  • It's one thing to be skinny and gain muscle. It's a whole different story to be tall and skinny while gaining muscle. After years of fasting and performing HIIT workouts I have left a lot of muscle mass on the table when it comes to filling out my frame. I am doing a lot of research while getting my CPT for gaining muscle while staying lean.
From what I have studied so far It really only comes down to a few key components from a scientific measure.
    1. Maintain a caloric surplus while keeping a sustainable strength and resistance training program.
    2. Implement progressive overload in each training session per week.
    3. Make sure you are consuming enough protien for growth and recovery to occur after and in between your training.
    4. Track your training in a log book or your phone to make sure you are progressing in factors such as weight being used, reps being perfomred, rest times, and other measurable variables that allow you to see your progress in real time. What cannot be measured cannot be improved.
    5. Make sure you are recovering through 7-9 hours of sleep every night along with eating nutrient rich whole foods for the majority of your diet.
The nutrition aspect of these pillars varies widely for each individual. The easiest way to figure out the exact intake you need of carbs, fats, and protiens each day would be to hire a coach who actually know what they are doing in the fitness industry. This will save you a TON of time. I won't go into further detail about these key factors on this vlog alone, but will expand in the future as I learn and apply trial and error to my own training journey.
Any constructive feedback/critisism is fully welcomed and appreciated.
    Thanks, Tyler

Right on brother, please don’t stop posting on YT. I love your vids and how authentic you are. You’ve got a fan in me 🙏🏽💙
My regimen looks something like this:
Wake between 5-6am, do 2-2.5 hours of yoga + strength training w body weight. 4-5 days /week I strength train, but everyday I do a full yoga practice.
Then a short breath work, then meditate for 70 mins. Then I break my fast always around 11am or so with juicy fruits like watermelon, papaya or pineapple. Or just warm water & honey.
I’m getting more educated on metabolism though and how the body can adapt to burning less calories when it’s not getting many calories. I struggled for a while too with fasting a lot but training a lot.
I’m switching it up though and starting kettlebell training to build muscle. I kind’ve stagnated w body weight training and was wondering why I wasn’t more shredded when I exercise a shit ton. So I’m gonna replace the bodyweight workouts with kettlebells.
Big tip: eat slowly, and chew slowly at least 30 times. It takes something like 20 mins for the brain to register that you’ve had enough to eat. So bingeing will become less of a habit when you’re more calm and in tune with what you’re doing. Eating slowly helps with that.
Also two things to checkout: I follow a guy on instagram named @Trevorsinstinct. He does nothing but kettlebell training but dude is shredded and his workouts look fun. + he shares how he eats to build muscle and stay lean. He also has a YT channel under the same name. He’s also struggled with binge eating and getting in shape. Seems like he’s overcome it well though!
2nd thing is another YT channel: it’s titled “Mind pump show” these guys mind f*ckd me a few days ago with a video titled “eat more get leaner”
It made a lot of sense and it’s all about high protein diet, and strength training to build muscle while burning fat. Highly recommend watching that episode and all their content. It’s so good and will serve you well in the future when working with PT clients 🤙🏽
Also man, yoga will help a lot with the overload the nervous system gets with weightlifting 🙏🏽

Good looks on the recommendations bro I am definitely subbed to mind pump and love them. Positive caring dudes with real experience. Yeah the higher protien is something I have implemented and am currently in the middle of experimentation with! Ill look up that trevorsinstict as well!
Man that's so funny you said 30 times for chewing I legit have had that as my number for like 6 months now! Got it from that Sadguru yogi dude!
Your regimen is awesome brother keep that early wake up! That's one of the main things I know will better me forever is implementing and adhering to just an overall earlier regimen with waking up and getting more done throughout the day. You are breaking your fast with my favorite foods for sure bro I miss the papaya and mangoes out there. I was probably eating too much fruit to be honest lol.
Yeah with you not being as shredded as you want the body knows what it needs to be in a certain shape other than baseline genetic pre dispositions. You just have to find that balance of calorie expenditure with what ever strength training suits you best bro. I personally love calisthenics and always will have that as a base. They are just unbeatable in my opinion for being in tune with your own body weight and having the ability to do HIIT or strength with minimal equiptment. This weight training in the gym just doesn't feel as pure. But life is about being uncomfortable to get to the next step.
Much love my guy and thank you for the words with sticking to youtube. A lot of the time I wont even turn on the camera anymore because I feel like I have already posted about something or people won't find value. Thanks for the YOSHI BOOST.
