't fuck with regal in his prime. He was a tough son of a bitch. One of the most underrated and respected behind the scenes of all time.
sam dorsa
I went to school with him, and he used to practice on us in the playground. Happy days
It is not possible to watch this all the way through and not love this man.
This guy is the actual reason Hunter Hearst Helmsley learned. One of the good things wcw did was putting the Bluebloods tag team together .
Hollywood blondes
Superb! That whole interview brought back so many great memories. The wresting booth at Blackpool, late night WCW, going to the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton with my dad to watch the matches. Great days
Great interview. I've always been a fan of Regal. Thanks for posting this!
Walter and Pete Dunne bring hope!!
One of the most revealing and fascinating interviews of a man's life in wrestling. I love Steve / William Regal.
What a fucking nice bloke man. Used to love his style. It actually looked real, and he had a hell of en engine on him in his prime
Regal is a legend and well spoken man.....i could listen to him all day long!
